Ipad freezes on software update

In trying to upgrade operating software for ipad vias itunes the ipad freezes witht he status bart at about 60%. Have tried restoring the sotware with the sane result. Any suggestions?

If your Mac is running v10.6.5 as your profile suggests, click the Apple () menu (top left in your screen) Software Update ...
Restart your Mac.
Restart your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Make sure the iPad battery is charged to 100%. It's faster to charge from a wall outlet then USB.
Now try updating your iPad.
If you still have problems repair permissions on your Mac.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.

Restart your Mac, try again.

Settings>General>Software Update is only available in IOS 5 and above.
If you are using IOS 4, you need to connect to iTune (computer) to update software.

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

IPad app store software update problem

My iPad app store icon indicates I need software updated. When I go to the app store all screens are working fine except the update software screen, which is blank. The "Updates" and "Search Store" bar is still at the top, as is the "featured" "top charts" "genius" "purchased" and "updates" bar at the bottom. I can easily navigate between the screens. But on this update page between the top and bottom is all white. I've tried shutting on and off, and tried resetting the iPad but neither option works.

IPhone 5 really slow, freezing since software update

I have been beyond disapponted with the iphone 5 thus far. When i initially got it it was very slow, especially using the keyboard in messaging, and did this weird thing where it would just randomly dim and then I could not the screen to fully illuminate again unless i completely restarted the phone. Then, after the first software update, I expected the problems to be solved but it only got worse!! My phone freezes daily, sometimes more, the apps are constantly just shutting down and am still having the keyboard slowness as well other werid malfunctions such as my text conversations from two different people merging into one.
Is there anything I can do??? I am a loyal apple customer and it really makes me sad to have to deal with this!

My husband and I both upgraded out iPhone 5s early today and we are not having any trouble. I thought it was an improvement in speed, much faster than it was. I'm sorry that's no help for you.

Freezing Nokia Software Updater

i have got a problem with the nokia software updater. anytime i launch it to update my n70 to the latest software it just freezes. i havent been able to load the latest firmware on my n70. any help will be greatly apprieciated.

i seem to have the same problem updating my nokia 6288. First i tried running the software on my xp machine but it said that there was insufficient memory to run the package (which is rubbish cause the machine has plenty of power).
Next, i tried the updater on my vista machine. It opens and runs (version 1.4.0 en) but then freezes. If i close and then open the updater a few more times then it manages to get to the next screen. But then it freezes on the "identifying connected phone screen" this is really annoying. The phone is connected correctly and is recognized by both the operating system in windows explorer and by the nokia pc suite so I can only assume that it is a bug with the nokia software updater.
Any help would be useful.

Mac mini freezes after software update install in leopard

hello,
ever since i purchased my mac mini 8 months ago, it freezes when installing a software update that requires a restart. it seems to get through the whole process, but then freezes with the default galaxy desktop (even though that is no longer my desktop) with nothing else on the screen. i have even tried doing installs over night, but it is still hanging at the galaxy screen when i wake up in the morning.
unfortunately i did not deal with this when i still had my warranty and would like to avoid purchasing apple care.

I have exactly the same problem. My mac-mini was purchased only a few months ago. I downloaded the most recent update recommended by software update. I don't remember everything that was in the update but it included several files providing support for various digital cameras and iphoto. My mac mini is frozen showing only a white screen.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

Why would an iPad version 4.3.5 not show software updates in general settings

because it was not there before iOS5. iOS5 is the first that can incrementally update the iOS on the idevice directly. The older versions must be updated via iTunes.

MBPro freezing on software update

I am not sure what caused this, but every time I try to restart or shut-down my MacBook Pro it gets stuck trying to do a software update. It is not freezing, per se, because the cursor can be moved around. All of the items in the Apple and Software Update menues are greyed out or not working. I have tried running another software update, clearing the Library/Updates folder, and repairing the permissions (As well as turning it off and on via the power button). None of this has worked. Any ideas or similar experiences?

- OS X version
- What kind of upgrade did you try to install?
For example, some Snow Lion users unintentionally downloaded the recent Firmware update; it works fine with Lion, but not with Snow Lion. If that's the case for you, the best solution would be to update to Lion.

Mac freezes on software update restart

Hi, I have had an ongoing problem with my macbook whereby after I install a software update, the mac freezes on the automatic restart and doesn't install. As a result, all of my software is over 12 months old and I can't use itunes without the other new software etc. I have tried installing the combo updates from the apple website and still no luck. I am only running Mac os X 10.5.2 as I can't install a newer version. I would be very grateful if anyone has any suggestions.
