Ipad Gen3 lost screen when choosing to update an app -- what to do ?
When choosing to "update" an app my screen blacked out and now does nothing
Ipad is still on as Siri works, but, no screen output.
I am unable to power off either
Any suggestions
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

My iPad 2 will not allow me to update my apps. When I hit the update button I get a spinning circle but then it times out and doesn't update. In the past when I have updated successfully, the spinning circle would show me an indicator of time left on the update. I no longer have this Indicator. The circle just spins and times out and nothing happens. I've reset the iPad in the settings menu, reset the router, logged in and out of Apple id, powered ithe iPad off and on, and tried a couple other "fixes" that I've read online. So far no luck. AAny help would be greatly appreciated. Much thanks!
How much free space do you have? If it is low, installers may not be able to run properly.

My iPad works perfectly except when trying to update apps. Then I get a message that says "Cannot connect to the iTunes store."
Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.
If that doesn't solve it then what has worked for some people is going into Settings > General > Date & Time and change the date to a few months in the future and then re-trying -

I am also having the same issue on my nexus 7 with android 4.2.2.
Saving only works after one or two changes but it fails after more ones.
I confirm the saving dialog with save and then the saving animation keeps on spinning.
I also restarted the system, reinstalled the app, deleted the app data or logged in to creative cloud but nothing changed!

All of Apple's servers...including the activation servers are pretty much flooded with users like you doing the same thing. Be patient and keep at it...or wait till the traffic to them has decreased and then try again. Coming back to it tomorrow (if that's a viable option for you) will likely increase your chances of not having issues.

Go to Settings, General - ensure Restrictions are Enabled.
Also in settings, General Reset Network Settings.
You you then see Apple logo for a few moments.

any advices ?In the lower right corner of the App Store window is a round button with the image of a flag. Clicking that button takes you to a page where you can choose your country by flag. You may have to scroll to the bottom of the window to see the button. The country must match your billing address on record.

I really thought signing out would do because that works frequently for the unknown error message. Try these two things.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again.
Or this ... The old stand by....
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -

When I tried updating my apps it says invalid security code for my credit card.
Basically when I try updating an app it says to login. Ok say once I log in it makes me update billing info. When I put my cc info in (which has a 0$ balance) it says invalid security code. This is complete ********, I can't even download FREE apps OR update the ones I have. Im considering going back to android. This is ridiculous.
you cannot place a card on the account that has no balance to it...
you can hit the "None" option if you owe nothing to the itunes store

The nice part is that I work remotely, so I only have to wake up 15 minutes or so before the meeting.... If you have apps purchased from more than one account that need updating you have top update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. As the other replier said, you have to log into the account that purchased than app to update it.

When trying to update an app, it partially downloads and then displays the message "unable to download item" Please try again later. This happens on any app I try. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling with same results. What can I do?
I have the same thing happening on my iPod Touch 5th gen. Been happening for at least a month. I have updated to the most recent version of iOS which hasn't solved the issue. Must be a bug that they didn't get around to resolving yet, a year later. Really annoying to have it pop up when you are in the middle of a game though.
