IPad Fails to Restore after recent update through iTunes

iPad failed the recent update and now fails to restore with a 1014 error code. I tried all of the items listed on the Apple site regarding restoring an iPad. Any ideas?

Have you looked at the three precious threads on this forum that discussed the same error? You can find those by searching the iPad forum for : 1014

My computer is unable to install device driver software for iPhone 3GS, where do I locate the software? As my phone is in restore mode following update through iTunes...

It's included in the iTunes installation bundle. Re-download and re-install iTunes on your PC.

And....that's your question? How to restore the apps? Sync your iPad with iTunes and the apps should be restored to your device. Or go to the purchased tab of the App Store and tap on Not on this iPad and download them again.
Did you restore from a backup after you updated? Can you provide any information at all?

  • IPad in recovery mode after recent update

Is there any way to get my iPad to turn on after latest update caused the iPad to go into recovery mode?

    RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
    3. Repeat the process if necessary.

  • Ipad failed to work after software update

I have an ipad 2. after recent software update,  was told to connect to itune. when connected to itune was further advise to restore factory settings.  however  even after going through recovery, encountered failed to recover. what should I do now

Hello, The most common thing to do after an update that results in issues is to perform an OS reload. Sometimes, the update processes have errors and such...with a reload often curing the issues. The official methods, which will be controlled as to what exact OS versions you are offered:http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-Functions-and/How-to-Reload-your-Blackberry10-O...The unofficial methods, which are cleaner, and allow you to choose an OS version that perhaps your carrier (or whoever it is controlling your offers) has been slow to approve:http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using...http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-leaked-beta-os-f395/bb10-os-archive-943672/Of course, before you started anything, hopefully you already took a good backup via LINK, a manual copy of your Device Memory to your PC, and full documentation of your configuration (account credentials, added apps, configurations, etc.). Sometimes, restoring from a backup returns to the device the very corruption one needs to eliminate, and reconfiguring from scratch can resolve that. Good luck!

  • Ipad 2 stopped working after recent update

I downloaded the latest IOS update yesterday and today my ipad 2 won't even turn on.
My ipad worked fine last night. I am wondering if my ipad is now toast?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I did what you suggested and after the apple icon, I get the iTunes icon with a plug in cord.
After plugging in, a box pops up in itunes indicating it has detected an ipad in recovery mode and it says it can not connect with itunes until restored. I have attempted to restore via itune but the next pop up box say "this device is not eligible for the requested build."
When I hit "more information" I am told to update my itunes to the latest which results in my having to download iOS 7.0.4 on my macbook pro.
Am I at a stand still because I won't download 7.0.4 on my macbook pro?

  • KGet failing to laod after recent update!

Anyone else see this error when executing KGet?
Plugin loader could not load the plugin: kget_bittorrentfactory.
This just started happening today after an update.
I know that libktorrent was updated today.
    Should I report this error.
Will rolling back this update fix the error until the update is fixed?

I've also noticed that error message. I have simply disabled torrent support in the KGet prefs for now. KTorrent itself still seems to work though.

  • ITunes doesn't see iPhone4 after recent update of iTunes

I recently updated iTunes. The update went smoothly, but immediately after the update iTunes no longer shows my iPhone4. The diagnostics show that everything is okay with exception of the no iPhone connected error. I've run through all of the Apple helps but nothing has fixed the problem. The same problem occurs on other user profiles on the same computer. The computer is a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. Windows 7 shows the iPhone and I can access it as a camera or drive. I've re-installed the phone USB driver but still no go. I can plug my phone into another computer and the sync works fine. Anyone else work through the same problem?

Try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as described in this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923, then reinstall the latest version of 64-bit iTunes.  You must follow this guide exactly (uninstalling all components in the order specified) or it will not be successful.  Also, unistalling iTunes only removes the application; you iTunes library and data will not be touched.

  • After recent updates, my iTunes library is no longer visible on my AppleTV Home Sharing

I've updated to the most recent versions of Lion and the AppleTV, however, after the updates, I can no longer connect to my iTunes library on my AppleTV. I've resetted both my computer (MacBook Pro) and my AppleTV, however, still no connections.

    I love computers.
Have managed to fix this already. Been working the issue for a few days now, and a few minutes after writing the above post I decided to reset the Time Capsule to factory default settings.
After entering all my details again (used same network names, passwords etc) the Time Capsule was rebooted. When it came back on line - guess what? Yep, the MyBook WD drive is now visibile. I can connect via the network from my other machines to the drive, and iTunes is back.
So - thought I would post my resolution in case it helps others.

  • Failed Logic Board after recent update

I am 2 1/2 months out of warranty, after the latest update I noticed my iPhone 5 started to lose battery life quickly and at 3am I happened to look at my phone and it was very hot, not just warm from use.  The battery had not charged at all and was at 48% after being plugged in for 6 hours.  Since the phone got hotter with use, I turned it completely off.  Monday morning came and the phone would not turn on, only flashing the apple logo.  Plugged into iTunes and tried to restore and was unable to after 4 attempts and two different cables.  When to the Genius Bar and was told the Logic Board had failed the cost to fix is $269.  She did mention that there may have been a problem with my phone prior to the upgrade and installing the upgrade exacerbated the issue.  I have noticed in the past few months it would turn off spontaneously like I had performed a hard reset.  Not eligible for an upgrade and really wanted to wait for the iPhone 6 to come out.  Are there any other options?  I am using my 3GS (I take very good care of my phones) now and even though it works fine its hard to have my other newer phone idle.  Any condsideration for being barely out of warranty would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Greetings,
Mac Pro memory must be installed in matched pairs (page 32 of the manual). Make sure you are installing your memory as depicted on page 34: http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/Mac_Pro_UserGuide.pdf
If you are installing the memory as described in the manual and the issue keeps happening, try removing the bottom memory card as described in the manual above and put it back in carefully but firmly ensuring it is completely seated in the memory bay. It is also a good idea to ensure there is no damage to the gold / copper contacts on the back edge of the card where it meets the logic board. Also ensure there is no debris blocking the length of the female slot on the logic board itself.
If the issue persists, perform an SMC reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If the issue persists at this point, we want to put known good working RAM in the lower memory card (this could just be a bad / incompatible set of chips).
If the issue persists, you can try putting memory card #2 in the #1 slot and see if it works.
If the issue persists after testing with known good working RAM in the lower memory card then there are two possibilities:
    1. Bad memory card
    2. Bad connection from memory card to logic board
__It is unlikely to have an issue with the logic board itself as the system boots normally as long as you don't have anything in memory card # 2.
You may wish to take your computer to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store at that point to have it diagnosed further: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1434
    Hope that helps.

  • My IPad will not respond to my pass code after I updated.  iTunes says 'disable find my ipad'  before I can restore from backup.

My IPad will not respond to my pass code after I updated from ITunes.  ITunes says I must disable ''find my ipad'' in order to restore. I cannot get to that because my pass code is locked.
I only have one back up & that is the one I did when I updated.  (Can't remember if it was before or after)

iTunes wants you to disable find my iPad because Apple wants to make sure you are not trying to restore someone else's iPad.
To turn off find my iPad, you need to enter your Apple ID password.
