IPad, iPhone, and Mac book won't connect to wifi

My ipad (6.1.3), my Mac book (10.6.8), and my iPhone 4(6.1.3) won't connect to home wifi even though all of them did on Sunday night (2 days ago). I have tried forgetting network and reconnecting but didn't work. I have tried to reset network settings on my devices but didn't work. The only thing that works so far is rebooting the router but that's feasible or fair to the other people (who are not apple users) in the house. Everyone else's laptops, tablets, phones, and play station can connect and stay connected. All of my devices can see the network but connection times out. Please help!

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! I can definitely understand the frustration, and there are some troubleshooting steps that don't necessarily necessitate rebooting the router.     OK, restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more is corrupt. To restart in Safe Mode when you hear the start up tone hold down the Shift Key until you see a progress bar. Let it fully boot then restart normally and test.
    Also I am assuming you have checked Finder - Preferences  - General and see what boxes are checked in "Show these items on desktop." You can also mount an item in Disk Utility, simply highlight it and then look in the File menu for Mount.....

    Thanks. We have been using an existing Time Machine for wifi.  Cable modem replaced DSL router and was hooked up to Time Machine. What's odd is that 3 computers and iPad2 are connecting to home wifi just fine, using exact same network and password as before. My Mac book pro and an older iPad are not. IPhones are also connecting to home wifi just fine. I managed to get my Mac book pro hooked one time by copying ip address from a Mac that was working (entered manually) then turning that one off. That's not what I need.
    The error message is "no ip address".

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • I just updated my iphone 4s with iOS 6 and now it won't connect to wifi!

    I did the update and now it will not connect to wifi.  I have tried reseting, forgetting the network then reconnecting etc...almost everything and it still will not work!!!

    You could unplug your router than plug it back in.  You could turn the iPhone completely off and then back on.

    My Mac Pro won't connect to the Wifi that it has been for the past 2+ years. All other devices in our home that use the same Wifi are working just fine.

    Some of the following you may have already tried:
    Try the basics first:

  • IPad 3 with iOS 6 won't connect to Wifi Hotspot

    I have a new iPad running iOS 6.01.  It connects to wifi networks perfectly.  I also own a Blackberry 9900 that is capable of running a wifi hotspot.  The iOS6 iPad will not connect to my hotspot.
    It is NOT the hotspot that is the problem. PCs connect to it as does my Android tablet.  In fact I tried an iPad 2 with iOS v5.x and it connected instantly as well.
    This is an iOS 6 problem I am positive.  Any ideas anyone?  Reseting network connections does not work.

    I tried the method above several times however I had to refine it using the following method:
    Once I received the message on the iPad settings window "unable to connect to network" I unticked the hotspot  option on the blackberry. The mobile network and Wi-Fi boxes on your blackberry should both remain ticked, retick the hotspot box on your blackberry and only when the word "connecting" appears next to the box select the join button on the network settings on your iPad or choose your hotspot in the network list.
    You should now be able to switch between your Wi-Fi networks and your hotspot, if this does not automatically happen then Repeat of the above process waiting for the word "connecting" before joining the hotspot network.
    Now you're not forced to buy an iPhone!!!

    Pages and Numbers on a Mac are Mac Apps and are downloaded from the Mac App Store. iOS devices use a completely different operating system and the version of Pages and Numbers for that are quite different programming - you can't move Mac applications to an iOS device. The programs will have to be download from the App Store on your devices, and you have to buy them separately from the Mac versions.

    My mac book 7,1 won't connect to any networks (wireless connection) . It says "ALERT NO INTERNET CONNECTION" . The configuration IPv4 is on: Using DHCP. So, I don't understand why it's telling me this, and how i can fix it.

    What do the Apple OS X network diagnostics report:

    about your network connection?
    Do the networking problems here also effect connections via a wired network?
    Have you tried a different wireless network?   Does connecting at a library, café or Apple store work?
    I'm going to assume that you're not running OS X Server 10.6 on this MacBook — that would be unusual — and that you're probably running the client version of OS X 10.6, and are here in this forum because you saw the 10.6 in the forum title.  If I'm wrong here, there can potentially be other triggers for the network outage.  OS X Server management is rather different from whe OS X that Apple installs on a MacBook.

    When i bought my girlfriend an iPhone i let her use my apple id. I got some of the problems with letting her do that instead of creating her own worked out but one that i do not know how to fix is my mac book and my iPhone thinks i am her. When i ask siri who i am it responds with her name on my phone. When i try facetiming her on my iPhone it calls my mac book. I try to edit the account but the one option that i don't see is the option to change who the iCloud recognizes as "me." If i create a new apple id i will lose a lot of stuff that i have saved. Does anybody know a solution to this without losing everything i have?

    Well, yeah.  You want to create separate accounts for each of you, using individual Apple IDs.  I know mothers and daughters like to share clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. but don't share Apple IDs.

    First check that all your settings are correct, that notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
    Make sure the notes you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone'  or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device, or the left side panel in mail on a computer), non iCloud notes will not sync.
    If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your notes are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking notes syncing (mail and notes on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling notes syncing.
