IPad iOS6 Update Problem

I am trying to Update new Ipad with iOS6, while updating my internet went down for 2 mins and the iPad is in update mode from last 2 hours. How do I restore or restart the operation ? I am unable to see the progress.. the progress bar is at approx 90% completion from last 2 hours.

Force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times.

  • IPad ios6 update Chinese keyboard option missing dynamic selection in zhuyin

After update my iPad to ios6, the zhyin has different keyboard layout. I was told to switch the option to dynamic so I can switch back to the old way.  But I don't see such selection when I am in general -> keyboard -> Chinese traditional zhuyin-> zhuyin (only selection I have)
    Help?

You may want to search/ask in the Chinese Mac group, I doubt there is any fix other than asking Apple to change it.

  • IPad Air update problem!!!

Hi. I have new iPad Air 16Gb. I pressed check for Updates. While updating, now I see Black screen with Apple logo and white line with 0% indicating. One hour no change!!! What should I do?

First, be sure your iPad is plugged into the charger that came with it. Then you can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Iphone/Ipad/ipod update problems

Ever since I bought my first Ipod about 6 years ago I have had trouble updating also with my Ipad and two 3gs phones . Whenever I try to update them they always get stuck in recovery mode and an error 1604 comes up which means that their is something that apple doesnt like about my usb connection so I then spend the next few nights trouble shooting and retrying until all of a sudden it works.
All my other phones Ive had all updated perfectly through the same usbs, Samsung,Motorola.
So today I got an Iphone 5 (the wifes choice not mine) and got home and plugged it in to sync contacts etc and got the "update for your device available" notification. Foolishly I clicked on update and have now spent the last 5 or so hours with a phone in recovery mode trying all the usual things I do to get it to work including updating to latest I tunes which seems to freeze up almost as much as the phone, but thats another issue.
Ive tried different usb ports and the one thing that worked on my other devices which was to wait until the restore had begun and then kill Itunes with the task manager then restart Itunes then sometimes the update would complete.
I also had error message 2002 at one stage.
So I went to my neighbours house across the road and after 2 hours of restoring I got "error message 1" which I havent seen before .
So how do I fix this problem? Do I have to go to an apple store every time i want to update? Do I buy a new computer and hope that the usb configuration is one that apple products might work with or do I take the phone back and get a Droid???
    Thanks for your help.
Ps. Sorry about the long-winded question/rant.

So I just gave it one last try. This time I waited for the restore to begin, then I killed itunes with the task manager and unplugged the phone at the phone  not the usb end. Then I plugged the  phone back in then restarted itunes and did the restore and hey presto it worked.
Still alot of ballsing around for something that should be easy.
Just gave myself 10 points , now I feel all warm and fuzzy.

Hi  Lola, I feel for you as it has happened to me as well. I was building a Sentinel character, she was just the best. But i too made the mistake of updating the OS to 8.3.
It serves me right for breaking my golden rule "if it aint broke, don't fix it!" Lets hope there is an update coming out that addresses the problem. Till then i will start exploring DH5.

  • IPAD V1 Update Problem

I currently have a first addition iPad with version 3.2.2 software. I have been desperately trying to update the software version, but every time I attempt to download the software (which iTunes prompts me about), I get about 350mb into the 700(ish)mb download and it tells me that there is an unknown error or a connection failure.
Please could anybody tell me how to fix this please!!!!!!!
    M

If it's a network timeout error then try temporarily turning off all your firewall and antivirus software until the download has completed.

  • IPad iOS update problem

When I try to update my iPad iOS to v4.2 I get a message saying,
"iTunes could not back up the iPad because the backup could not be saved on the computer"

What has worked for some others has been to delete the existing backup file. You can delete it from iTunes>Preferences>Device Tab. However, as insurance, I would make a copy of the file before deleting it. You can find the location of the backup file here:

  • Latest ipad os update problem

I cannot see play videos from my ipad to the TV through apple TV after downloading the latest ipad os. Any ideas?

Bring up Control Center by swiping upward starting at the very bottom of the home screen, just above the home button.  Do this while looking at the home screen.
Does the icon (AirPlay icon) appear there?  It should.

  • IMessage problems after iOS6 update

    Hi All,
Is anyone getting similar problems to this after iOS6 updates?
My iPad is used on 2 wifi networks, my home network and work wifi, I pick the pad up on a morning, shove it in my bag, go to work and pick up the wifi there, carry on as normal, repeat in reverse when heading in the opposite direction.
On iOS5, my iMessages would simply carry on the conversation when rejoining either network *there is no 3g connection on this ipad*
Since updating, I leave for home, get to work and iMessage refuses to resume, messages stick at about 90% sent, then fail, I head home , rejoin the home network and boom, it just picks up where it left off
When at work, occasionally it might start working after 10 minutes or so, but today i've been sat about 5 hours so far, no dice
I have tried just about every combination of restarts, resets, updates I can think of, including, changing the DNS on my device to the same one I use at home *8.8.8.8* , shutting iMessage down, renewing the DHCP lease, Hard resets, soft resets ,  forget wifi network, restore network setting  you name itI've tried it
Under iOS5 I had used the device for months without doing so much as a power down and not had one single 'not delivered' failure on an iMessage, since iOS6 I've probably had abotut 50% service from this.
As far as I know, nothing has changed on either wifi networks, everything else works fine on the works network, browings, itunes, app store, skype etc etc.
I'm at a loss as to what to do next, and yes, I've also done a full device restore as well for good measure, with a iCloud back up, again, it restored, went to messages and it just sat there doing nothing until I got home , where the messages just sent first go.
Massively frustrated in what I can only see as something that's been introduced as a result of this iOS6 upgrade.

I may have found my own answer... it seems that anything less than 3 bars of wifi signal after rejoining a network and the message wont send, I switched my device off, moved closer to the wifi router, tricky as it's in another building, rebooted, managed to get two bars of wifi, still wouldn't send, moved even closer to the router manged to just get 3 bars and pow, the message sent right away!
Moved away back to my normal desk at work, signal dropped to 2/1 bars of wifi, however now, messages continue to send now.
Clearly when I'm at home I'm only ever a few feet away from my wifi router and always have solid 3 bars of signal, not the case at work.
However, this still only appears to be something that's been introduced at the iOS6 update as this was never an issues prior to this, but has been an issue right from day one after updating!

  • Problems with Airplay since last IOS6 update?

Since the last IOS6 update my IPAD2 and IPOD 3rd gen have both lost the airplay icon. They were both working well with my Apple TV prior to update. My IPAD had to be restored following update also. Is anyone else experiencing the same kind of problems?

  • Is there any reported issue about wifi connectivity on ipad since IOS6 update

Since updated to ios6 i have had intermittent problems regarding ipad wifi conectivity. It has had not problem at all in safary (wich is blazing). My problems are with email (problems sending mails) and app store (almost impossible to connect in some cases).
    Thanks in advance

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Has anyone encountered drastic shorter battery life both on iphone 5 and ipad since updating to iOS 6.1.2? How can this problem be solved?

    Dear all,
I am new to this community even though I have been a Apple user for years, so please forgive me if this question is not in the right section.
Has anyone encountered drastic shorter battery life both on iphone 5 and ipad since updating to iOS 6.1.2? I've always been happy with these two products until the update - now the battery life is considerably shorter which is extremely frustrating.
How can this problem be solved? Is there any way to go back to the previous version?
    Thanks for your help.

If you update using iTunes the phone is first wiped clean, then the new OS is installed, and finally the backup is restored. After this finishes if you sync your music should be restored. Music is not in the backup, because it is already on your computer and duplicating it would use up a lot of hard disk space.
An OTA update just patches what has changed; it does not disturb content.

  • What is the size of ios6 update on iPad

I started updating my iPad(3rd Generation), for about 1 hour it was displaying the message"estimating time remaining"...So I decided to update my iPad via itunes..The difference I noticed in size was that on iPad it showed 791 MB and via itunes it showed 1.1GB.So I just paused my iOS6  update to iPad .Now What should I do? Should I update iPad to iOS6 directly or should I update it via itunes....

I did mine via my computer's iTunes. Usually the direct updates on the iPad only download the parts of iOS that need updating, whereas downloading it via your computer it downloads the complete iOS version
