IPad iPod app says there is no music... OS 4.3.3.

Have the original iPad--  iPod app says there is no music, but there are 918 songs sync'd and loaded. Have updated to OS4.3.3. Any advice/troubleshooting tips?

It's happened to me a couple of times, and I've 'fixed' it be removing any song via iTunes and then copying it back onto the iPad. An alternative (though I didn't try it when it happened to me) is have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • IPod Classic says there is No Music; no difference in Memory

I have an iPod Classic that I got in 2007. It's been working fine except today it says there is no music in it. However it shows no difference in the memory that's being used. For some reason, the documents in the memory's being read as "Other" instead of "Audio."
This is quite distressing as I'm sure many of you can sympathize. Please help me out.

I just bought one of the new Macbook Pros on Friday. I was using a White 13" Macbook until the logic board decided to go out about a week ago. I thought that I might as well get a new computer instead of putting in a new board so I got one of the new 15" intel core i5 pros. My iPod is a silver 160 gb that was previously synced to the white mb.
Upon the first connection to the new mbpro, iTunes started freaking out and wouldn't respond and I had to force quit iTunes. I ejected my iPod from the computer (correctly) and then noticed that iTunes was still acting weird after reopening. I looked at my iPod and realized that there was no music on my iPod. I then checked the "about" section of my iPod to find that the hd still had 92 gb used but categorized as other.
Now, I cannot figure out how to get my music back and why iTunes continues to freeze every time I connect my iPod. Please help!!! (I was slightly frustrated about the logic board but these recent problems occurring after dropping over $2100 on the new mbpro are really irritating me)

  • My apple ipod classic 80gb says there is no music - anything on my ipod, but says it only has 37gb free. Then i try and plug it into my pc with iTunes on (i've set it to do not automatically sync devices) but it still freezes every time. can't restore.

my apple ipod classic 80gb says there is no music - anything on my ipod, but says it only has 37gb free. Then i try and plug it into my pc with iTunes on (i've set it to do not automatically sync devices) but it still freezes every time. the only way to unfreeze it is by detatching the ipod or resetting with menu/centre (until it loads up again, where it immediately unfreezes and comes up with a load of messages saying "cannot read iPod" and when i try and restore it by pressing menu/centre button while it's plugged in, it says "cannot restore as it is being used by another program" or "error 1415". Any ideas how to sort this out? hope i haven't majorly screwed it up. thanks.

Sorted it out. If anyone has this problem i reccommend visiting http://forums.ilounge.com/ipod-classic-ipod-5g-video/237546-ipod-classic-80gb-fr eezes-itunes-need-restore-plz-help-2.html#post1403546 there's some pretty good advice on it. have to go into control panel and re-format iPod into NTFS file. good luck.

  • After charging ipod says there is not music on ipod even though storgage useage indicated all of the music is still there

I recently charged/synched my 160 GB ipod classic - I may have disconnected it before it was ready.  Now the ipod says there is not music/playlists on the ipod - when I had used up over half the space previously.  I think the music is still on the ipod because it indicated something listed as "other" is taking up the same space the music used to take up.  How do I get the ipod to go back to recognizing the music?

Other is corrupt files, probably caused when you disconnected. Connect the iPod to iTunes and use the Restore button on the Device/Summary pane. This will remove everything and then re-load the iPod with the contents of your Library.

  • IPod 160GB says there is nothing on it, but only has 148GB space

I was putting music on my 160GB when my power surged and turned off the computer. My iPod had about 12GB of space used on it, but now it says there is no music or videos. When I look at it in iTunes, there is only 148GB of space available, so all of that music must be on there somewhere.
What I want to do is, if possible, restore all the music. I tried doing the 5 R's, but that didn't work. If that isn't possible, I would like to completely wipe out the iPod, reverting it back to it's 160GB state. Any ideas?

This process started in the early days when Hard Drives were really small and marketing departments thought it was a big deal to make a disk seem a little bigger than it really is. Also many folks from cutomers to salespeople found it difficult to calculate using binary numbers so it seemed simpler to just decimalize the GB numbers. No body felt ripped off because all the numbers were small anyway.
Now that common disk sizes have grown huge the difference between 160 and 148 is significant and people do feel ripped off when they notice. Unfortunately the use of decimal GB sizes is entrenched in the industry. When Apple buys the HD to put in the iPod they are buying a 160 Gb drive and all 160GB drives from all manufacturers will have 160 printed on the exterior while still having only 148GB(binary) Nothing Apple can do to stop that.

  • IPod app says syncing but not connected

I am at a hotel with wifi and I had my iBook iPad and iPod touch all connected to the wifi network. When I touch the iPod app on my iPad it says syncing on the bottom and cancel syncing in the center of the window. The iPad is not connected by a USB cable to my iBook. I cannot connect them and sync so knave been using MobileMe for calendar, contacts and photos. Why does the iPod app say syncing? I have used both force quit and reset on the iPod app. I disconnected the wifi and it still says syncing. Help!

It is a pre intel iBook so I do not connect it to my iPad. I use MobileMe to sync calendars, contacts, bookmarks automatically. I can access photos and documents through the cloud. I don't know whty the iPod app thinks it is syncing. It is not connected. I even broke the wifi connections on the iPod touch and the iBook. I can not make the iPod app stop saying it is syncing even though it cannot be doing it.

  • HT1320 my ipod classic says it has no music on it

my ipod classic says it has no music on it, please help me

Sounds like the device's internal database is probably corrupt. If all the content is in your library simply restore the iPod. If not see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. The iLounge article at the end of the table at the bottom shows how to extract your media from the hidden folders on the drive.

If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6, the system sound control is in the task bar at the bottom. Double tap the home button and swipe all the way to the right in the task bar to get to the speaker icon on the left side. Tap on that and the sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • I have backed up my ipad to my laptop prior to updating to the latest IOS and now I want to restore the backup back onto the ipad but it says there is not enough space? I have tried unticking all apps i no longer need, music etc but this still doesnt work

I have updated up my ipad2 which had the original version on it (4.??) to the latest version of IOS. Before I did this I backed up the ipad to my laptop so I wouldnt lose precious pics and videos of my baby boy.  Now that the latest version is on the ipad it is now asking me if I want to start as a new ipad or restore my backup from itunes.  So i select restore my backup from itunes and connect to itunes but it now says there is not enough space to do so.  I have a feeling it is because there are alot of pics on our ipad which i presume are all in this backup, many of which we do not need on the ipad anymore but I have no idea on how I go about deleting these pics??  And how do I find where on my laptop this backup is and most importantly the video and pics of my baby boy.

Restoring an iPad from an iTunes-generated backup should not require an Apple ID password.
Did you encrypt the iPad backup? If so, then trying to restore will require entering the encryption password.
