Ipad email keypad disable caps lock

Hi All,
We are designing web page for ipad device, the page contains one email input field, below is the element details,
Email: <input type="email" /> <!-- display an email keyboard -->
Now the problem is it is showing email keypad, but with Caps Lock enabled for first letter.
So is there any way to disable this using javascript or html element as "Email" will not contain Captial letters.
Please help me, if you guys have any idea.
Thanks in advance,
VInay

And to add, this problem does not occur when i use the English keyboard.

  • Disable caps lock stops working...

I've been using the modifier key setting to disable caps lock and it's great!
Only now after some time the caps lock key suddenly starts working as normal
I can turn it off again in system preferences and it'll work for a while, but it's so annoying that the setting won't keep.
I think this problem started appearing after the latest security update, but can't really say for sure when it started...

glote, I'm having the same problem, as well as startup items (Safari, iCal, AddressBook, Font Xplorer) not hiding themselves. It started after the 10/.6.1 upgrade. Any news on your end?

  • CANNOT DISABLE CAPS LOCK

I CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO DISABLE MY CAPS LOCK, IF I PRESS IT,THE CAPS LOCK LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF, BUT IT DOES NOT ACTUALLY DISABLE THE CAPS LOCK, LOGGING INTO EMAILS AND WEBSITES HAS BEEN A HASSLE WITH CASE SENSITIVE PASSWORDS. PLEASE ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Sounds like a faulty keyboard. Can you beg/borrow/steal another? Any USB keyboard will work - even one from a PC!

  • How to disable Caps Lock?

I am tired of constantly hitting the Caps Lock key by mistake. I know there is a way to disable it with a Unix command. Unfortunately, I've forgotten what it is.
    Please Help.

I don't know the Unix command but if you look under *System Preferences* open Keyboard and choose *Modifier Keys*. Click on *Caps Lock Key* and change the choice to No Action. Now the caps lock key will no longer work till you need it.

  • Disabling Caps Lock?

I'm new to the mac world and have a brand new macbook. Coming from a linux/X-Windows background I am used to being able to remap my keyboard's functionality, or more importantly, disable particularly undesireable parts of it and I am not yet familiar enough with the MacBook to do that.
I'm trying to figure out how to disable the Caps Lock key. I rarely need to type things in upper case and when I do, I can press the shift key.
Any insights you could give me on how to accomplish that would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    John

Found it. System Prefs->Keyboard and Mouse->Keyboard->Modifiers

  • Disable caps lock key

Is there an easy way to disable the caps lock key?  I keep hitting it on my Pavilion DV2z and it serves no purpose for my typical operations.  Suggestions?

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
    "Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,00,00,3a,00,00,00,00,00
Works in XP, not sure about other versions of Windows.

  • Disable Caps Lock Indicator Yoga 14

I just purchased a yoga 14 with windows 8.1. I want to disable the caps lock notification and almost all of the old solutions for windows 7 do not apply because there is no "On-Screen Display" tab. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you for confirming.
    This one, yes: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-3-1470
My apologies. I mistakenly thought that only the ThinkPad line sported a 14" Yoga.

  • IPad 1 and disabling Passcode/lock option on Find My IPad

I have an iPad 1.  Just got the Find my IPad app after 3 years.  But, after setting it up, I discovered that it locks and requires my password every time it goes to sleep or is turned off.  I thought I could instruct it to be locked if I lost it and did not realize it would lock all the time.  I have searched everywhere to see how to disable this but when I go to the LOCK option under this device in the Find My Ipad app as instructed, there is no option to turn the lock/ Passcode command off.  I desparately want to get rid of the need to enter a Passcode.  If I can't do it here, can I somehow cancel my subscription to Find My IPad?  Help please!

I just found the solution elsewhere in the forum.  Go to Settings/General/Passcode Lock/. When prompted, put in your Passcode. Now you will be able to switch it to OFF.  It will ask yu to put your code in once again, and then, voila!  The lock screen is forever gone!

  • TS1398 My Ipad email seems to be locked.  E-mails keep coming in but I cannot open or delete them.  I am stuck on the e-mail page so now cannot do anything.  Any suggestion?  Eve

My ipad e-mail seems to be locked.E-mails keep coming in but I cannot open or delete them.  As I am frozen on the e-mail page I cannot do anything els.  Any suggestion?   Eve

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Disabling the caps lock delay on the aluminum keyboard

Is there any way of turning off the accidental caps-lock press prevention on the new Apple keyboards? (http://www.tuaw.com/2007/10/07/new-apple-keyboard-has-protection-against-acciden tal-caps-lock/)
I use my caps lock key as Control (SysPrefs -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard -> Modified Keys), and the bounce protection cause me no end of trouble - it is still enabled, though I am not using that key for caps lock.
I called Apple support, and they told me to return the keyboard. I do not think this will make a difference, but maybe a Genius can help me out.

Thanks for your suggestion Tom, but that's not really what we're trying to do.
On early keyboards (when I started typing on computer terminals (in the 70s/80s, yes, before personal computers, the Control key was the key to the left of "A". That was great for programmers since lots of things used Control (shell, Emacs, etc). At some point, the Powers That Be (TM) decided that Caps Lock belonged to the left of the "A" key, so people like me spent their time either hoarding the old-style keyboards or finding ways of putting Control 'back where it should be'.
So disabling Caps Lock altogether does not achieve this goal. And until the Aluminum keyboard, ALL other Apple keyboards have worked fine under OSX using the Keyboard Modifier Key swap to simply make Caps Lock be Control. This Aluminum keyboard still makes the switch and works, but at the cost of having to hold the key longer as if it still were the Caps Lock key. Many typists may not even notice this difference, but to a touch-typist, the key seems simply not to work at all.

  • Solaris 10 SPARC random Caps Lock

Periodically CAPS Lock will engage. Happens while typing usually. I attempted to disable CAPS lock in the Xserver, but it still occurs.
If I log out of the Xsession, it will reset. We thought it was related to the use of our KVM, but we now connect via virtual console through the ILOM, and it still occurs.
We also have problems with the first character typed not displaying. Again, we thought it was the KVM, but still continues.
    Hardware is a T4-1.

This isn't on an official Sun site, but the MD5 sums for Solaris 10 1/06 Sparc CD and DVD matched those on the iso images downloaded from Sun:

  • Libretto U100 - More Alternatives To Missing Caps Lock Lamp

Having the U100 beep a warning when you accidentally hit the caps lock key is handy (see my 31.8.05 post), but a nice further step is to load a bit of freeware called cAPSlOCKhASSER. This sits quietly in the Sys Tray, but if you hit caps lock, it flashes up a warning and immediately turns caps lock off again.
I found it on the website of Easy2Sink, my favourite file and email synching software. You can download it from http://www.easy2sync.de/en/download/. I now have a shortcut to cAPSlOCKhASSER.exe in the StartUp folder so it starts at bootup.
Incidentally, if you want to disable caps lock altogether http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t14629.html offers a neat little reg file to disable caps lock and another one to restore it. They worked fine when I tried them out, but disabling caps lock is too drastic for me and cAPSlOCKhASSER suits me better.

    Hello David
Libretto U100 is a new unit and it is interesting to have more useful information how to use it. Thank you very much for those interesting links.
    Good luck!

  • Remaps Caps Lock to Mod4

    Hello all.
I've been using Arch with xmonad/gnome and then xmonad/xfce for a while. Now xfce is bugging me, and I want to just switch to a lightweight xmobar setup.
I use caps lock as my mod4 key for xmonad. In the past I've remapped this with the gnome/xfce control panels. Now I see there are a couple approaches to do this in just X, and none of them are working for me.
xmodmap: I am trying to just run these commands from a terminal after starting x, just to see if I can get them to work.
    xmodmap -e "remove Lock = Caps_Lock"
doesn't even disable caps lock for me.
I was able to use setxkbmap to switch Caps lock to escape, but I have no idea how to switch it to mod4. What's the difference between "escape" and "swapescape"?
Finally, I understand there are some methods that wouldn't even rely on commands in an .xinitrc file, but are systemd based? I would be interested in this if I could put the setup in my dotfiles.
What are the advantages to each of these techniques? What's the canonical "right" way to switch the keys?

Just beware that some DEs try to be "helpful" and use their own settings daemons.  What little i have done with DEs i have found the most usual culprits of this to be display managers. In particular, GDM is quite bad aboit tjis, ignoring just about everything in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d. So if you end up making that setting permanent, just be aware of this.

  • Caps lock key gets stuck on

We are using Sun Ray Software 5.2.1 and connecting to Citrix XenApp 6.5 servers running on windows server 2008R2. We have an issue where randomly the caps lock key is stuck On, and its not just the light, the actually caps lock is stuck and you can only type capital letters. The only solution we have found is to log off and then log back in for a new session and everything is good again. This doesn't work however if the users desktop is locked from the screensaver timeout, because then they can't type in their password correctly to log off the session. The only solution is for me to manually log them off within the Citrix XenApp console.
    Any ideas?

Which citrix client are you using? Have you tried killing the sun ray session with CTRL+ALT+Backspace? The Session should restart after that and it would not involve administrative intervention.
You could also try and disable caps lock with xmodmap if you don't need it.
    Just some ideas

  • Caps Lock Won't Disengage - Cannot Enter Admin Password

I was using email when my Caps lock key would not longer disengage. Believing that I had hit a combination of keys that had somehow bypassed the caps lock key and locked caps, I restarted.
Restart was slow and included a grey bar scale on the bottom of the boot screen that I have not seen before.
After restart, the log on screen came up in 'Safe Boot' mode.
My password is an all lower case sequence and my caps key is still locked on restart (reboot now?)
    I can't enter my password.
    What can I do?
    What happened?

The 'shift' key was physically stuck. I was unprepared for this as I never eat or drink at the computer. But, it seems to have something in there regardless.
