Ipad Garageband doesn't recognize Apogee jam guitar input

I have recently bought an Apogee jam guitar input device. Device works with other software like Ampkit without problem. But garageband doesnt recognize the device as an input. When I hook in the device the monitor icon grays out and theres no input sound. The interesting thing, I can see green light on monitor icon blinking with every sound coming from guitar and audio recording device meter moves with it also. But when I press record it gives this error: "this device does not have an built-in audio input. You can not record audio ...". Any ideas? Mono is not enabled from settings so its not the cause of tgis issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have upgraded from iOS 4.3.5 to 5.0 and did a sync from itunes on my laptop. It did the trick. Now garaband is working with Apogee Jam without any problem.

Is the Apogee JAM Guitar Input compatible with the Macbook Air? Also, it says "Designed for electric guitar bass, and acoustic guitar works with pickup" -
does it work with a regular electric guitar?

Yes to both. It will work with all Apple products that run iOS or OSX and will input anything with a 1/4" jack.

  • Help!! Logic8 doesn't recognize Apogee Jam.

Hi im running logic8 with os10.6.8. i have apogee jam96k which is definitely communicating correctly with macbook and garageband but for some reason logic isn't finding it at all. it is not showing in the core audio options drop menu and the "apogee control panel" tab is greyed out too. I installed all the hardware drivers that came with the logic studio package. Any ideas?

Have you tried reaching out to Apogee Tech Support? They're usually really good about helping with this sort of stuff. support.apogeedigital.com

  • Suddenly iPad mini doesn't recognize my wifi

    IPad suddenly doesn't recognize wifi

Try to reboot your ipad? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try again
You can also try to power cycle your router. Unplug the power to the router, count to ten, plug it back in and let it reboot and try again.

  • GarageBand doesn't recognize my "one" mic.

THIS NEW VERSION OF GARAGE BAND!!!!!
IT DOESN'T RECOGNIZE MY "ONE" MIC AND QUITS EVERY TIME I TRY TO RECORD.  I HAVE A RADIO SHOW AND CANNOT DO IT.  I'M REALLY, REALLY, REALLY UPSET!!!  CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

    Judy,
when you installed GarageBand 10.0 the installer should have moved your GarageBand 6.0.5 to a subfolder in Applications. This version should still be working. If you are working on a tight schedule, use that GarageBand 6.0.5 version for the time being, to get your show done.
GargaeBand 10.0 seems to have a bug causing crashes, i.e. on 2007 models (iMac, MBP) and mid 2011 models. If you have one of these models, use GB '11, until there is a bug fix.
    See: GarageBand 10.0 crashes
If you are using older drivers for Audio interfaces or are using plug-ins for custom instruments and sound effects, check with manufacturer's for compatibility with GarageBand 10.0 and Mavericks.

  • My IPad 2 doesn't recognize the camera connection kit

My ipad2 does nit recognize my camera connection kit. Actually the kit is recognized but when I put the chip or plug in the USB camera cable nothing happens. I'm using a Sony Dsc-Tx10 camera. It worked before but now it doesn't. Please help. I'm trying to upload my pictures to my iPad.
    Thank you,
    Josie

Check it to make sure the card and tray are free of dirt or dust. (You can blow into the empty slot to clean out any dust.)
Put the SIM card back in the tray, and slide the tray back into the slot.

  • I can't download itunes movies to my iPad; it doesn't recognize the wifi.

I am trying to download a movie to my iPad.  I receive an error message each time telling me I must be connected to Wifi; however, I am connected.  My daughter is trying on our Apple TV and computer and receives the same error message.  We just performed the 5.1 update.  Could this be the problem?  Some internal conflict with the software?

Try it again now.  This was a system error on Apple's end....the message had nothing to do with what was wrong (and there was nothing wrong with your setup or system).
This started working again at about 8pm CST for me.
This affected rentals and purchases (for me it was on iTunes through my computer hard wired to a network).
If you look at the error message you'll notice that its a mix of upper case and lower case words and the message itself actually doesn't make much sense - my guess is that it was a meaningless error message created by developers during testing before....just a guess.

iPad mini lost my phone number. Only text from my email. How do I get it to recognize my phone number again

    Hello Feltongirl93,
The troulbeshooting steps outlined below detail how to get your phone number linked to your Apple ID.
If your phone number isn't listed on an iPod touch or iPad, follow these steps:

On your iPad or iPod touch, sign out of your Apple ID in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.

Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your iPhone.
When activation is complete, your Apple ID and all verified email addresses should be visible in Settings > Messages > Receive At and Settings > FaceTime.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your other iOS devices.

  • GarageBand doesn't recognize all of my AU plugins?

GarageBand is a fantastic tool, and it is very useful to me when making music. However, I recently decided to try some additional sound modules (KontaktPlayer, Crystal, and Alchemy were a few) and effects (Amplitube 3 Free, AmpLion, etc), and this is where the troubles started.
The effects went just fine. I installed them and could access them in GarageBand. I had less luck with the sound modules, though. For each one, I downloaded the appropriate file/folder, followed the installation instructions contained in each one, and then checked GarageBand. Out of the dozen or so that I tried to install, only one -Alchemy- made it through. All the others, which had each said something like "Installation successfully completed", were not in the dropdown list of sound modules on my MIDI instrument channel.
I then tried to put the appropriate files in the right folder manually. I went in Finder -> my hard drive -> Library -> Audio -> Plug-Ins -> Components and then pasted in the .component files. This did not work.
What am I missing?  I have searched the Internet and found many "tutorials" on installing virtual instrumets- very few of them have anything beyond "download the file and it will appear in GarageBand as though 'twere magic" (which is clearly not the case here), and those that did go beyond that all told me to paste the .component files in the location where they are currently sitting, unheeded by GarageBand. Am I putting them in the wrong location? Am I downloading/copying/pasting the wrong files? Am I not using the right magic words?
Any help would be appreciated. I have been trying to make this work for days, to no avail.

Thanks for your feedback! That was the very first video I ran into, actually. The issue was that when I went into that dropdown list, some of the AU plugins I had downloaded were present, and some were not, even though I had them all installed and in the same folder.
However, when I turned on my computer this morning and opened GarageBand, they were all there! Guess it just needed some time to find them. All's well that ends well!

  • My iPad 2 doesn't recognize my Apple ID

I'm not really sure what my issue is.  When I log into itunes with my desktop computer I use My Apple ID but when I log into my iPad 2 it shows me as having a differnt Apple ID.  How do I update my apple ID on my iPad 2 as it is not accurate?

To log into a different account for the stores on your iPad, tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'sign out' on the popup, and you can then log in with a different account.
If any apps (or other content) were downloaded by the account that is currently logged in then they will remain tied to that account, so only that account can download updates to those apps (and potentially redownload them).

  • IPad Air doesn't recognize podcasts I have already downloaded. When connected to my Mac, Podcast list is empty. I have tried transferring all my purchases to my Mac, but only apps

I have been transferring purchases, and recently, I decided to check if all of my purchases were really transferred. Unfortunately, some of my podcasts were skipped. The podcasts remain undetected when I click on the Podcast list under my iPad's name on iTunes. I have tried to make a new user account on my Mac then transferred the purchases. All my apps, books and songs were transferred, but those podcasts still did not transfer. I would like to know a way to reset my Podcasts app so that it would transfer those remaining podcasts. Some of my podcasts are no longer available on iTunes, and so it's impossible to download them again. Thanks in advance.

I have already solved the problem by using Macroplant's iExplorer. Thanks, Macroplant!

  • GarageBand does not recognize my electric guitar

I read through the other posts, but am still having a problem.
I am trying to connect my electric guitar using the audio-in in the back of my imac. I am not using any devices between my guitar and computer, and instead am trying to connect using a 1/4" Stereo Female to 1/8" Stereo Male plug adapter. I have also changed my GB Preference to Audio-In under the "Audio Midi" section. When I try to choose an amp and edit, the only input source options I get are "Mono 1 and 2(Built in mic), along with Stereo(Built in mic).
Obviously I'm doing something wrong. Not looking for professional sound, just more than the built in mic sound. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    HangTime,
    Thanks for the response.
Unfortunately, prior to posting the message, I had done what was listed in the GBFAQ. I had changed the settings in Garage Band as listed, then I opened up a new track. When my guitar is plugged in, the GB input source still only listed the built-in mic options.
Am I doing something else wrong?
And you're sure you're setting your Input in GB's Prefs to Built-in Input, because that would not give the built-in mic as an option in the Track Info Pane.
(Just a stab in the dark, I see you changed your OS info from 10.5.6 down to 10.4.8. Is that accurate? Because GB '08 and up has been incompatible with anything under 10.5).

  • When i synced with my ipad all my photos in iphoto on my macbook disappeared.  When I try to sync again, iphoto doesn't recognize the 1500 photos that are still on my ipad.  How do I get them back onto my macbook?

When I synced my iPad2 with my MacBook Pro, all my photos in iPhoto disappeared on my MacBook but remained on the iPad.  I want to get the back onto my MacBook, but when I connect the iPad, it doesn't recognize that the photos are there.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
