IPad - Grouping Videos Into Folders

I can import pictures into my iPad in groups or folders, but videos end up in a long play list.
I use my iPad for business and do not want to search through 100 videos or so to find a specific one.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

It is advertised that iOS4 allows grouping apps into folders:
Folders
Folders are the best way to keep your apps organized and easily accessible. To create a folder, you simply touch and hold an app until it wiggles, then drag it on top of another. iOS 4 automatically assigns a name to your folder based on the category of the apps inside it, or you can choose your own name. To access your apps, just tap the folder to bring up its contents, then tap the app to open it. Simple. Learn more about folders.
It also says you can organize photos by:
Organize photos by Places.
iPhone 4 geotags your photos as you take them. So you can browse them based on where they were taken. To see all the photos you took in London, for example, tap the Places button, then tap the pin on London. You can even zoom in on the map to see places within London where you took pictures, such as Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, or other landmarks.
Organize photos by Faces.
iPhone works seamlessly with Faces in iPhoto for the Mac, so you can view your photos organized not only by event or place but also by who’s in them. Say you want to see pictures of your best friend. Tap her picture in Faces view to open an album containing photos of her.
Nothing about photo folders.

How do you group documents into folders on iPad Adobe Reader

You make a folder first, then you move files into the folder.
Start with the Documents on the left. Click the Edit button (upper right). Click the Add Folder button (folder with + icon). Name the folder.
Then Click the Edit button, if necessary. Click on the names of files (you'll see checkboxes). Then click the Add to Folder button (arrow into folder icon).

  • No longer able to group applications into folders in the Applications folder?

I would like to group applications in Folders in the Applications Folder, which I have dragged back to to the dock.  This is the way I had managed apps in Snow Leopard.  I can create folders no problem, but when I try to drag apps into these folders, a copy is always left behind in the Applications folder.  How do I move the app?   I am not able to delete the copies that are left behind.
My Account has Admin rights, and this is a clean install into an empty partition....I wanted to check out Lion before moving from SL.
Launchpad is pretty, but I prefer the Applications Folder.

It does cause problems in a number of circumstances.
In this forum alone, there are several threads with many users who used Setup Assistant or Migration Assistant to transfer their stuff, ended up with lots of duplicate apps because of it, and had great difficulty finding and deleting the duplicates.
There have also been folks whose apps did't get updated, and Adobe apps that wouldn't run at all.
Again, it depends on the apps and circumstances.

  • Spent an hour organizing my apps into folders and the iPad undid it all!?!?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I was very excited to finally be able to organize my apps into folders as I had tons of them and they wretched to navigate. I spent a long time getting them all set and where I wanted them and down to 2 pages total. I plugged the iPad in to charge using a wall charger (the one it came with) and 3 hours later the folders were all gone! I found this to be incredibly frustrating and among the worst experiences I've had with an apple product. My iPhone 4 certainly did not dump all its folders...

There is a secret as to why you are losing your folder arrangements.
They can automatically unpack on a sync.
We should all know there are screens off to the right of the valid eleven home pages. If your last page is full of icons and you inadvertently add another something is shoved off to the right. If you move home screens around using iTunes this also happens.
If any icon filled with apps falls off to the right it will unpack and make a mess. If you move a home page filled with folders which are filled with icons around you can lose them all as they will unpack when you sync to iTunes.
The best choice is to take the right most page and *MAKE SURE NO FOLDERS ARE EVER IN THE RIGHT MOST PAGE*. That gives you safety room from inadvertently scooting one or more folders into higher number screens. I place a few standard apps in the right most page to hold it in place.
    *CREATING FOLDERS*
Second you are safer building your folders on the device itself. To do this I move everything off the bottom bar and use it as a placeholder (bus)to shuttle apps around as I figure out what group they should be added to. I have over 800 apps in 22 GB on the iPad now. Things are well organized and nice looking when scanning the home pages.
When setting it up I just added all the apps at once. Then as I made room on the home screens I paused made sure my 'bus' was empty, then shut down the iPad to power off and back on again. This cleans up memory and on reboot the iPad will add as many of the hidden apps to the space on your eleven home pages. There after it became a session of rinse and repeat until all the apps I wanted where filed away and arranged.
    Use meaningful folder names.
    *Apps from *****
There are some real junk apps that some how I managed to grab in the past. Others are surpassed by obviously more powerful and functional apps that have recently appeared so there is no sense in keeping them. If you delete them off the iPad they will reappear on the next sync unless you delete them from iTunes.
How do you remember to delete them from iTunes too? When I get to the delete confirmation screen I take a screenshot which is stored in my Photos roll. Then I browse that roll while before the computer and find each app that needs to be permanently deleted. After deleting it from the PC I then delete the reminder picture from the iPad.

  • My iPad is logged into my iCloud account, but my wife's iTunes. I have uploaded video footage from my iPhone to my iCloud. It appears on the iPad but is not accessible in iMovie? What's the fix?

You shouldn't have to change your iTunes account to not have to purchase it twice.  If your devices are using different iTunes IDs, just purchase it on one device, then import it to your iTunes library by connecting the device to your computer, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.  Once in iTunes, you should be able to sync it to your other device (assuming both devices are syncing with the same iTunes library).  (And even if they were syncing with separate libraries, you could use Home Sharing to copy the app from one library to the other.)
    Or, am I missunderstanding something?

  • Drag and drop files into folders in iPad reader? or iTunes?

is it possible to drag and drop files into folders in iPad reader? or iTunes?  It is very clunkey to have to click each separate file to instruct it to move to the folder.  Better still, can I just sync an existing folder on my hard drive so the pdf's inside always remain up to date on my iPad?

There is no way to drag and drop in Reader on an iPad.
There is no way to sync PDFs in a folder on your hard drive to those inside of Reader.
There are readers (which are NOT free) which let you do some of these things and have more capabilities. You might check out PDF Expert from Readdle which costs $9.99 US.

  • When using Windows MS Word, you can insert an object such as a video into your document - can anyone tell me how to do that with Pages on an iPad please?  Thanks!

    Hi
When I was a PC user, I could insert an object such as a video into my MS Word document - and it would appear as an icon, which when clicked, would begin to play the video.
I find that I cannot insert such videos/movies into my Pages document on my iPad, but maybe I am missing something, being new to the Apple way of doing things?:)  Would appreciate any help, thanks!

    "maybe I am missing something"
    Maybe you are.
This forum/community is named "AppleWorks" because it is intended to discuss issues and techniques involving the now discontinued Apple productivity application AppleWorks.
Your question concerns Pages, and specifically, Pages for iOS, the version that runs on iPad (and other iOS devices).
Admittedly, the Pages for iOS community is difficult to locate. It's rolled in with the other iWork applications in a community named iWork for iOS, where you'll find several people willing and able to answer your question. The link will take you there.

  • Import photos and video into different folders

Hi, is there any way to import photos and videos into seperate folders?
I use lightroom to manage my photos and videos, but the videos are much larger so I prefer they are stored in a different location.
I can import them together and drag the photos to a new folder, but this does not create the same folder heirarchy as importing them would.
Currently I import once for photos and onece for videos, but I'd prefer to just "import"
    Thanks!

This plugin from Rob Cole might do what you're after http://www.robcole.com/Rob/ProductsAndServices/ImporterLrPlugin/index.cfm

  • How can i move several emails into folders in ipad?

How can i move several emails into folders in ipad?

You can sort by using the search feature. When you are in your mail account you use the search bar at the top to find emails from a particular sender (there are Other options as well in search). Type in that sender's address. When the emails show up in the window on the left side, select all of the emails that you want to move. Tap Edit at the bottom and the Move Folder icon will appear. Tap that icon and select the folder that you want to move the emails into.
To move multiple emails without using the search to sort, go to your inbox and tap Edit. Then select all of the emails that you want to move. After you are done selecting them, tap the Move icon at the bottom on the left side of the account window. When you tap move, you get a choice of folder into which you can place the selected emails.

  • When i moved emails into folders on my ipad and went to retrieve them later they were deleted

I use yahoo for my email account and have this acocunt set up on my ipad.  I have folders that I use.  When I moved emails into a folder on my ipad and went to retrieve them at a later date they were deleted.  I accessed my yahoo account from my computer and they weren't there.  When I opened the folder on my ipad the email was there for a second and then it checked for updates and the emails disappeared.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
iCloud doesn't back up your emails on iCloud. If you have Mail turned on in Settings > iCloud, it just means that you are using your @icloud.com or @me.com mail account on the iPad. In this case, all the mails you receive onto the iCloud mail address are stored on iCloud. iCloud uses IMAP, so if you delete a mail from one device or computer, it will be deleted from all other computers and devices. Unfortunately, you can't recover emails

  • Embedding clipped Youtube video into Keynote on iPad?

Is it possible to embed a clipped youtube video into a keynote presentation on the ipad? I know how to do it in Powerpoint, but that doesn't help me as I don't have powerpoint at home and am having to rely on trying to do it with Keynote on my ipad.
    Thanks!

Two possibilities I can think of. MAke sure that the side button on your ipad is set to screen lock & not mute. If it is set to mute, you'll need to slide it to unmute it before the speaker will work. Otherwise, it sounds like some kind of software glitch. I'd do a reset (I think you hold down the power button & the button on the top for like 10 seconds, until you get the screen asking if you want to turn your ipad off. Follow through, give it a few seconds, then restart it.

  • Group Video Call on iPhone and iPad

I've been waiting for years for skype to have group video call on iOS.
There's only group voice call It'd be really awesome if you guys finally have group video call, too !

  • Camera not an Option in Group Video Chat

Hi there.  I have a regular account with a Mac OS X.  For some reason, in Group Video Chats, the option to turn on your camera isn't available.  Any help would be appreciated.  My Skype doesn't need to be updated either.

    Hi all,
I've been using skype for years and years, and recently, I've gotten into a habit of doing group voice and video calls with friends.  We rarely use video but on occasion, it can be a nice way to show something as part of a conversation.
This group has close to a hundred people, but it's usually 3 or 4 of us on the call at any particular time.
Even running the latest Skype application version, when my Windows friends can click the video button at their liesure, my mac version, and iPhone/iPad version (although that's somewhat expected), does not show a video icon at all.  Nothing.
If I take the same people in the call and start a NEW group and then start a call, or someone else starts a new call, I have a video icon and can use my webcam normally.
What gives?  Why is mac limited for some reason?  It's very, very frustrating
