IPad iOS 7 UI: Thin & Elegant but not as readable!

I see where Jony Ives is coming from. He wanted to create a user experience on the iPad that is thin and elegant.
As a result, all the icons are thin and elegant, which is fine and all BUT... It's not as readable compared to iOS 5.
I just switched over my iPad to iOS 7, but my iPhone is still on iOS 5.
Now, if I hold my iPhone or iPad about three feet away, the icons and lettering in (for example) the Mail program are clear and distinct on my iPhone:
The inBox is clearly a different color and shape.
The folders are clearly different shape (at an angle) from the draft icon.
The trash can is clearly cylinderical with a mesh texture
The labeled text is strong (not so thin and elegant.)
Not so much the iPad:
Nearly everthing is about the same shape (a rectangle) except for the Paper Airplane Sent icon and Curled Reply Arrow.
All the icons are outline in a light blue against white.
The space inside the outlines is the same as the background.
The labeled text is thin and elegant, but not as readable.
Professor Tufte would probably have something to say about the loss of detail.
An apt analogy, is the new UI is like a blue print: It takes a lot extra effort to figure out what's going on because a light blue line could mean anything.
The old UI is like a picture of a house: The details are clear and the different components are easily distinguishable.
I'm truly sorry, but this new thin and elegant look is not as readable. I notice that tasks take a little bit longer, because my eyes and my mind have to work harder to disambiguate the the icons and text. I notice a bit of doubt creep in as I use the new UI..
I have taken to making my folder labels ALL UPPER CASE to make them easier to distinguish.
It's also sad, given all the effort Apple has made to improve accessibility of the iPad in iOS 7, I can't change the boldness and size of the system fonts.
I hope Apple is listening on this one. I'd like an option to make my iPad experience more readable than elegant, more thick than thin.

make sure it's not being connected to by any of the other two
one can only connect 1 device at the time and just by waking up sometimes a headset connects to a device

There is no download for iTunes on the iPad.
iTunes on the iPad is a link for the store only, it is built into ios.

IPhone and iPad iOS 5.1: Gmail IMAP attachments not downloading

I'm having an issue with Gmail (IMAP) not downloading attachments from myself! (I use Gmail to archive documents, etc). Same issue on my iPhone 4 and iPad 3, both iOS 5.1, using the default mail app with default "Gmail" account (IMAP) set up.
They *were* both working fine, then I erased both devices for a clean install. Set up the email accounts again, now none of my own attachments download on either device.
When I say not downloading, I see the attachment download box (dashed box with download arrow inside), and on pressing it, the attachment downloads (0 to XX kb), but then the download box just flashes back to showing the file size, and the attachments do not show. I keep pressing the download box but it flashes and nothing happens. Same with .jpg .png .doc .xls .pdf, etc.
BEFORE THE FORMAT:
All attachments downloaded correctly (as far as I can remember) before I had erased both devices.
NOW:
Attachments sent *from* me ([email protected]), via Gmail website, to me or anyone else, BEFORE formatting my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, do NOT download. However, if I then forward the email, including attachments, the attachments appear in the outgoing message preview! (so they're not corrupt)
Attachments sent *from* me ([email protected]), via Gmail website, to me or anyone else, AFTER formatting my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, DO download and correctly appear in the email.
Attachments sent *from* me ([email protected]), via iPhone/iPad, to me or anyone else, any time BEFORE or AFTER formatting my iPad 3 and iPhone 4, appear correctly.
Attachments sent from anyone else, *to* me ([email protected]), always appear correctly.
On a friend's iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1), adding my gmail account using the default "Gmail" setting (IMAP) works fine - all attachments download and show!
On a friend's iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1), adding my gmail account using the default "Gmail" setting (IMAP) replicates my problem - all attachments from me (sent before the format) do not download. (So it's not specific to my own devices!)
Gmail Exchange server (m.google.com) works fine: all attachements download and show correctly. Also no problem using Thunderbird IMAP or the Gmail web interface.
So it looks like it might be a problem with iOS 5.1, however it all seemed to be working fine before I did the erase/format... and new emails sent from me always appear correctly... actually that might explain why it was working before (as I was always downloading new emails, and not looking at archives).
So the only other thing that might have changed is some IMAP server setting? Could the headers or mail flags have changed somehow for older emails??
Any thoughts? :-/

I reproduced this problem over the weekend, on friends' iPhones (all running iOS 5.1). Opening their Gmail sent folder and trying to view an attachment sent from a while back (basically one that hasn't already been cached by the Mail app) failed to display. Exactly the same problem - download arrow flashes and attachement won't show / can't be opened.
I'm in the UK, but not sure if that affects anything.
Thinking this might be a bug in the Mail app in iOS 5.1, as earlier versions work fine.

Does that mean that as its just another way of accessing my photos then it does not increase double up on memory ? In my photo library after repeated sycs on my IP 4 there appear to be 3 identical pictures in a row sometime just 2, why would this be if its just another way of accessing my pics, this confuses me.

Why has my ipad mini stoppedaccessing mail and internet but not skype?

2 days ago my ipad mini 2 suddenly decided to stop being able to access email or use safari to browse the internet when connected to the cellular network - but NOT when connected to wifi. It also only connects to words with friends via wifi as well as other games.
Oddly enough I am still able to use skype.
Please help! I have injured my foot and would like to avoid having to track down an Apple store if possible.
So far I have tried:
rebooting the normal way,
resetting the ipad,
resetting the network settings,
resetting all settings on the ipad,
removing the sim card and reinserting it,
deleting the email account and adding it again -
all to no avail. Still desperately looking for an answer!

Safari and iTunes are built-in apps, they can't be deleted or downloaded. If they aren't showing then are they hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > Safari and iTunes being set 'off' ?
If there is a Restrctions code on the iPad bu you didn't set it (e.g. it was set by the previous owner) the the only way to remove the code is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad. You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808

IPad 2 connects via iphone hotspot, but not router

I have a iPad 2 that refuses to see or connect to my "G" wi-fi network. Both my iphones and iPad mini connect to the same wi-fi network without any issues. But, the iPad 2 will connect to to my iPhone 5 via AT&T personal hotspot (wi-fi... is this really wi-fi?) and my mac via Bluetooth. I have reset the ipad 2 to factory settings, reset network settings and nothing is working to connect to a standard wi-fi network. Does this sound like the wi-fi antenna is not working?

If you are not seeing your WiFi network from your iPad 2 in order to join, you may want to try the additional steps outlined in the following article:

Calendar notifications on iPad iOS 8.2 shows yesterday and not today

Since I updated my iPad to iOS 8.2 my calendar notifications in the notification centre are showing the wrong day. The calendar summaries for 'Today' and 'Tomorrow' are correct, but the actual calendar details shows me events from yesterday and not today.
i have tried removing the calendar from notifications, and then adding it back. I have also tried a simple reboot of the iPad. Anyone know why it is doing this? What else can I try to fix this?

WWhen the iPhone is connected via usb to computer. Look at tones on the device. Does the tone look different from all others, does it have a transparent circle next to the ringtone name?

Mac IOS Flash Player updated installed but not detected

I have repeatedly installed the new version of FlashPlayer when prompted over the past few days. My computere shows the installation as successful, but it's not working. I've visited the Adobe Troubleshooting page, and it does not detect the installation, although my finder show the program as installed. My computer is compatible with the new version, although I'm running an older IOS - Snow Leopoard ( 10.6.8) I've reinstalled several times following all directions - uninstalled old version, unblocked pop-ups, disabled fierwall.
VERY frustrating!

Snow Leopard is not iOS... iOS is an iPhone, an iPad or an iPod Touch. And there has never been a Flash Player for iOS, because Apple made iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch incompatible with Flash Player right from the start.
