IPad in recovery mode after recent update

Is there any way to get my iPad to turn on after latest update caused the iPad to go into recovery mode?

RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

please i need your help i made update to my ipad to the last version then i find it in recovery mode and tried to restore it using i tunes but it the same in recovery mode please i need your help to solve this problem

If you followed these instructions and you were unable to enter recovery mode, I'm still leaning toward a hardware problem.  Also, since you have IOS-7, read this.  It might help.

I updated my iPad to 7.1.1 and after restart, the screnn signified connecting to iTunes.  When I did that,  it says it's in recovery mode and must be restored.  Why is it doing this and how can this be corrected?

  • Ipad 2 stopped working after recent update

I downloaded the latest IOS update yesterday and today my ipad 2 won't even turn on.
My ipad worked fine last night. I am wondering if my ipad is now toast?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I did what you suggested and after the apple icon, I get the iTunes icon with a plug in cord.
After plugging in, a box pops up in itunes indicating it has detected an ipad in recovery mode and it says it can not connect with itunes until restored. I have attempted to restore via itune but the next pop up box say "this device is not eligible for the requested build."
When I hit "more information" I am told to update my itunes to the latest which results in my having to download iOS 7.0.4 on my macbook pro.
Am I at a stand still because I won't download 7.0.4 on my macbook pro?

  • IPhone stuck in recovery mode after failed update.

Hi, I have a bad situation here... My iPhone 5 got stuck in recovery mode after I tried to update to iOS 7.1.1 from 7.0.4 and it failed (error code 6). If this was my iPod touch I would just restore it because all I have is music, but this iPhone has all my sisters graduation photos, important photos, important school documents, contacts, app data, videos from concerts. Etc. I was wondering if I could get the photos off the phone before restoring it, because they are important. I know I should've backed up my photos and made a backup of the phone, but I've been really busy with a lot of stuff. So I was just wondering if there is any way to get the photos and app data back. The app data doesn't really matter but the photos do. The device was not jailbroken or hacked in any way.
If you could help, tell me ASAP.

When your phone is in recovery mode, it's like it crashed.  The only way that you can get it out of recovery mode is by restoring, and this erases all your data as well.
You can believe what you wish by "reading all over the internet".  This is Apple's technical support forum.  We do know what we're talking about.
since you have very important photos on your phone, why haven't you been importing them to your computer as soon as possible after taking them?  This is how the phone is meant to be used.  Keeping critical data on only a device which can be easily stolen, dropped and broken is just plain foolish.  Also, did you not back up your phone (as you should be doing with any computer) before attempting any operating system update?  As you've now just painfully learned, updates do not always go as planned.
I'm sorry for your data loss, but let this be a very important lesson.  BTW, when was the last time you backed up your computer?  I'm sure you have important data on your computer.  Hard drives WILL fail.

  • Ipod stuck in recovery mode after software update

My ipod is suck in recovery mode after software upgrade ios 6. No matter what I did it's still stuck and itunes doesn't recognized it.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipad 2 stuck in recovery mode after io6 update

I have waited for months to update to io6 because I have been busy, and now that I have, I'm stuck in recovery mode giving me a (-1) error.  Some say that's a hardware error, but it can't be because it coincided with the update to ios6.  Here's what I've tried:
    Rebooting everything
    Tried to recover from mac.
    Tried to recover from windows.
Tried to recover using different router without wifi.
    Placed in DFU mode.
    Did hard reset.
Tried to hard reset with uplugging cord during download then reattaching.
    Tried tiny umbrella.
    Tried using different cord.
Have the latest version of Itunes.
Went into terminal and deleted file after # that some kid on you tube said to do.
I'm at my end of searching.  Any suggestions????  I know it can't be hardware because it did this immediatly following the ios 6 update.  Thanks,

When you do an iOS update certain parts of the hardware are used that aren't normally used. If these fail then you can get an error (-1). The error occurs not because of the content of iOS 6 but the update process itself.
If you can't get out of recovery mode with all that you have tried then your iPad likely has a hardware problem and needs replacement. Hopefully you are still under warranty.

  • Why is my ipad stuck in recovery mode after IOS update?  I can't get it out even after I restore.  Please help!

I did an IOS update and now my iPad is stuck in recovery mode and I can't get it out.  I have tried to restore through iTunes, but after restore it says it is still in recovery mode.  Please help!

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

  • IPAD ON RECOVERY MODE AFTER UPDATING TO IOS 7.1.1

hey guys...while i was updating my ipad to the newest version of ios it suddenly stopped and went to recovery mode....i connected to itunes and tried to recover it...but due to my slow internet connection it was unsucessfull...i just want to know wheater erasing the contents on my ipad from FIND MY IPAD works or not....please help me

If your iPad is stuck in recovery mode, DO THIS: (ON Screen USB pointing to a CD with a Music Note).
    1. Make sure your iTunes is up to data, if not re-download itunes.
    2. after re-installing ITUNES, plug your ipad via USB into your computer. ITUNES will automatically pick it up and a pop up box will probally say that your iPad stuck in recovery mode would you like to restore?
    3. Click the restore tab.
Note - If ITUNES if out of date, this will not work.
Note - Do not do this over WIFI
Note - Do not interrupt the restore
Note - If you did not make a previous back up, your IPAD will restore back to the factroy settings.
All this happened to me, fortunately I made a back up. I hope this helps.

  • My iPad entered Recovery Mode after updating to iOS 7.0.2

Today I received the push notification of the iOS update (7.0.2), after installing and rebooting the itunes icon came up. So I connect my iPad to my itunes and it says I have to recover back to factory settings!

maybe all of you ppl didnt see my first post. so ill post it again and i dont care if its considered "smug". the only sure way to fix a device in recovery mode (itunes logo on device) is for u to restore it using the latest version of itunes on ur pc. if u tried to update and it put it into recovery mode the leading cause of this is that something went wrong with YOUR internet connection, computer, or connection to device during process. all of these are not apple's fault. im sure if they werent busy fixing real bugs in there system they would apologize for the giant update that you just tried to install on your incredibly complicated device failed because something on your end couldnt handle it.
disable ur overbearing antivirus software temporarily
redownload itunes, dont uninstall, just redownload
restore your device and try not to use a crappy internet connection or a crappy over used or third party cord
this WILL erase your device. if u lose a lot of info because of this, maybe next time use one of apple's 2 different ways to back up your content on a regular basis as suggested by pretty much every apple thing out there. its there for a reason. not to just look pretty and confuse u.

  • IPhone 4 in recovery mode after failed update with most recent software (3/25/13), I only have the past 30 days worth of photos and my contacts in iCloud, how do I get the rest of my pictures off of my phone? I have read the apple article already.

Basically headline says it all, my phone is in recovery mode following a failed update through the phone and I want all my photos back.  I have already read the "iOS: Unable to Update or Restore" and it indicates that when restoring through iTunes, you lose all data on the phone. I have checked my iCloud (I am a Windows7 user so uploading does not happen automatically, as I unfortunately just figured out) and it only will upload my past 30 days of photos and contacts, inline with what I've read about the cloud only storing 30 days of your past data. I really would like to get all of my photos off of my phone, I had photostream activated and most were in that stream. Is there anything I can do? I don't know what operating system is on there currently, but I have always updated my phone succesfully until today when this happened, so I'm assuming whatever is most up to date until today is the OS it has. Thank you!

  • IPad 3 goes into recovery mode after every update

I purchased an iPad 3 in September 2012. When I installed iOS7, the iPad went into recovery mode and had to be restored to factory settings. Yesterday, I tried installing iOS 7.0.3 and it did the same thing, and I had to restore it from a backup (which I was smart enough to make before installing this update). Before installing iOS 7.0.3, I was having problems with the iPad randomly going to the black apple screen for a few seconds and then returning to normal. Any idea what is going on? Do I have a v

I had this problem with my wife's iPad when I updated to 7.0.3 via OTA. It was easily fixed for me, and I assume it should work for everyone else.
It appears that sometimes during installation of the OTA update to 7.0.3, it gets stuck in recovery half way through.
You can connect it to iTunes and restore it, which will wipe it, OR you can download TinyUmbrella and kick it out of recovery. Once you do that, the installer should complete normally (it did for me).
    1) Download and install TinyUmbrella for your PC/Mac.
    2) Make sure iTunes isn't running and connect your device via USB.
    3) Open up TinyUmbrella. Your device should show up on the left. Click on it and then choose "exit recovery".
    4) Profit.

  • IPad 2 says it's in 'recovery mode' after latest update??

iTunes wants to restore my iPad to factory settings after trying to do an update, I don't want to lose everything on it, please help?

If you do enough research, you will find that it has happened with every iOS update going back as far as iOS 5 and probably even earlier. I cannot explain why it happens. And this type of thing does not just happen with with iOS devices and iOS updates. Any software downloaded from the internet can go bad and cause problems. I'm not that well versed enough to explain the technicalities of it, but I know that it happens. An interruption in the download, anti virus software, etc., can cause problems when you download and install software.
The only thing that I can tell you for sure, is that you have to restore the device now. There is no hope to getting working otherwise. FWIW, I NEVER update without backing up first, and I don't go more than two or three days without backing up period. I also archive backups in iTunes so I have a dozen or so backups at my disposal at any given time.
