IPad has update software but will not work with iMac with updated software

I have the iPad running the 5.1.1 and when the iPad is plugged into the wife's new iMac running iTunes 10.6 I get a message
The iPad “Ase’s iPad” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.5 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes.
I check the iTunes and it's at 10.6, and iTunes will not even recognize the iPad under devices.
Again while plugging in the wife's iPhone you get the following:

Again the iTunes is at 10.6
Any help with this? Do I remove the iTunes completely?
Shouldn't be this hard.

Locate the iTunes app in Applications folder, highlight it and type Command I (I as in Ivan) and look to see what version is installed. If it's still 10.4 then navigate to
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1426?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Then download and install following the on-screen directions. Once it installed it wouldn't hurt to restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches, it's possible one or more is corrupt.

Ipad has wifi connection but will not download

Hi, I'm having an issue with my Ipad 2 iOS 7.1.2, it only started happening last night. IPad can see and is joined to wifi but will not download or send anything. Always times out after spinning wheel.
Have tried connecting to and joined, various wifi routers in other houses. So know it's not the router. Still no Download or send.
Have done a hard reset.
Have reset the network settings.
Any other suggestions. I'm at a bit of a loss.
Oh and the iPad is away from my mac so can not reinstall or restore.

It sounds like you are unable to access the internet on your iPad, but you are indeed connected to a Wi-Fi network. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article to help you get that resolved:

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Restart your iOS device.

Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Unable to access the Internet while connected to Wi-Fi
If you're using a public or commercial network, you may need to log in or subscribe.
Check to see if you have a self-assigned IP address:
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected and tap .
If your IP address is 169.254.xxx.xxx, you may not be able to access the Internet.
If you do not have a self-assigned IP address, see if other Wi-Fi devices on your network have Internet access.

If they do, reset network settings on your device by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:

MyDAQ passes Self-Test but will not work with any software

Hello,
I am currently having issues getting the myDAQ to interface with ELVISmx Instruments. My first attempt followed the included white paper step by step. When that did not work I moved on and tried installing (one at a time of course) several different versions of ELVISmx (14.0, 4.5, 4.3.2, 4.3.1, 4.2.1, and 4.1) and none of them have been able to interface correctly with the hardware. Additionally, I have tried installing the entire LabView suite provided by Georgia Institute of Technology, and several other NI applications associated with the myDAQ on the white paper.
The software installs have all completed successfully, the ELVSImx instrument launcher launches; however when I click on the DMM tool, or any other one, the application fails to load. A loading window pops up and the blue status bar scrolls but nothing ever happens. The application window never launches. I let it run over night thinking it might be confused or just really slow but nothing changed in the morning. The only way to exit out of the window is to end the task in the task manager.
In NI MAX, the hardware is recognized correctly and the "self test" feature returns that the myDAQ is functioning correctly. I have checked the Event Viewer for Windows applications and there do not appear to be any errors associated to any NI software.
I have exhausted all my resources in trying to get this to work but all of have done is frustrate myself and everyone I speak to about the issue.

The myDAQ requires the NI DAQmx drivers as well as NI ELVISmx. Have you tried installing NI DAQmx?

Adobe Flash playaer 10 works with Chrome but when I try to use it in Internet Explorer it
says I do not have it installed but I do.

I'm sorry but I couldn't find publish settings under file in explorer. Is file in another place. I did input file in my search and found change temporary internet file settings. Under programs, manage add ons. Scrolled to "shock wave flash object under Adobe and found it was disabled. Changed to enabled and now it works fine. Thanks for your help.

The iPad 2 can lock orientation in one of two ways. Double-click the home button to display the recently used apps bar. Flick right until you reach the left end and you'll see the orientation lock.
You can use the Side Switch to lock screen orientation or to silence notifications and sound effects.
To lock the screen in portrait or landscape orientation: Choose Settings > General > Use the Side Switch..., then tap Lock Rotation.

How did you buy iPhoto? Did it come preinstalled on your computer with Lion or later, or did it come with Snowleopard on system installer disks?
Which version of iPhoto?
If you have a version of iPhoto '11 and it is showing on the Purchased tab of the App Store, with your Apple ID, then delete iPhoto from the Applications folder (don't empty the Trash) and download iPhoto again from the Purchased tab.
If that does not work, contact The App Store Support from the Quick Links on the AppStore main page.
Only apple Support can fix problems with apple ID.

Also, sometimes it drops out of apps, ie facebook etc. just like you have hit the stop button

Who replaced the battery? If it wasn't Apple the replacement is probably bad also. Either that, or the logic board is bad.

MyDAQ fails Self-Test and will not work with any software

I cannot get the myDAQ to communicate properly. I did everything I could to make sure that the device was detected by the computer. It shows up in Device Manager under Data Acquistition Devices as NI myDAQ and in NI MAX as "myDAQ1", but I receive errors when trying to use it with any NI program.
Trying to self-test or reset the device in MAX gives these errors:
-The self test failed. -88705 The specified device is not present or is not active in the system. The device may not be installed on this system, may have been unplugged, or may not be installed correctly.
-There was a problem resetting the device. Error code: 80040383.
It also gives this error when trying to use the Elvis Oscilloscope:
-Error -200324 occurred at ELVISmx_DAQmx Create Channel (AI-Voltage-Basic).vi:1
Possible reason(s):
NI-DAQmx is unable to communicate with the device. Make sure the device is present in and accessible to the system, is not currently being reset, and is not reserved by another driver such as Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy).
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and repaired all installed NI products twice. I updated to NI-DAQmx 9.8.0 and am using NI Elvis 4.5. I have checked NI Device Loader and mDNS Responder Service in Services and everything is running properly. I have also tried Reset Configuration Data in NI MAX several times. I turned Fast Startup off as suggested in one article. I have tried plugging it into every single USB port on my computer; all 8 of them. The blue led is on when plugged in, but I cannot figure out why it will not work with any of the software. I am running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. Also, it completely works on the school computers running Windows 7 without any problems. I would like to have it functioning with all the NI software purchased, but all I want to do is use the oscilloscope software for now. It has honestly been way too much work and a huge loss of time for something that should work out of the box. Please help me resolve this, thanks.

I had already read that article so it wasn't anything I hadn't tried. I did, however, uninstall both NI DAQmx and NI ELVISmx, ran the registry cleaner and then plugged my device in. Now it shows up as USB Flash Firmware Updater. This is actually what it showed the first time I plugged this in out of the box. After much troubleshooting I was finally able to get it to at least recognize it as a myDAQ. This is problem I know others have had.
To answer your questions:
Does the Test Panels work at all?
I am not sure, I didn't try it before uninstalling. Now the Test Panels isn't an option because it is recognized as the Flash Firmware Updater.
Have you tried to delete the device in MAX?
Once again, I cannot because it shows up as Flash Firmware Updater.
Which is the color of the icon on the left side of “myDAQ1”?
It was green before the uninstall. Now it shows the USB symbol.
I tried deleting the driver. When I plugged the device back it, Windows started automatically trying to load a driver for it. Now it shows as NI myDAQ with a yellow exclamation symbol. In MAX it shows as NI myDAQ with a USB symbol. Under Driver Details it says "Windows does not have a driver associated with your device."
What folder can I manually point Device Manager to in order to load the correct driver?

You may need many other updates to retain compatibility with Lion. I suggest you reinstall Snow Leopard. Unfortunately, you will need to erase the drive first. Be sure to backup your data if you haven't done so already.
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
     1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
         with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
         After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
         a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
     2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
         button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
         After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
         size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
         partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
         and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
         (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
     3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
         with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
     4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
         Assistant. After you finish Setup Assistant will complete the installation after which
         you will be running a fresh install of OS X. You can now begin the update process
         by opening Software Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your
         installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

I have a Macbook and iPhone and like to back up to iCloud. However, my work computer runs Outlook 2003, which I know will not work with the iCloud. The company has no plans to update anytime soon. Since the calendar and contact list on my office computer are my primay ones, I hard sync through iTunes. The problem is that any data synced from Outlook 2003 to the iPhone from iTunes does NOT later backup to iCloud. Is there a solution?

There's two different versions of Flash. The ActiveX version for IE, and the Plugin version for other browsers. Did you install the correct version? This forum's software doesn't thing that Flash is installed for Firefox or the Plugin is disabled.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here:

Save it to your Desktop. 
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit 
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed,

3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
