IPad / iPhone / Outlook 2003 email problems

Hi,
I have an issue with btinternet emails being available on all 3 devices.
Having changed the iphone and ipademail accounts to yahoo accounts the "account in use on another device" issue has now been resolved. However the issue i am now facing is that once outlook downloads all emails those emails then disappear from the iphone and ipad leaving the inboxes empty.
I have read through a number of suggestions and it seems that Outlook 2003 needs to be set up as an Imap account for incoming mail to synchronize with btinternet and ensure the same emails remain on the iphone / ipad.
Does anyone have any details or can the MODs help me with setting up my outlook 2003 account to imap in order to resolve this problem?

My android phone has an option to remove messages from the phone when they are deleted from the server. If the iphone has similar maybe you just need to uncheck it.

Hi Everyone,
Yes, I am able to sync my phone with my contacts and calendar. However, I cannot sync emails. I tried to figure out what i can do but i still can't.
Has anyone ever heard of a program called eduo? i tried that but it didn't work because even with OWA (outlook web access) it required a RSA secure ID.
First i do not have any access to my exchange server to enable IMAP. Also, the exchange server is in cached mode.
Any ideas on what i can do??

Loaded Office 2007 and work perfectly now, look like there is a problem with Office 2003, Vista and Itunes ver 8. My suggestion is load Office 2007 and no more problems.

Firefox will not allow use of my Outlook 2003 email even when default it tries to use Windows Live.

Using Firefox 3.6.12 on Win7, Outlook 2003 email. Firefox will not use my Outlook email even when set as the default, or when "always asked" is used. Always tries to open Windows Live when "sending link", or with website hyperlinks for email.

This has all been done and the problem persists.
It tries to open Outlook first, then the message "Navigation to this webpage was cancelled" and it proceeds to open Windows Live mail.
I don't know if the problem is with Outlook or Firefox..

Blackberry Bold 9650 vs Outlook 2003 - email groups

When I copy / sync my contacts from my blackberry, using the desktop manager, to my outlook 2003, my email groups within my contacts don't copy over. HELP!!

Setting him up on the new device had the same result. I then wiped his device again, deleted him as a BES user and set him up from scratch. All with the same result.
Has anyone seen this before?

Problems attaching PDF's to Outlook 2003 emails

Hi,
An issue is starting to develop in our offices where .pdf files don't attach to an email from the Windows XP explorer context menu when Outlook is open. The attachments attach nicely to a new message if outlook is not running at the time. Even with Outlook running they can attach .pdf's if the user copies the file from explorer and pastes it in the new email. Nothing of the above applies to any filetype other than .pdf's.

All our computers have recently had Avecto Privilege Guard Client pushed out to them via group policy.

Ok, I think I just answered my own question. I uninstalled the Avecto Privilege Guard Client and everything was again working just fine. I can only presume that the Avecto Client is blocking pdfshell.dll from making calls to Outlook.

No, the pdfs are market sheets, specification sheets, etc. I open them in the google drive, send to/open in adobe and email. Typically they attach just fine, but the new files that my company added to the shared google drive won't attach to an email as an attachment. The entire pdf shows up on the email. If I send the email a little red box shows up in the body of the email. Does this make sense? I appreciate the assistance.

Outlook 2003 Mail problem

I have a few questions/problems.
1. Anytime my iphone is in the unlocked position and my outlook on my computer checks for new mail I receive an error message "Mailbox is locked...Another Mail Client is using this mailbox". Is there anyway to "allow access" or something so both can check for mail at the same time?
2. I am receiving some emails just on in my outlook, some just on my iphone, and some on both? Once an email is sent, shouldn't it go to both the phone and the outlook if I havent opened it in either?

Is this a POP account?
1. Do you have email being checked on your computer at the same time as on your iPhone? Only one device can be accessing the POP account at one time, so if one is accessing, the other is essentially locked out.
2. Do you have your account set to delete emails from the server once they are fetched? In that case, once one email client (ie your computer) pulls the mail off the server, it will no longer be available for the other client (ie your iPhone) to fetch.
If you can set your account up as an IMAP account instead of POP, everything done on one device will be mirrored exactly on the other.
I'm sure someone else will be able to add a more detailed technical explanation, but I think that's probably what's happening.

OUTLOOK 2003 Question/Problem

I have been using my Iphone for approx. 2 weeks and to date it has performed as advertised... now all of a sudden; it appears I miss 4-8 outlook e-mails per day! Even stranger.... When I send a test email from my personal and corporate email... it comes through. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on or suggestions on potential fixes?

Hi there. TESCO.NET host. I spoke with them at length but - you guessed - they said it was a Microsoft update problem.........................
And let me also guess - they didn't happen to mention "which" Microsoft update caused the problem so have to wonder how they came to that conclusion.
Anyhow - note the bold part in the error you've encountered - which is an error being returned by your ISP's SMTP server and has absolutely nothing to do with Outlook

To many messages sent.
Virtually every ISP these days is enforcing some kind of limit for messages sent which could be impacting the issue. The controls can be any combination of the following
#1 - # of recipients in one message
#2 - total # of messages sent in any given hour
#3 - total # messages sent in any given day

Please help! ipad/iphone to itunes syncing problems

For the past few days I've been having problems getting my ipad to take the new update. Everytime I would tell it to update it would either freeze shortly into the backup or it would tell me that "itunes could not back up the ipad " " because the ipad backup could not be saved to the computer". Anyways, I finally thought I fixed this by following the steps of deleting the backup, etc. After I did that, it started giving me an error message of "itunes could not back up the ipad " " because a session could not be started with the ipad". I've looked at other error messages associated with this, and they seemed to point at a direct ipad-itunes problem, but whenever I tryed to sync up my iphone, it gave me the same message. It also is not connecting to the itunes store (will only say itunes store on a white background), but will download updates and things. I've taken down all potential firewalls, and I'm just plain stuck and confused right now.
Please someone help me... I feel like I'm losing my mind being unable to figure this out!

Outlook Sent Email Problem!

I use Outlook 2010 and use two accounts one is btinternet and the other a gmail. Over the last few days when I send a gmail it posts a copy in the gmail "Sent Box" and also posts the same copy in the btinternet "Sent Box" - this does
not happen if I reverse the process. I have trawled Microsoft and other help sites and have not come across any reference to this particular problem or solution only the problem of saving emails twice in one "Sent Box" can anyone help please?

Hi,
Have you checked if you have set any Outlook rule to move a copy of sent items to the other account? To check this, please go to Home tab > Rules > Rules & Alerts.
If you have any antivirus or third-party add-in installed, please temporarily turn off the antivirus and open Outlook in safe mode to test the issue again. To open Outlook in safe mode, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook.exe /safe and press Enter.
If above doesn't make any difference, please try to create a new mail profile in Control Panel and reconfigure your email accounts to check the result.

Lost phone numbers from Contacts when syncing icloud ipad iphone outlook

I seem to have lost some contact numbers from icloud, ipad and iphone contacts and wonder if this was a syncing error with outlook to icloud.. can anyone help as these are business contacts. I also use Groups and CJournal on ipad too.

Contacts are not completely backed up as part of the iPhone backup. Only contacts necessary to back up your recent call and favorites lists are backed up, which often won't include all your contacts. (In fact, if the IT person backed up and then restored your phone from backup that may be how he lost many of your contacts.) Also, restoring from backup will revert all settings and data on your phone to those contained in the backup. If you want to try to restore from your backup anyway follow this procedure:
Before connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer, go to Preferences, on the Devices tab check "Prevent…from syncing automatically"
Now connect your phone to your computer and import your photos to avoid losing any recent photos (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083)
Open iTunes and when your phone appears on the left sidebar, right-click on its name and choose Transfer Purchases (to transfer any recent purchased into your iTunes library)
Right-click on the name of her phone again and choose Restore from Backup, choosing the backup you wish to restore from
When this completes you can go back and re-enable automatic syncing if you prefers this

Iphone 3g pop3 email problems when having more than 1 email account.

sending emails from more than one pop email account...
after checking and re-checking settings for pop email accounts [ follow the apple settings example for setting the first email account] i found that the iphone 3G does not support having more then one smtp server in other words it does not supports - different smtp servers.] so the only way to make two or more email accounts to work correctly is to use only one smtp server for all the email accounts and this will allow to send emails from more than one email account.
i think this is a bug on the iphone 3G......!!

I access two email accounts with the iPhone's Mail client - an IMAP account and a POP account. The accounts have different authenticated SMTP servers and I have no problems sending with either account.

Outlook sending Emails Problem

We have problem with ms outlook2010.
we are using pop accoun,When we are sending any mail from outlook2010 some time 3mb file will sending immediately and sometimes i will send 1mb file it will take long time,

Yes, I am totally agree with
Anil’s suggestion (as you should first check it). But, it seems that you are using third party plug-ins or add-ins in Outlook and it is one of the common causes of slow sending/receiving of emails.
Open
Outlook in safe mode by using the “outlook.exe /safe” and then try to send an email if it works properly, then immediately turn off those additional plug-ins.

CALLING IPHONE USERS iphone 4 has email problems! ...

Hi folks. Solved my Palm Pre problems. Threw it in the bin. Got an iphone 4, wonderful, feel like I am in 23rd century. BUT my emails will send and receive beautifully, but will not notify me when they do. Apple support say it is the Bt email - it does not support PUSH only FETCH. As I usually push a car and fetch is something I shout to my dogs I have no idea what he is talking about but anyway have loaded up two of my emaiol accounts one on push one on fetch and it makes no difference. So am baffled. I can only pick up emails when I get the phone and go into email. Pretty useless. Anyone out there got an iphone who can tell me if this push/fetch thing is right? I cannot believe that all BT email users cannot use their iphones properly! Can anyone suggest anything? Please?

Thank you all, especially liquorice and dippu, I seem to have come to same conclusion. A software glitch which will involve a complete wipe and re-update, re-install and....oh, I cannot be bothered.....the phone was not new, so at £50 for a beautiful condition iphone 4 selling on eBay at £120+, I have a phone which is the equivalent of my daughters iphone 4s at £30 a month contract, at £50 cost and £10 a month contract, so I am not complaining. When I get round to it I may do a total wipe but as I live on a laptop as well and the emails come in anyway, it's a case of is it worth the bother? Thanks for youir tips anyway. I have my question answered - it is nothing to do with BT email.

Outlook 2003 SP3 Problem

I am running XP Professional on a Lenovo 3000 N100 laptop. I have the following problem(s) after the computer is up and running with Outlook open for several hours out look crashes (it will no longer receive email). I shut it down and attempt to reopen, it will not reopen properly. In order to get it to run properly I have to reboot. I have attempted to detect and repair with and without the office cd-rom, neither of which repairs the situation. When shutting down after the above happens I must manually close explorer and sometimes several other programs/applications. Does anybody have a solution?

By "If I open the message by holding down the shift key everything is ok", do you mean hold the Shift key meanwhile double click on the message?

IPhone 4 - Sending Email Problem

When sending an email through various email accounts on my iPhone it won't work and I get this message:
"A copy has been placed in your Outbox. No password provided.
Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter a password."
What password are they talking about? I have gone into the settings for each account and have put a password for each smtp outgoing mail server and also have made sure each server was turned on.
I am not sure what more to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having this exact same issue. Was there ever a resolution? It seems that I can reply/forward emails that do not have attachments, but if I try to forward an email with an attachments, I get the same error. "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. My password is already entered in the outgoing server, I have checked it multiple times as well as deleted and re-setup the account, in addition it does send out some emails just not all of them. Please let me know if you can help! Thanks.
