IPad getting kicked off wireless network

i have a user that her IPad is constantly getting kicked off the wireless.  If it matters, her IPad is running OS5.
I'm getting the following from my AP controller:
the part in red is confusing me.

has anyone come across this and what can i do about it?
Thanks, Gary

If the iPad is bouncing between the networks, than that is likely an issue with the iPad wireless supplicant behavior. The error message in red above is likely due to the device switching with fast-ssid change disabled.
So, if we are more concerned with why the device keeps moving between networks, we should capture a bit more data. Running a longer client debug should give us some additional data points.
I've seen similar behavior with Apple devices when they "Remember" wifi networks -- sometimes you need to "Forget" other networks in the area to stop the device from associating to it automatically.
Also, version of WLC code are you running?

  • IPads were kicked off wireless network

We have 12 iPad2's that worked perfectly with the wifi on Friday, none will connect to the wifi on Monday?????  I have rebooted the school network, rebooted the iPads, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes on the laptop (yes the laptops connect to the wifi-before and after the reboot). any more ideas?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • Why do I keep getting kicked off wireless internet?

Hello- I keep getting kicked off of my wireless. Does anyone have any thoughts? Now, it's starting to occur more frequently- like every 20 minutes. Thanks

    Could be due to interference

  • RE: Getting Kicked off my network

After I leave my G4 alone for a while, I have been getting knocked off my network. I know there may be some interference problems with cordless phones where I line, but when I try to put the cursor over the grayed out network status strength icon, I get the spinning beachball of death. I can't force quit or do anything. I finally have to do a cold restart. It takes a while for the G4 to shut down. When I finally shut it down I don't get all my icons in the upper bar. I only get a piece of the bar and the spotlight icon. many munites later I get the isyn, blutooth etc.
Any thoughts? I have been reading that a lot of people have been having problems with the last security update causing lockups.
PS, I scanned for viruses and worms uping Calm Xam and came up negative.

I finally got the answer to my question. When my G4 goes into hibirnation mode the airport must get turned off as well. When I bring the G4 out of hibernation I had to restart. I disabled my hibernation to never, but I did leave the screen saver to start powering down within 15 minutes of non-use. This never happened in the 9 months that I owned the G4. There must be a bug in the system somewhere. Here is my case number in case Apple scans these posts.
Now I have netowrk anytime and no glitches.

  • Printer keep getting kicked off wireless router

HP B210 Printer is having problems keeping connected on a wireless router> I have already uninstalled/reinstalled the printer off the Laptops. It will work for a few days then quit working. Next idea should I try to Static IP the printer on the laptop. Or should move the Wireless router to another area. Thanks

Welcome back to the forums @914-965-4048
I read about the wireless disconnection issue you're facing with your Photosmart B210 model, and I wanted to comment with my suggestions. I would actually agree with you, and try assigning a static IP address, and also check the location of the router to see if that could be the problem.

  • I keep getting kicked off of my wifi with my MacBook Pro but not with my IPAD?

I keep getting kicked off of my wifi with my MacBook Pro but not with my IPAD, what do I do?

    Hi, mmayers.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router can correct the issue that you are experiencing.  However, the issue could be a little more complex.  Wi-Fi routers need adjustments to settings periodically for optimized performance with the constant progression of wireless device technology.  Below, I have included two articles.  The first article will cover basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting.  The second article covers the recommended settings for current Wi-Fi access points.

  • I am having trouble connecting to my network all of a sudden. It is not an issue with the service/router. I keep getting kicked off and getting a ! in my airport... anyone know what's up with this?

I am having trouble connecting to my network all of a sudden. I am able to connect to other networks but not my own. It is not an issue with the service/router because other devices connect fine. I keep getting kicked off and getting a ! in my airport. Last time it happended I called apple and the suggested I wipe my HD and reinstall everything. I did and it did not work. One day I turned my laptop on and it connected no problem. Now it has kicked me off again. I tried resetting my IP address but that does not work either! Has anyone had this problem?

    Try this:
Apple menu / System Preferences / Network.
Click Location: and select Edit Locations..
Click + (plus sign), and enter a name for the new location - anything will do.
    Apply this.

    That's called crashing.
Try a reset, no data will be lost:

  • Does anyone know how to get an ipad to use the wireless network from an airport?

Does anyone know how to get an Ipad to use the wireless network from an airport express?

By default, the AirPort Express will broadcast an unsecure wireless network with a Network Name of something like: Apple Network NNNNNN. Your iPad should "see" this network and be able to connect to it. Have you tried going through the iPad's Settings > Wi-Fi > Choose a Network... option. If so, does the AirPort's wireless network appear in the list of available networks?
Can other wireless devices connect to the AirPort's network?

  • My computer keeps getting kicked off wifi and says there is a connection timeout.

My computer keeps getting kicked off the wifi- it's not s problem with the wifi because all my other wireless products are working just fine. What could the problem be? It will connect for about 5 seconds and then says the there is a connection timeout.

Delete the Wi-Fi connection in the Network preference pane, then recreate it with the same settings. Any difference?

  • IMac Internet Connection Issues (Why do I keep getting kicked off?)

    Hi All.
I have a 24" aluminum iMac that doesn't like to stay connected to the internet via ethernet or Airport. I recently moved and am using a Clear modem that I am directly connected to via ethernet and the modem is functioning fine. My Mac will access the internet perfectly and then then next morning not have a connection at all. Diagnostics fail at Network Settings.
I have renewed my DHCP lease, restarted both comp and modem...jumped through all the hoops with a Clear rep. Still nothing. Not using any routers or 3rd party devices to connect unless using the Airport.
We have free internet where we live and my Airport will detect the router, but will not connect to the internet. The airport reads full signal strength, so there should be no issue. I have not changed my firewall or privacy settings, so there should be no issue there either. I did recently upgrade my Firefox application.
With both the Airport and ethernet I seemed to just be getting "kicked off" the internet. Each time I get kicked off, reconnecting is more of a chore...Please help Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

    Hi Rick.
I have Clear internet service, which does not run via cable or telephone line. I assume it is DSL. My Mac acted the same when I was on cable though, only the connection always come back after resetting the linksys router I had at the time. It only seems to drop the connection after waking from sleep mode.
I am using a standard ethernet cable. At times, in the Network portion of System Preferences, the status of my ethernet reads "unplugged" when the ethernet cord is still connected.
I double checked the connection speed within the network utility, as you suggested, and everything looks as it should.
The wireless situation...I do not have control over the router. It is free wireless via a linksys router in our apartment complex (only 5 or 6 units). I have never been able to connect to this but the other computers in the household pick up the signal perfectly.
Thanks for your help Rick. I appreciate it very much.
    V.
