Ipad full, but not... ?

I have an issue where the ipad fills up to near capacity, but itunes says there is 10gb of free space.  Synced multiple times, cleared cache, checked apps for space taken up, nothing adds up.  Forced to repeatedly restore.  Everything is up to date, seems ghost files are hidden? all streamed video somehow stored in cache?  I only have patience for one more restore.  Anyone with similar issue?

iPad Air 128GB Wi-Fi /  iOS 7.1 (current).
Likewise, same issue on an iPad Air.  Difference is noted between (1) iTunes while iPad is plugged in and (2) Settings > About > Capacity on the iPad.  Right now the difference between the two is 42GB.  I did find out earlier, if I rebooted the iPad it resolved the difference correctly, however, since the problem returns I would only consider it a partial fix and not a correction.  I've been able to continue adding to the iPad however iTunes does reportan overage while the iPad is connected.
As a side note, maybe connected or not, my Toast Titanium 11.x app has been incorrectly reporting disc capacity numbers during Blu-Ray disc burning - I've measured a difference of almost 6 GB - this DID affect the resulting discs as they ultimately failed.  (I'm only mentioning this info as part of this post because the one constant between the two is Mavericks (10.9.2).
As noted before, the iPad Air problem persists.

Books are downloading to IPad 2 but not fully loading on iPhone 4S.  Shows book cover but the download line never filled out and book remains shaded and unable to open, delete, or move.  Tried un/reinstall of iBooks, reboot phone, turning on/off, syncing.  Suggestions?

I contacted Apple support.  He had me unsync all books from my phone through itunes and then resync all books back to phone.  It work and all iBooks are now completely loaded.

  • The autofill feature worked on my iPad 2, but not on the New iPad. Anyone know why?

The autofill feature worked on my iPad 2, but not on the New iPad. Anyone know why?

Go to Settings>Safari>Auto Fill>On .... Names and Passwords>On .... Use Contact Info>On. Make sure that your contact information is correct.
Then quit Settings and Safari completely and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    See if that helps.

  • I can print from my iPad 3 but not from my new iPad mini which has a lower spec. What should I do?

Question. Why can I print from my iPad 3 but not from my new iPad mini which has a lower spec?

The "lower specs" have nothing to do at all with why you cannot print. Are you connected to the same Wi-Fi network that the printer & the iPad 3 is on?

  • Facetime Choppy on iPad 2 but not iPhone 4

My parents have been using their iPhone 4 to do Facetime with me both on my iMac and iPad 2 with no problems.  I bought them an iPad 2 so that they would have a larger display for Facetime.  Unfortunately, the video/audio is choppy on their iPad 2 but not on their iPhone 4.  Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot the problem?  I would think it's related to the router or their ISP's bandwidth, but their iPhone 4 works perfectly fine (e.g. no lag/choppiness).
    Thanks...

the ipad wifi unit is not that strong, and the camera is less than a meg.
Tell them to stand next to the router and turn on all light in the room, it should help alittle, but you never going to get the same quality as the iphone

It should sync the same if the songs are the same. You can try:
    - Unsyncing all music and resysncing
    - Restoring the iPod
BTW, yo posted in the iPod touch forum

  • Mail stopped working on iPad & iPhone, but not G5, after installing iOS 7.

Here we have a G5, an iPhone-4 and an iPad all linked to the same POP account.  Mail fetching on all three devices had been working fine.
Earlier this week (10/23 or 10/24), however, Mail on both the iPhone and the iPad quit working shortly after our having installed iOS 7 on each of them.   This could be a coincidence, but Mail on a G5 running 10.5.8 linked to the same account is still fetching and sending mail just fine.
Every time we swipe down on the message list (the gesture to fetch new mail) in Mail on the iPad, an error message appears,
    Cannot Get Mail
The user name or password for
    "Primary Mail Account" is incorrect
    Settings   |    OK
An analogous gesture on the iPhone produces the same message.
But Mail on the G5 (running 10.5.8) still works fine to fetch mail from the same POP account.
    Here are some details:
About two weeks ago, we installed iOS 7 on the iPad and the iPhone.  Mail continued to work after the installation.
About a week later, last Wednesday, 10/23, the iPad went through a spontaneous installation event, in which the multilingual series of "Hello!" images familiar to those who install Mac operating systems floated across the screen.  Apparently, this event installed iOS 7.0.3.  There followed a short series of initialization dialogs, then everything seemed to work OK.
Except that Mail wasn't working.  This could be a coincidence, but Mail on this iPad has not worked since last Wednesday.  The last message received is dated last Wednesday.
We don't know whether the iPhone went through a similar event, but Mail quit working on it, as well.  Mail on this iPhone now gets the same message, above, as on the iPad.  The last message received by the iPhone was last Thursday, 10/24.  The iPhone's iOS is now 7.0.2.  The iPhone says that iOS 7.0.3 is downloaded, but not yet installed.
We compared the settings for Mail on the G5, on which Mail is still working, against the settings on the iPad and the iPhone.  They all seem pretty much the same.
Have you heard of anyone else with this problem, or might you have an idea how to research it?
    --Gil

That worked!  A couple of notes for anyone with the same problem:
I thought I'd be clever and create a new account before deleting the old one.  That didn't work, as "Settings" kept insisting that the account had already been created.  I had actually to delete the old account and create a new one from nada.
I was careful to write down all the settings parameters first.  Even so, it took a few tries to get everything spelled right.  Fortunately, "Settings" checked everything carefully and its messages pointed to the right places.
I still got the same error message the first time i relaunched Mail.  However, this time I chose the "OK" option.  Since then and thereafter it seems to be working.
    Thanks for your help, lizdance40.

  • Why a video file is able to transfer to my iPad 2 but not my iPhone 4?

    Hi everyone,
I am experiencing a problem that is never happening before. There is a video file (MP4. H.264,AAC) which is normally support by my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 both devices. However when I sync it with my iPad, there is no problem with it at all. The video could play on iPad normally but when i sync the same file with my iPhone on the same laptop and same iTunes database, it is not working! And iTunes pop up a notification thats tell me "the file format is not support for yout iPhone". How could that happen??? I never have this problem before.
It is the matter because of the different iOS version? My iPad 2 is operating iOS 5.1.1 and my iPhone 4 is operating under iOS 4.3.3.
It is wired. Anybody could help me here?
    With many many thanks.

  • I want to send messages using my iPad Air  but not as iMessages

I Don't want to use iMessages but do want to be able to send messages (they can stay green) because I sometimes want to do the message but not to another apple user. I am unable to send any messages using the text bubble icon, or receive them to look back at them, except on my phone. Do I need to sync those somehow or changes settings. I have disabled "iMessage" in my settings! I could do this for a while but have had several changes since then trying to get my iPad to be what I need it for.

  • Artwork Shows up on Mac, iPad, iPhone, but not Windows

My main iTunes library resides on my home Mac. I access the library via an iPad Air, iPhone 5S, and a Dell PC running on Windows 7 Enterprise.
All of the songs have album artwork. All of the artwork shows up on the Mac, the iPad, and the iPhone. Much of the artwork does not show up on the Windows machine. The Mac & Windows box are running the most up-to-date version of iTunes.
I have tried enabling and disabling iTunes Match on the Windows machine. I've also completely uninstalled iTunes and removed all associated files from APPDATA, then reinstalle iTunes. No joy.
Our organization has a policy that doesn't permit the Bonjour service to run automatically. I have to restart it every morning when I come in. It used to be that restarting the Bonjour service and restarting iTunes would cause most, but not all, of the artwork to appear. Now that trick no longer works.
    Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi there Kenneth Kirksey,
I see that you are seeing some issues with the song and album artwork in iTunes Match. I have an article for you that can help you troubleshoot this issue, and it can be found below:
Songs or albums are missing artwork
If some songs or albums downloaded to an iOS device from your iCloud library are missing album artwork:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. You can download the latest version for free.
    Launch iTunes on your computer.
From the iTunes menu, choose Advanced > Get Album Artwork.
Once iTunes has completed processing the album artwork, you'll need to update iTunes Match.
From the iTunes menu, choose Store > Update iTunes Match.
Once iTunes Match has finished updating, launch the Music app on your iOS device.
Locate the songs that are missing artwork, and delete them from your device by swiping left over a song.
After you've deleted the song, download the item again from your iCloud library by tapping on the download icon.

I know we can make a Digital Publishing Suite app avalable for private distribution with an Adobe Enterprise account and an Apple Enterprise account.
But we have a client who wants to make an app available to the public for download on a company web page, but not have it available in the Apple App Store.

  • IPhone and iPad connected but not with iCloud??

When I updated to iOS 6.1, I was asked if I wanted to connect all devices. My mistake was selecting yes!
I have an iPhone and iPad I just got for Christmas; I was using the same email on both devices for iMessages but I hate receiving all messages on both devices.
So, I tried to change my email for iMessages on the iPad but when I tried to delete my current email, I received a message that says I will no longer be able to receive emails on any device!
How can I undo this? Please help!!

If the process isn't finishing for you there's not a lot you can do to force it. Perhaps a visit to the nearest Genius Bar? I don't know. Sorry I can't offer more constructive advice.
How long are you waiting on step 2? Depending on the size of your library and the speed of your internet it can take a few minutes, a few hours or even days.

  • Trying to upgrade to newest version of iPad software but not enough space on hard drive to backup the iPad. It is saying if I continue all content on iPad will be deleted! Can I get it back after uprade by just synching with itunes?

Trying to upgrade iPad software to newest version. It downloads but stops while backing up and says not enough space on hard drive to back up if i continue all media on iPad will be lostor deleted.  Can I get it back after upgrade by just synching or can I set it to backup to an external drive?  Thanks for any help.  I only use the laptop for itunes now as it has such little space left.

I would recommend deleting contents off your hard-drive to make space (how much is left..you should be having 15% free as a general practice) and backing up the phone prior to upgrading.
