Ipad has wifi connection but will not download
Hi, I'm having an issue with my Ipad 2 iOS 7.1.2, it only started happening last night. IPad can see and is joined to wifi but will not download or send anything. Always times out after spinning wheel.
Have tried connecting to and joined, various wifi routers in other houses. So know it's not the router. Still no Download or send.
Have done a hard reset.
Have reset the network settings.
Any other suggestions. I'm at a bit of a loss.
Oh and the iPad is away from my mac so can not reinstall or restore.

It sounds like you are unable to access the internet on your iPad, but you are indeed connected to a Wi-Fi network. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article to help you get that resolved:

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Unable to access the Internet while connected to Wi-Fi
If you're using a public or commercial network, you may need to log in or subscribe.
Check to see if you have a self-assigned IP address:
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected and tap .
If your IP address is 169.254.xxx.xxx, you may not be able to access the Internet.
If you do not have a self-assigned IP address, see if other Wi-Fi devices on your network have Internet access.
If they do not, consult with your network administrator or ISP for further assistance.
If they do, reset network settings on your device by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings

Shouldn't be this hard.Locate the iTunes app in Applications folder, highlight it and type Command I (I as in Ivan) and look to see what version is installed. If it's still 10.4 then navigate to

Then download and install following the on-screen directions. Once it installed it wouldn't hurt to restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches, it's possible one or more is corrupt. -
Correct IPad PW for apps but will not download or install only installs via desktop
Sequence is select Free, enter PW, shows installing, then goes back to free button without installing. My password is correct my ID is correct. This occurs on both iPhone and iPad but allows me to access the apps via my desktop and then sync.
Please try the following. Go to Settings->iTunes & App Store
Tap on your Apple ID at the top of the screen and select 'Sign Out' then re-enter your details and click Sign In, was it successful?
If so try downloading again.

I have a MacBook Pro. My mac can detect wifi. But will not connect anywhere. I did get connected via TCP/IP settings but I can't connect to any wifi anywhere. Network diagnostic has a green light for wi-fi and wi-fi settings. Red light for the rest. (Network settings, ISP, Internet and server.)

Certain wifi's will not work on my iPad, it shows it's connected but will not connect.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

My phone will not let me download the most recent update for iOS 7.1. It says I need a wifi connection and will not allow me to push the 'Download & Install' button, even when I am at home and my wifi is on. How do I fix this?
Unfortunately yes, though technology would never move on if it kept to older standards and did not strive to do more.
The app store always gives you the option to use a previous version of the app IF it is available for your device.

I purchased music on my iPad (and it works fine). It populated my purchased list on my home computer but will not download (purchase is no longer a given option) ?? when I access it in the iTunes store I can click on play but nothing happens…how do I get it to download on my computer ?
If you connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases then it should copy over to your iTunes library. Depending upon what country that you are in you might also be able to redownload it on your computer's iTunes via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage.

There is a TV series season that itunes identifies as PURCHASED but will not download as it says it has already been downloaded but I have no idea where the initial download is. Anyone know how to fix this?

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. The music will show up on my iPad and on iTunes but will not show up on iPhone 4. My wife has the same issue with the 4S and both phones have been like this since we bought them. Everything synchs but music. The synch music box is checked. Any ideas????????

My Ipod will sync with itunes but will not download newly purchased songs. It is Ipod nano 2nd gen.
If you want to use automatic syncing, you may need to set up or update the iPod's Music sync settings in iTunes. If the new songs are not included in what gets synced to the iPod, they will not sync.
If the sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. The iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES. Select it there, to show its Summary screen to the right. Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons, starting with Summary. Click on Music next to Summary. This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music, if not already checked. This is the "switch" to enable automatic syncing for songs.
NOTE: If Sync Music is not already checked, that means the iPod is currently set to Manually manage music. Setting up automatic syncing will replace the iPod existing content. If you want to add the new songs manually to the iPod (instead of using automatic syncing), please post back.
If your iTunes library fits on the iPod, you can choose the option to sync Entire music library. Otherwise, choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Below that, select (checkmark) what you want to sync to the iPod from the lists.
One convenient way to set this up is to first create one or more playlists in your iTunes library, with ALL of the songs you want on the iPod. Or you can use existing playlists. Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select those playlists under Playlists.
When you click Apply, iTunes syncs the songs in your selection(s) to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, to update the iPod, you can just update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs). If you have new songs, add them to a playlist that is synced to the iPod. The iPod does not need to be connected. The next time you connect the iPod (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes automatically updates your iPod with the same changes. -
