Hello Maryannebrabander
Start with the troubleshooting steps in the article below to sort out issues with messages hanging out in the outbox.
iOS: Troubleshooting Mail
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3899
Try these basic troubleshooting steps first
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage (try any webpage). If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you are unable to load a webpage, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Try to use an alternate Internet connection if available:
Try a different Wi-Fi connection
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If the affected email account is provided by your Internet provider, see if your issue is resolved while connected to your home Wi-Fi network.*
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.
Regards,
-Norm G.

Unused Ipad has been sitting around a long time without being plugged in... when I plug it in nothing happens... help!
Give it time. Half an hour at least. If your battery is totally flat it has to build up some charge before it'll even chirp at you.
Plug it in over night and see what happens. If it's still dead then, you can try a different charger to make sure that's not bad. If that doesn't work, then it may be dead, Jim -
For some odd reason - none of my email messages get sent out from my iPhone anymore.
Everything used to work just fine. I never made any adjustments to any settings.
All of my mail since this past weekend just sits in my outbox and never gets sent out.
I have a .mac account email and its the only email service I have.
What can I do to fix this?
What went wrong?Sounds like your ISP has started blocking the SMTP port for outgoing email. I don't know which ports .mac supports, but that is what you need to find out.

Error message; messages sitting in Outbox
I have been trying to send some e-mails today but I keep getting an error message that says, "This message could not be delivered and will remain in your outbox until it can be delivered. The server 'smtp.mac.com' cannot be contacted on port 587." I changed my port to 993 and one message seemed to go but the rest remain. I don't understand why this is a problem all of a sudden. I send e-mails every day with Mail on both my MBP and iMac. Funny thing though. I checked what port my iMac was using and it was 993 while my MBP has been using 587. I don't even know what half of this stuff means. Can somebody please help.
Turn SSL off for .Mac's SMTP server and try ports 587 and 25 for SMTP.
"Ports" can be compared to television programs. There is one cable connected to your TV, but there are lots of programs on that cable. Same with your Mac: there is one "cable" (maybe this "cable" is Airport), but there are many "programs" (ports) on that "cable". These ports are used to run different services (on different ports) on one and the same machine. -
Hi. Not sure what happened but I was able to use my ipad in December and it was backed up(sync with itunes). Now there is a message on the screen "iCloud Backup.....your icloud hasn't been backed up in 3 weeks...." and to click on ok.
I'm unable to clear the message. I syned it with itunes and tried again but its still there and I can't do anything with the ipad. The ipad go blank in a couple seconds, and I cannot use slide to unlock.
Can someone please help me with this.
Thank you,

Mail won't send. Just sits in outbox
Mail does not send. Messages sit in outbox. Account settings have not been altered. I don't get any error messages when I hit send button.
What email provider are you using? It appears your outgoing mail server is incorrect. One possible solution is to delete the account and add it again.

How did you erase your account? A lot of people would like to know. No one has found a way of erasing an Apple id account.

I have been away for 2 weeks and a message appears on my iPad which is preventing me open my iPad. "iCloud backup. This iPad has not been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked and connected to Wi-Fi" Help?
What do I do to get rid of this message as it is preventing me accessing the iPad or closing it down?
Thanks

Hold Sleep and Home buttons for 10 seconds until your device restarts, so you will be able to use your device again. Finally, open Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, and make a backup. The device will be backed up when it's plugged to the charger and connected to your network -
My iPad has a message iCloud not backed up in 5 weeks. I can not get the message to go away so that I can connect to Wi-Fi. I have a full charge on the iPad. Thanks, Maui LL
Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

I keep getting a message that my iPad has not been backed up to icloud
I keep getting a message on my iPad that my iPad 3 running iOS 6.0.1 has not been backed up to iCloud for 2 or 3 weeks even though Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup indicates that the iPad has been backed up that very same day. Generally the iPad backs up every day, automatically, when plugged in and locked. I get the messages about once per week.
Another iPad 2, running iOS 5 backs up to the iCloud on the same account and we get no similar messages on this iPad.
To be on the safe side I also backup both iPads to iTunes at least once per week.
Anyone have any ideas why this is happening.synching your iPhone to your computer has nothing to do with iCloud backups.
Force an iCloud backup: Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup>Back up Now
Be sure that Settings>iCloud>Storeage and Backup>iCloud Backup> is ON -
My IPad screen is frozen with a message stating that the IPad has not been backed up to the ICloud for 7 weeks, this is not correct. I cannot get the messageto clear and cannot access any of the other icons; is there an emergency reboot process?
Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost. -
