IPad freezes when searching (or after using) Contacts app
My iPad freezes when searching contacts and sometimes shortly after I've use the Contacts app. The behavior doesn't appear to be predictable, except that the freezing only happens while using or shortly after using the Contacts app. Are there any fixes for this?
No fixes yet for anything software wise.
Try a restart. Shut off the iPad by holding the home button and the top right button until you see the shutdown screen. Then turn the iPad on and try the contacts again. You can also try to reset the ipad's software to factory settings and restoring it.
Do a fresh backup first.

My iPad freezes when I attempt to use it on an airplane. A hard reset doesnt fix the problem even after several attempts. Once the iPad has rebooted it gets stuck in reboot mode. Once I am on the ground it works perfectly again. Im wondering why this is happening?
I've never heard of this but if this is actually due to the aircraft, it's likely the pressure differential. On the ground we are at aobut 15PSI. Aircraft are pressurized to a max altitude of 8000 ft. or about 11PSI. That 3PSI difference could cause a problem for any components/assemblies that can't equalize and have an air pocket in them, i.e. your ears.
FYI, the max altitude spec for the iPad is 10,000 ft. so you shouldn't be having any problems. If this is repeatable, I'd return it for a warranty replacement. -

Still trying to figure out how to navigate these forum pages. For the last two consecutive days I have opened the default e-mail client on this iPad2 to find that the app will download all e-mail from my accounts and then freeze. I have to hit the power switch to shut off and then restart the iPad -the I can open my individual e-mails. Just like hitting control-alt-delete in the windows OS. Has the e-mail app been updated or something. I haven't knowingly changed anything. By the way , registering for forums is a pain in the butt - I ahink i have screwed up myz old user name and will attack that separately.

Also - this happens once and then after that I can run it ok for the rest of my session. Power down and reboot then try e-mail and it freees, power down reset and it is ok. Has only been for the last two days. -
Sometimes when using the Google search engine, after using the Back button in the Firefox 4.0.1 browser, I am no longer able to click in the Google search box.
This problems has been occurring on two different machines over the last two days.I think this may not be a browser problem but rather a Google problem.

Upgraded new iPad to iOS 5 after successfully using the machine for two weeks. The apps I downloaded are still here, checked for updates, all okay. However, when I try to use iBooks app or even USA Today, icon shakes, settles down then nothing else happens. Several tries, settings appear correct. Suggestions? Safari operates correctly, music icon matches (not from iTunes, simply music on my MacPro and iPod). Is Cloud the issue, perhaps? But everything worked before the upgrade. Using my home network. Hope this info suffices. Appreciate any guidance.
Problem solved. Saw the solution in a more recent post. Downloaded a free app, then all my other apps started to work again.

MacBook Pro 13" i7 2011 Freezing when I'm not using it.
I've got the 2011 MacBook Pro 13" i7 with 256GB SSD. It runs really2x fast and am very pleased with it. However, It has a weird issue... It totally freezes when I'm not using it sometimes. It's happened three times now and every time it freezes it would be when i left it for a while like seconds to 5 mins and when i get back it's already frozen. Note, it didn't freeze from coming from screensaver or sleep. How I left the screen is what I see when I get back. I can't move the cursor, the keys don't respond, when I close the lid it doesn't sleep. I'd have to press and hold the power button to force shut it down and boot up again.
I've already contacted Apple Support the second time it happened. The tech was friendly and we did some reseting of PRAM and stuff. I just put up iStat on my menubar to see if anything weird would show there if it ever freezes again after now the third time it happened!
Please help! This is annoying.

The sad thing is where I am, I don't think there are Apple replacements here yet. I had my mac bought in the US and brought by relatives all the way to the southern part of the Philippines.
It's just weird. I would understand more if my mac froze under a heavy task which so far it hasn't. I have run TWO Windows 7 instances: one Boot Camp, the other virtual, had a whole lot of applications running and while Even playing Star Craft 2! And it run so smoothly I was so impressed. It just so happens to hang when I leave it there doing nothing! ?? -
I've just upgraded my software to 10.8.5 and have discovered this morning that the autofill feature freezes when I try to use it. I have worked through all of the suggestions in HELP. The autofill prompt appears when I start to fill in a form but doesn't then provide the option box to select autofill from my contact card, the autofill prompt remains on the screen and can only be cleared by closing Safari and then reopening it. This never happened before and in fact autofill has been working perfectly up until now.
You can create another iCloud account easily enough, but you will only be able to create a new @icloud.com address to go with it, not @me.com - and you can't transfer your @me.com address from the other account.Creating a new account will have no effect on the existing one.
However you don't need to create a new iCloud account to create an additional ermail address. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

While you can delete aliases, you cannot delete the address you created when you opened the account. -
I use photoshop elements 12 on Macbook air and the screen freezes when I try to use the tools. Then i have to force quit so i lose my work. anyone know how to fix this issue?
What version of OS X are you using? If Yosemite, you need to update to 10.10.1 or higher.

FWIW, think I found a solution to this problem elsewhere on this forum. Go to Settings / General / Accessibility on your iPad. Check to see if you have enabled "Bold Text" and if so turn that off. The iPad now restarts. In my case (and others) things are now back to normal with iWorks file management functions.
I can now rename files, delete them, and do other file management tasks in all iWorks apps on iPad without the apps freezing or freezing the iPad. Would like to give credit to the user who posted that but can't find it at the moment - he claimed that an Apple Tech suggested the fix when he called about it, so they know about it and hopefully will get fixed eventually. -

Based on the limited info you provided, update iOS Nd the Skype app.
First reboot the iPad by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings -

I have the 1st generation ipod touch i installed an update which now it is 3.1.3 version i was able to put my apps on it but when i want to use the apps it will not let me use them. What do i need to do?
Does it happen with the apps that came with the iPod?
Does it happen with all apps you have downloaded/installed?
Have you ried deleting the apps and redownload/install the apps? You will not be charged again if you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased the apps.
Next would be to restore from backup
Last would be to restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
