IPad IOS6 upgrade failed, iPad is now frozen

My iPad is 3rd generation, and I run iTunes (latest version) on a Windows 7 laptop.
Initially I chose to 'download only' in iTunes. Subsequently I started the upgrade process with the iPad connected to iTunes.
I got an error message saying the upgrade failed.
Now my iPad is showing the symbol to connect with USB cable to iTunes, but the iPad is not appearing in iTunes.
I've gone through the trouble shooting guide (checking versions, restarting computer etc.).
If I try to restart my iPad (pressing on/off and homebutton simultanously for 10 secs) it simply turns off the screen, and when I turn it on it displays the same again.

Force iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times.

  • HT1657 Downloaded 5 movies on old IPad.  Upgraded to IPad 4 , but movies did not migrate.

Upgraded from IPad 1 to IPad 4.  Had multiple merge problems which were fixed except for videos.  Had five videos in old IPad which didn't merge.  Had to purchase them again. (Billing problem).  Only three of the videos migrated to the Ipad4, and I get an error message(movie cannot load) when I try to watch them.
    PLEASE HELP!

    Welcome to the Apple Community..
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option which is revealed in the iTunes app on your iOS device by tapping the more button at the bottom of the screen.

  • 3110c Firmware upgrade failed. Phone now flashes s...

I was in the process of upgading the firmware to the latest version, using Nokia Software Updater v 1.6.13en via USB cable with the phone on mains charger.
Part way through the process it reported connection lost and to either retry or cancel the software upgrade. After unsuccessfully trying to retry with the same result several times, I chose cancel.
The phone will not boot properly now and when powered up, flashes the screen a few times before powering off again.
    Is it totally dead?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.
    Simon

seems as if your phone may have been corrupted due to the failed software update. the only option you have is to take your phone to your local Nokia Care Centre for them to take a look at.

  • IPod Update Failed - Touch is now frozen - Help!

I opened a brand new 8GB iPod Touch today and it seemed to work fine. Then it seemed like apps that I bought and downloaded were not working correctly. Every time I clicked on an app it would go right back to the home screen. So I decided to update the iPod software. iTunes downloaded the update fine and then it went through the installation process on the iPod. At the end it said that the iPod just had to restart and it would be finished. However it never restarted. Now whenever I try to turn it on all I see on the screen of the iPod is an image of the little white USB connector and an arrow pointing to the iTunes logo (CD with a blue note). I have tried holding down the power button and completely turning it off and back on again but that doesn't help. My computer doesn't recognize the iPod so I can't do anything in iTunes. Help! What can I do? How can I get the iPod to finish the update of the iPod software?
    Corey

Well, I was able to get the iPod working again by rebooting the PC and then connecting. I don't know why - but that fixed it. The computer could see the iPod again and it finished the update. However I still have the problem where the iPod can not run any of the apps that I downloaded and installed today. When I click on them it opens the app for like 1 second and then immediately goes back to the home screen. I notice a ton of other people here with the same problem. Help Apple!

  • BIOS upgrade failed screen blank now

Problem started when :- Think Vintage pop up to update BIOS and I said

Please help me it is very urgent
I brought laptop T61 -7658-cto  from USA and now I am
in UK and the notebook is not booting. I try to contact your technical
    contacts but no reply.
Is there a way to fix this problem without sending it to US
    Thanks in advance
    Dijo

that would probably require a motherboard replacement, not sure whether depot can reflash your bios. Since your machine is a CTO then you would have to send it back to USA for service. Call Lenovo service in USA log a service call, then courier the machine back to the depot, after fixing it they will courier it back to you i think.

  • Ios5 to ios6 upgrade fail, stuck in recovery mode

I have an iphone 4 on ios 5.1.X, I attempted to update to ios 6.0.
While updating I recieved an error about 5-10 minutes into the update. In my haste, I clicked past the error and didn't see the code. Now my iphone is stuck in recovery mode.
    I've tried:
I tested the USB port with my other iphone 5, which still works with itunes.
    I reinstalled itunes.
    Restarted apple mobile device service
    Restarted my computer
    Entered DFU mode
Despite all these, I cannot get the phone to be recognized in itunes. I do have an old backup. I just want to get my phone usable again. Any ideas? Can AT&T restore my phone to factory state?

  • I have an iPad Mini which after being on charge has now frozen with the iCloud Backup box in the middle of the screen which in spite of pushing OK many times will not go away or unlock the screen or iPad

I have an iPad Mini which after charging has now frozen with the iCloud Backup text box in the middle of the screen and OK 'button' registers when tapped but remain locked with nothing operating. It is fully charged.

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • I upgrades my iPAD  3 to iOS6 and now I can't open my Safari RSS bookmarks.  Any ideas to help?

I upgrades my iPAD  3 to iOS6 and now I can't open my Safari RSS bookmarks.  Any ideas to help?

I've installed 3 different RSS readers and none of them "grab" the default flag for RSS feeds.
I've also uninstalled the Podcasts.app, then re-installed a couple of the readers and Safari still has no idea what to do with them.
What's most annoying is that Safari declares it doesn't know what to do with a feed and offers to load the iTunes Store so I can pick an RSS Reader to install, and then the iTunes app declares it can't connect to the store (even when I'm already on the store or downloading an application at the time).
And yeah, I've tried the fixes for the cannot connect errors (Date/Time flip, reinstall bought app, setting DNS to Google even though it was already fine, and clearing Safari's cache just in case).
    This is absolutely pathetic.

  • HT1695 i recently upgraded to ios6 on my ipad and now i cant connect to my wifi. all my other devices work. i have tried resetting network settings. please can you help this is now getting riduculous. i am currently in tanzania and i have no access to any

how can i relsolve my wifi issue with ios6 with my ipad. its been three days without internet. my ipad is having trouble detecting a wifi signal it finds my home network and then disaapears within seconds

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

iOS6 and iphoto, iPad, Apple TV sync problem still unresolved. Turning on and off a few times per community advice have not helped. What should I do now? wait for an upgrade fix?
"&" is not the obvious bug/answer. Not sure what went wrong as I cannot select albums and events for sync. Situation is worse for iPad and Apple TV when error 1140 message popped up even before backup get completed.

Download and install the iPhoto 9.4.1 update, which was just released today. It may be the answer to your problems:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1598
Be sure that neither iTunes nor iPhoto is running when you install the iPhoto 9.4.1 update. After installing the update, then restart iTunes and iPhoto. By default, "All photos" is selected. Change this (it's no longer grayed out) to "Selected albums..." and you should be OK.
