IPad first generation wont charge. Any idea's

Please help my Ipad g1 wont charge anymore!! Is this a common fault ?

It could be a charger issue or could be an issue with the iPad itself. I would try another charger if you have one available. If that doesn't fix the issue I would take the iPad into an Apple Store and see what they can tell you.

Since I updated to iOS 8 my iPad 4th generation my iPad wont synch any media like music, movies or TV shows. I would guess it is charging but perhaps not showing that it's doing so.
You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

Then try activating using iTunes or another WiFi network. Or restart the iPad and start all over again.

How are you trying to charge it? It's best charged using its supplied power brick plugged into the wall. If you're trying to charge it via USB your results will be mediocre at best since most USB ports don't put out enough power. Same results if you are using an iPhone charger for your iPad.

Long story about what happened but basically I was using the iPad (first generation without retina display) to watch TV at one point it had 20% battery so I plugged it in then it wasn't charging and I didn't realize so it got to 5% and shut off. I plugged it in to charge it but it just kept shutting down and showing the apple logo, then briefly showing me my home screen before shutting off again. I waited a while to see if it would charge, while it continued to turn off and on by itself. Finally, I unplugged it to see if it had gotten any charge but it just told me to plug it in again. I plugged it into a different charger, same thing. I decided to try connecting it to a computer and it stopped turning on but it did not seem to charge. I tried restoring it as it said in the article. It worked until it got to restoring the iPad from the backup that I had because it immediately shutdown before I could continue. I tried to restore it a second time but still it shut down! I'm so frusturated and I cannot afford to get a new iPad, I need it for school and there is no Apple store for 80 miles nor do I have any insurance or warranty on it! (Obviously considering it's the first iPad to ever come out.) I really don't know what to do! HELP

Try holding the buttons longer--at least a minute or until you see the Apple logo light up.

Your PCs USB port is probably not capable of providing enough power to charge your iPad. It might be charging at a very slow rate and when your iPad is in sleep mode. Use the adapter provided with your iPad.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I Had an iPad first generation and I can't find app under iOS 5.......why And sometime m'y IPad close alone.

Apple requirements now ask to make them for iOS 7 and above. iPad 1 has become outdated and there are barely, if any, apps available for this device.
If your iPad restarts on it's own, try restoring to factory settings.

my lightning usb cable ripped so i whent and baught a new one it worked fine but after one day it took like 10 hours to completely charge now here i am now connecting my ipod to a wall outlet charger and it wont charge so im now connecting it to my computer and it still wont work any ideas people !

IPad first generation

I have an iPad first generation, any suggestions on a product that let's me listen to the music through my automobile speakers?

I assume you don't have a USB outlet in your car. That is by far the best option - no interference.
We used a device that takes the iPad music and transmits it to your car radio.
You plug your iPad into the device wih the normal USB cable. The device gets power from the cigarette lighter.
You tune your radio to the channel that your device is transmitting on.
We used that to drive across country and it worked great. The only problem is that it doesn't work well unless you have blank spots on your radio dial. In the DC area, there are so many stations that there was no unused place to dial the radio.
