IPad &iPhone syncing apps & tunes

Wheni first got my iPhone & iPad I set them up to sync apps & music thru iTunes on my PC. The I set them up in the cloud for notes, photos, mail. But how do I change the apps & music sync from iTunes on the PC to the cloud?

My app on my iphone doesn't sync to my new ipad? App is word with friends. I have the app on both iphone and ipad but they aren't synced and aren't the same game.

Looking for something in the iPad/iPhone Airport App

Hi
I have been waiting for the airport utility for iPad/iPhone to come as I frequently travel with just my iPad and Airport Express. However, I have been unable to configure it when away from home.
So, Apple has released a utility but it appears to be the most important feature for being on the road, that is, the ability to switch connection sharing (so you can hook up to a hotel system).
Is it that I can't find it or it doesn't allow you to do it. In the iPad app, I am looking for the ability to switch between bridge mode and the other two.

The AirPort Utility App that is available with iOS 5 does pretty much everything that the Mac or PC versions do including controlling both the NAT & DHCP services to allow you reconfigure an AirPort as a bridge.

This has worked fine with MobileMe with only a couple of minor glitches in the past.

IPad & iPhone - Deleting Apps?

I have a generation 1 iPad and an iPhone 4S. I am running iTunes under Windows 7 Home Premium.
I am having difficulty removing apps from both devices *and* iTunes. I keep getting unwanted apps proliferating throughout my three destinations. I have tried deleting the apps from both untethered devices and iTunes, then reconnecting each device in turn to iTunes.
What is a sure-fire way to remove apps?

I have done that already. The apps on my summary page on in my iTunes Library are not the same as the apps that appear on my iPhone and iPad.
1. I deleted the apps that I didn't want out of my library, but even after syncing my devices, the unwanted apps are still on the devices.
2. As well, many apps on my devices never even appeared in my iTunes library. I can't get rid of them because I can't seem to access them from anywhere. How do you delete an app from your iPad/iPhone when it isn't even showing up in your iTunes library on my PC?

What does "will not let me" mean? Can you explain in a little more detail? Explain what you are doing step by step.

Stop iPhone syncing Apps

Everytime I sync my iPhone, it transfers the apps I have installed, into iTunes and onto my computers hard drive. It didn't used to do this until I used the apps tab in itunes to re-arrange my home screen. I have unticked the "Automatically sync new apps" box, but iTunes behaves exactly the same if it's ticked or unticked.
I don't want it to transfer my new apps into itunes every time I sync. It's a huge waste of time. I don't have automatic downloads on.

It's annoying that I have no choice. It's going sync apps to my computer even though I don't want it to, (just like I don't want it to make backups) and then if I delete them from my phone it wont delete them from my computer. One of the downsides of owning an iPhone I guess, oh well.

How can I have my Monopoly app game that is now on my ipad to be on my iphone. If I go on my iphone and go in apps store and click not on iphone, the Monopoly game is not there...

It won't work. The iPad Monopoly and the iPhone Monopoly are separate games.

Can't scroll in TV Shows at the iPad/iPhone Sync tab

My iPad or my iPhone is connected and after the synchronization I would like to add some TV shows which start with the letter "F".
1. Switch to TV Shows
2. The box 'Sync TV Shows" is checked
3. The box "Automatically include ..." is unchecked
4. In the box "Shows" I can see 16 TV Shows
Now I try to scroll down inside the box "Shows" to get to the TV Shows starts with "F" for example but it's impossible to scroll down.
The same bug happen where I can select the Seasons/Episodes.

I also want to remove some movies from my iPad and iPhone and there is no way I can do this without being able to manually sync with the Laptop which is running windows 7. Has anyone else come across this and please can you help? I am no expert in fact I know very little about the Laptop, it is my Husbands baby but he doesn't understand anything to do with Apple including iTunes. I will need any advise explained step by step please.

Try downloading and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes from the first link below. If that doesn't do it, the suggestions in the second article should resolve the installation issue.

IPhone sync apps with multiple iTunes accounts

I have a US iTunes account and a UK iTunes account because I am temporarily living in the UK. I am having a problem in which data associated with certain apps on my iPhone are periodically being deleted. When I update apps, I am sometimes required to login to the US store and sometimes the UK store. I think this depends on which store they were downloaded from but I don't know how to tell. I frequently get messages when I try to update that say I need to log into a different iTunes store to do the update. I am guessing that if I were to update apps that were obtained from the UK store while logged in to the US store, it might replace the app with a different version and in the process wipe the associated data. Is that possible? Is there a better way to deal with the situation so this does not happen?

New ipad, transfer/sync apps

I plan to buy an ipad. My wife has one that we sync to the imac. I sync using my MBP but do that less as I now backup to icloud.. How do I get the apps that I use and its data from her ipad to my new one? I can't sync her ipad to my MBP without getting some error message.

Your post is a little confusing to me. But the bottom line is that of you are sharing this iPad now and backing up with iCloud, simply restore the new iPad from the backup of the current iPad.
Back up the current iPad first, so that the backup is as current as it can be. Then activate the new iPad and when you get to a certain point in the process, you will have to opportunity to restore from an iCloud or an iTunes backup. Select the iCloud option.
This advice is based on the assumption that you are sharing the iPad and all of the apps and data on the device which also means that you are sharing an Apple ID.

ICal iPad, iPhone syncing problems

I have turned off icloud calendars on both devices then I have reset them both and then turned back on icloud calendars, numerous times, yet still my calendar entries do not show up on my iPad.
I have both devices set to show "all events"
This is a recent problem.

Many thanks, that was indeed true and it does answer part of the question. Do you happen to know why one event every now and then will not sync properly, but if you erase it and start again, it will? I am not joking....

IPad & iPhone Sync problems

This is starting to make a hole in my head!
I have one album that doesn't want to sync with my iPhone. I tried repairing the database - no joy. Then I tried rebuilding the database - even less joy (since it deleted all the images from 2 of my albums and I had to replace those.)
Every time I would try to sync to the iPhone, I would get a -50 error. Meanwhile, syncing the same album to AppleTV worked fine.
OK, I decided this was probably due to a problem with a single photo. So I muddled through testing, and found 4 photos that were preventing the sync. I removed those 4 photos, and it was able to sync with the iPhone.
But then I tried to sync the same album to my iPad, and the -50 error is back. When I get some time, I'll try to track down the additional images that might be causing it for the iPad.
But this leaves me frustrated and confused:
1) Why would the same album sync fine to AppleTV, but have a problem syncing to iPhone and iPad?
2) Why would different photos be causing the same error on different devices?
3) Why is this only an issue for photos in that 1 album?
4) What would cause individual images not to sync?
BTW - to fix the problem with the individual images, I duplicated the master for those files. I then lifted/stamped the adjustments. The new image was able to sync just fine.
Any suggestions?

Well, after hours of troubleshooting, I think I figured out the problem.
First, the fix:
Select all images in the "offending" album.
While holding down the "Option" key, click right and select "Generate Previews".
Then re-sync, and it works.
My theory on why this works:
I suspect there was no problem with the Aperture Library. I believe the problem was with the iTunes Optimized Image Cache - you know, when iTunes says "Optimizing xx of yy images for iPad". That cache, I believe, is only updated when there is a change to the image. I'm also guessing that deleting the image from the device (iPad or iPhone) does not delete the image from the cache, so if you then re-add it to the device, it pulls it from the cache. So the only way to re-generate the cached image is to make a change to the image. This can be accomplished by making additional adjustments to the image. But of course, no one wants to do that. So instead, another way to update the timestamp on the image is to regenerate the preview. When iTunes sees the update to the timestamp, it goes ahead and runs its "Optimizing..." task, recreating the cached image that gets dumped onto the iPad or iPhone.
So, I believe this is actually a bug in iTunes.
