Ipad file transfer

Does anybody know of a way using lingo to connect to an iPad and transfer files?
Thanks,
Alan

Thanks for your response, sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you.
I’ve got a desktop application and an iPad app that work together: the desktop application creates files that the iPad app uses. I need to get those files from the PC into the iPad apps documents folder. Currently I’m using diskaid to copy them across but would love to be able to do it directly from my desktop application.

    I have transferred files from my Win 7 laptop to Pages on my iPad but I have forgotten how. Are there instructions anywhere on how to do this?

    Trying to transfer files from a PC to an iPad following Apple's instructions doesn't work. This does:
    Install Dropbox on both your PC and and your iPad.
    On your iPad, open the file you want to transfer to your PC.
    Under the wrench symbol, go "Share and Print" > "Send to iTunes." Choose the type of file you want to send.
    Connect your iPad to your PC and open iTunes.
    In iTunes, choose your iPad from the list in the left column.
    Still in iTunes, choose Apps.
    Scroll down to "File Sharing" and choose the app with which you created the document. The file you sent to iTunes is here.
    Highlight the file and choose "Save To."
    A Windows dialogue box, "Select Folder," appears.
    Find the Dropbox folder on your PC and click "Select Folder." Your file is now in Dropbox.
    On your iPad, open Dropbox to see the file you saved.
    Tap the file. In the upper right corner of your iPad, tap the arrow. A dialogue will ask you what app you want to open the file in.
    Choose the app, and, as they say in Australia, Bob's your Uncle!
    The steps outlined above works with iWorks documents.

    THANKS

    Hey davoodmac,
    Thanks for the question. To copy photos from your Mac to your iOS devices, you’ll want to use the Sync Photos option in iTunes. For more information, see the following resource:
    iTunes: Syncing photos
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
    You can use iPhoto or choose a folder of photos to sync to your device. You may also be interested in learning about iCloud Photo Sharing:

    i have an ipad version 5.1.1. i have multiple albums in the ipad and i want to transfer some photos to my computer but when i open the ipad files via "computer" i can only see pictures from one of the albums.what should i do?

    You can only import photos from the camera roll into the computer. Is that the album that you are seeing?
    Any albums that you create on the device itself (the iPad that is) cannot be transferred to your computer. iPad created albums do not contain copies of your photos but merely pointers to those photos so they do not actually exist in those albums.

  • How do I transfer my TV Shows from my iPad to iTunes if File Transfer won't work?

    I just got a Macbook 4,1 from ebay which came out in early 2008. Ironically, this machine is way better than my Netbook from 2009. I couldn't store all my videos on my old Netbook because I didn't have enough room and am now trying to transfer all my videos to my new Macbook. Since my Macbook is old enough, all I have on it is Leopard and not Snow Leopard, so I can't just transfer everything the easy way. I tried to transfer videos off my iPad onto my Netbook, which has had almost everything deleted off it, but iTunes won't let me. How can I transfer the files if file>transfer doesn't work because it says I don't have enough room?

    How much free space do you have on that Mac ? If you don't have enough space on it then you will either need to delete more of your content off it (an hour's long HD programme can be about 2.5 gig), or if you have an external drive you can could try telling iTunes to use that for its library (Advanced tab in iTunes > Preferences, command-comma).

  • HT204144 File transfer using Airdrop from iphone to Macbook Pro

    File transfer using airdrop form Macbook Pro to iphone is working...but from iphone to Macbook Pro is not working, Why?

    Hi Brok25;
    Thanks for the question.  The resource below explains the specs and settings that are needed for AirDrop.  Check the settings and look to see if your MacBook Pro is listed.
    Mac Basics: AirDrop lets you send files from your Mac to nearby Macs and iOS devices - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203106
    Sending files to and from an older Mac
    If a Mac you're using with AirDrop was manufactured before 2012, you can send and receive files with other Mac computers.
    On the sending Mac, click "Don't see who you're looking for" in the AirDrop window.
    Select the option to "Search for an Older Mac."
    On the receiving Mac, open a new Finder window and click AirDrop in the sidebar.
    Tips for sending files
    Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your Mac and your iOS device. Although you don't have to connect to a specific network, Wi-Fi needs to be on to send and receive files using AirDrop.
    Move your devices closer together. AirDrop is designed to work within a range of approximately 30 feet (9 meters). If you need to send a file to someone farther away, consider using File Sharing, iCloud, or email instead.
    If you're using a firewall on your Mac, you won't be able to receive AirDrop files if you have enabled "Block all incoming connections" in the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences.
    Make sure your devices meet system requirements for AirDrop.
    System Requirements
    To see if your Mac works with AirDrop, make sure you’re in the Finder by clicking the desktop (the background area of your screen), or by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock. Then, check to see if AirDrop is listed as an option in the Go menu. If you don't see AirDrop listed, your Mac doesn't support this feature.
    In order to transfer files between a Mac and and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
    your iOS device needs to include a lightning connector
    your iOS device needs iOS 7 or later installed
    your Mac needs to be a 2012 or later model with OS X Yosemite installed
    Your Mac and iOS device both need bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on. You do not have to be connected to a specific Wi-Fi network.
    To transfer files between two Mac computers, you need the Mac models listed below with Wi-Fi turned on and OS X Lion or later installed.
    MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)*
    MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
    MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)*
    iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
    Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
    Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
    *The MacBook Pro (17-Inch Late 2008) and the white MacBook (Late 2008) do not support AirDrop.
    For help identifying your Mac, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu. You can refer to the Apple Support website to find out if your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch includes a lightning connector.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • Ipod touch bluetooth file transfer

    I recently asked about file transfer from an ipod touch to my Mac Mini (Lion 10.7.3) and the answer was it could not be done.  I am just an old retired mainframe systems programmer (well, Sun Solaris also) but I have dealt with a LOT of data transfer methods between computers with different architectures.  So my next question is DUH! why can't you do file transfers between an ipod touch and a mac  via Bluetooth ??!!

    Because Apple has chosen not to make this a feature of the ipod/iphone/ipad.

  • New update on itunes- no file transfer in adobe reader?

    I can not tranfer files from my computer into adobe reader on my ipad in the new itunes. There is no longer a left hand menu to go to apps and the new menu under apps just shows your apps but does not give any options for transfer.. please help. I transfered into ibooks first but need to take notes. Since the new update has changed itunes I can not find the options to trasfer my files.

    If you scroll down the Apps page you will find the the file transfer section further down the page. Although you have to have added an app that supports added files first.

  • File transfer problem from iTunes to BlueFire Reader

    With my iPad 2 attached to my Mac computer, I added an ebook (purchased from and downloaded to iTunes) to the file transfer list of files for use with my BlueFire Reader.
    The ebook concerned was transferred to my BlueFire app on the iPad.
    However, there is no cover and, when I open the book in BlueFire Reader, there is no text on any page. What am I doing wrong and can I fix this problem?
    Thank you.

    Thank you.
    I have iBooks installed but find with my poor eyesight that BlueFire Reader is easier to see.
    Hence my desire to transfer the ebook from iTunes or iBooks to BlueFire.

  • "Windows - No Disk" error message on file transfer

    Hello!
    I updated our ZDM7 server from plain old ZDM7 with no updates to ZDM7 SP1

    comes this error message:

    "Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 4 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c"
    [Cancel] [Try Again] [Continue]
    If I click "Continue" 4 times, file transfer starts up successfully.

  • How do you open Garageband for iPad files with Garageband?

    I was led to believe that Garageband could open up Garageband For iPad files, but not vice versa.
    However when a friend sent me his Garageband For iPad file, and I tried to open it, a "compatibility updater" started running then stopped halfway through and told me Garageband was "unable to complete the download" and directed me to go to Apple help.
    Here I am.
    Anybody got any idea how to open (and work on) this file?
    Tank you in advance.
    -Dave-id

    Apparently there were a two updaters I had to run first, before letting the compatability updater do it's thing.
    And since I got my Garageband for Mac through the APP store I could only do my updating through that.
    So if anyone else is having that same problem, update, update, update!

  • UCMA 4 and back to backing a file transfer request

    OK, I know that file transfer isn't technically supported on UCMA 4.0, but I wanted to take another look at it and see whether there was a way to b2b a file transfer request. After all, there's no reason that it shouldn't work if the messaging is correct,
    right? The scenario I have is A <-b2b-> app <-b2b->B.  I have an IM conversation going on between A and B, so now I'm trying to set it up so that A can send a file to B.
    So far I've extended the platform to accept file transfer requests by creating my own call and factory classes, and then registering them using RegisterPlatformExtension.  This means that when A sends a file, the INVITE gets delivered to my application.
    Now I'm taking that INVITE and creating a new b2b call.  A file transfer request looks something like this:
    TL_INFO(TF_PROTOCOL) [0]16A8.4B28::02/10/2015-19:53:05.007.001d492f (SIPStack,SIPAdminLog::ProtocolRecord::Flush:ProtocolRecord.cpp(265))[3939761282] $$begin_record

    I've got my b2bed invite looking almost identical to the original invite by creating a custom MIME type on the CallEstablishOptions for the back to back call using something like this:
    Regex r = new Regex(@"^((.|\n)*)(\<request)((.|\n)*)(request\>)((.|\n)*)$");
    Match m=r.Match(args.RequestData.GetMessageBodyString());
    content=string.Format("Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable\r\n{0}{1}{2}",m.Groups[3],m.Groups[4],m.Groups[6]);
    opt.CustomMimeParts.Add(new MimePartContentDescription(new ContentType("application/ms-filetransfer+xml"),System.Text.ASCIIEncoding.UTF8.GetBytes(content)));
    opt.CustomMimeParts[0].ContentDispositionHeader = new SignalingHeader("Content-Disposition", "render; handling=optional");
    So far the only differences I can see in my outbound message vs the original SDP are that the Content-Transfer-Encoding might not be seen as a header (since the SignalingHeaders property on the MimePartContentDescription is read only), and the Content-Transfer-Encoding
    on the first MIME part (created by the BackToBackCall) is missing (even though I specified it on the PassThroughHeaders).  Even with all of this though, I still get a 488 on client B when I attempt the transfer (even though the invite goes through).
    What I'm wondering though, is whether there's any way at all to get this working the way I'd expect, where a file gets transferred directly between A and B, without my bot having to receive it first.  The other approach I've looked at is binding my
    own media provider class to customize the SDP, but if this MIME part approach isn't going to work, then I have a feeling the media provider won't work either.
    Any suggestions on where to look next?
    Thanks!
    Chris

    Chris,
    I am trying to do something similar to this and from what I have read and in talking to MS is that you need to extend the Call and Flow class which it looks like you have been able to do. Could I bother you to share what you have written? Maybe we can help
    each other out on this. I am basically trying to create an application that will be able to capture a file transfer and save it, then send the original request on to the intended recipient.
    Thanks in advance,
    Anthony

  • MBP (mid-2009) freezing, slow installations and file transfer

    I bought the latest MacBook Pro model and installed Snow Leopard on a cleanly formatted hard drive. I have tried migrating via ethernet and FireWire from my iMac, but the migrations failed either due to freezing (via FireWire after roughly 24 hours of file transfer) or by an error message (ethernet with Migration Assistant).
    Only through a Time Machine backup was I able to transfer my account files to the MBP, which again totaled at over 20 hours of transferring. The system was a mess, clogged constantly by freezing and spinning beach balls of death for durations lasting around 10-20 seconds during which music would clip after 5-10 seconds of everything not responding, this being accentuated especially during installations. I decided to format and try anew.
    Now I've formatted the hard drive, installed Snow Leopard and will transfer my files manually onto a clean account. Installations take a long time although SL installation is within 30 minutes, iLife took 1.5 hours to install 5 GB. During the installation Safari stopped responding, as did the entire system, and the spinning beach ball would keep spinning. Watching a 480p trailer in Quicktime made the entire computer freeze up (no video/audio) for 10 seconds halfway. Transferring 136 GB (my Music folder) will take around 15 hours according to the estimate after 10 minutes of transferring.
    I've sold my iMac now and all I have are the files on my external hard drive. I want to get them onto my MBP ASAP but the slowness is preventing me from doing what needs to be done and it's very frustrating. When I try to boot into Hardware Testing by holding D down the computer doesn't do it no matter what (Application DVD in or not, plugged into power or not). I've tried resetting PRAM but I get the same inaction.
    Any ideas?
    Edit: I've done Disk Utility to no avail, it finds nothing wrong.

    Installed, still getting freezes with spinning beach balls. Transfer says it would take 1 hour opposed to that 15 hours, but it stops transferring after X amount of gigabytes (from 0.5 to 5), not do anything for a while and then continue, stretching the estimate to over 2 hours after some time. I don't know if this is just with the hard drive.
    The freeze-ups are frustrating as **** and make for a very poor experience. Any ideas to get to the bottom of this? I still haven't been able to boot into the Hardware Test no matter how much I try.
