Hey, my ipad is disabled and i cant open. i tried connecting it with itunes in recovery mode to restore it but it wont work it doesnt show and options itunes doesnt detect my ipad in recovery mode. what do i do know? please help!!!

If you followed these instructions and you were unable to enter recovery mode, I'm still leaning toward a hardware problem.  Also, since you have IOS-7, read this.  It might help.

  • Please help!! ipad is disabled and will not do a hard reset to go into recovery mode.

i cannot do a force reset... When i hold in the home and sleep/wake button nothing happens, I have tried these same steps over and over again. Neither the apple or the itunes logo ever pop up.. The screen just stays black. I recently replaced the digitizer after my son cracked the screen. I have made sure that nothing was injured during repair. I did put the digitizer ribbon in wrong and then the screen was not working correctly. I had put the ribbon in backwards. So after the first wrong installation of the digitizer, i tried to unlock the screen with my passcode but it obviously wasn't working.. i would touch the number for the passcode but the screen would respond somewhere else..so i kept getting the passcode wrong and then BAM! Ipad disabled.. so i took a break from the frustration... When i returned to my ipad i took it back apart and thats when i realized that i had the digitizer ribbon in backwards, so i fixed it and replaced the screen once again.. But now the ipad is disabled, and for some reason it will not respond when i try to shut it down all the way, no red slider at all...so i bout a apple data transfer cable and i tried to connect it to itunes and hold the buttons like i read to do in the article, and my computer recognizes that my ipad is there,,, it tells me that i have to allow access and to respond on my ipad.. but sadly i cannot.. nothing appears on the ipad.. it stays a black screen and then when i lt go the "ipad is disabled" screen comes on.....
Then i read online that i could restore from icloud.com, so i go there, i sign in just fine but my ipad is not listed in the devices there either... it says " No Devices, You must be signed into iOS8 settings or Mac OS Yosemite system preferences to see devices."
And i dont believe the ipad is up to date, it had been unused for about 2 months, until last week when i attempted to fix it so im sure the operating system is old :-(
So im totally lost, I dont have a clue what to do to get my device recognized. I would really appreciate any help that anyone can give,, Thank you so much in advance!!!

  • My ipad was disabled, now working after i put in recovery mode. The computer i had the itunes in crashed , put in a new itunes now its telling me my computer is not authorized when my ipad is hooked up to transfer apps from itunes?

after i put my ipad in discover mode from being disabled, i cannot tranfer app from my itunes .i keeps saying computer not authorized. is there something i have to sign to on my ipad after discover mode?

    Hi naanek,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The following articles may be able to help you with this:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4627
Your Apple ID can have up to 10 devices and computers (combined) associated with it. Each computer must also be authorized using the same Apple ID. Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90 day timer. The timer must complete 90 days from the day the device was associated before it can be associated to another Apple ID.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

My son let one of his friends use his ipad. The next time he tired to use it he could not get it unlocked, I tired to unlock it but it kept telling me that I had the wrong pass code. With out me knowing my son continued to tire until it completely disabled it self.

You may have to do this several times.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

  • HT1414 my ipad is stuck in "ipad disabled" mode.  how do i fix this??

my ipad is stuck in "ipad disabled" mode.  how do i fix this??

If it's showing the disabled screen due to too many incorrect passcode attempts then you will need to connect it to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

  • Can I backup my ipad3 in recovery mode before restoring it?  the iPad is disabled

    Hi,
My toddler unsuccessfully tried many times to unlock our iPad3.  We now have the message "iPad is disabled...connect to iTunes".  From what I've read so far regarding accessing/unlocking the iPad, I will have to put the iPad into recovery mode and then restore it.  This procedure will erase everything on the iPad.  Is there a way to create a backup of the iPad while in recovery mode to save our data before restoring the device?  We haven't synced the iPad in a long time, so there are many important photos and videos that we don't want to lose.
    Please help.
    Thanks!
    Mike

Really?  uh oh.  Is there any method or software that can remove the content of my iPad before doing the restore?
I really don't want to lose the photos and videos on the iPad.
    Thanks

  • My iPad is in disabled mode

My ipad is in disabled mode. My kids attempted to type in my passcode too many times I'm thinking. What to do?
Underneath  "iPad is disabled," it says "connect to iTunes." Connecting to iTunes does nothing. iTunes may be completely irrelevant.

  • My Ipad went into disable mode after my grandchild entered the wrong passcode several times.  I have never synced this IPad, and I have so many photos on the Ipad that I do not want to lose.  I have the correct password, is there anyway to enable the IPad

My Ipad went into disable mode after my grandchild entered the wrong passcode several times.  I have the correct passcode, but I have never synced the IPad.  It says Connect to Itunes Diable Ipad.  I have many pictures I do not want to lose and I have never backed up.  Is there a way to open the Ipad without losing all of my pictures or data.

You should be able to recover any pictures you have taken on your iPad (in Camera Roll), but not application data etc, by connecting, via USB not wifi , to your computer.
If you are using a mac, connect your iPad, if iTunes automatically launches close it, run iPhoto and wait till your iPad is shown under Devices, you can then import all or selected photos.
If you are using Windows, again connect and close iTunes if it starts. Then browse the device using explorer, your photos will be shown on the device in My Computer held in a folders under DCIM (or something similar), you can copy and paste them into which ever folder you want on the PC.
The rest I'm afraid is gone unless you can remember the passcode, sorry.
    Hope all goes well.
    Cheers

  • How to enable back ipad if on disabled mode?

Anybody can help me on this , I forget my passcode. How to enable back my Ipad?

If you've never synced then you won't have a backup on your computer and you will therefore lose all your content from the iPad. You need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes - see this page for a locked iPad : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 . You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode first : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
