IPad is crazy, like someone's touching it.

iPad is going crazy, like someone's touching the screen. It's been restored. Is there anything else to try?

You should probably try turning off your device and turning it back on.
It should work for a little while but, it should.

  • My iPad 2 acts like I am touching all over the screen when I am not.

On the plane ride the other day I was using iBooks, and my iPad started scrolling through the pages like crazy (even when I was not touching the screen).
Now, it will just start performing actions (clicking, swiping, multi touch, zoom, etc) even when I am not touching the screen at all. For instance, when I am in mail, it will all of a sudden bring up the reply menu, change emails, close the app, scroll, etc and it is just going crazy.
I don't know what to do to fix it, but I am 3+ hours from the nearest apple store.
Any suggestions? Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm having the exact same issue now. What did you end up doing?
I restored the thing but didn't work. It keeps doing it. It does it for so long time I even took a video of it to show at the store: http://youtu.be/BqGCyEQU-mY
    Good luck!

  • Phone going crazy like someone else has control of it... Any fix or updates for this?

My wifes LG G2 phone has been going crazy for quite some time now... Acts like some else has control of it. I've read in other forums that this is quite an issue with lots of other people and its a software issue but can't seem to find a fix for it. Any ideas?

You can do 1 of 3 things, or all.  1:  use verizon's cloud to back up whats on the phone, like contacts, pictures and music etc...just know you only have 5GB of cloud space with VZW.  2:  Use Google.  Since you have a google OS and I'm sure her email is connected to the phone, all contacts will be backup up that way and you can use Google Drive since you have 15GB with Google to back up media and such.  The app settings are set to Google backup already.  3:  You can attach the phone to the computer and set to Media Sync/Device and back up everything media-wise to the PC.  I suggest doing this method though:  Use Verizon or Google to back up the contacts and the PC for media.  Its just faster and easier PLUS...when you RESET do the following:  Settings-- Backup and Restore--UNCHECK automatic restore.  This will keep your saved app settings from reloading and might help with any problem app that was on the phone.  After reboot you'll have a just-like out-of-the-box phone.  It'll take time for verizon or google to sync up and you'll need to disable whatever apps you had disabled previously as well as reset-up your preferences, but its the easiest thing to do rather than wait til Mon-tues for a replacement.  If this doesnt work, you'll definitely need to exchange.  And, since VZW is going to require you to reset the phone anyway you'll be ahead of the game.  IT IS POSSIBLE for you to call them on your phone and let them remotely diagnose your wife's phone, but I'm sure you'd need to reset before doing that out of privacy.

  • IPad does crazy things when not touched

Basically, I'll be going along on an app or on safari or anything and then randomly my iPad will just start doing crazy things, and I can't do anything. So for example, I'll be on safari and then my iPad will scroll up to the top of the page, type in the address bar some random numbers and letters and just keep doing that. And then the only way (sometimes) to stop it is to lock the screen, but sometimes that doesn't even work and I then can't even unlock the iPad for a few seconds. I've tried restoring it but that doesn't do anything. Is there anything else I could try or should I just take it to a genius bar?

You may need to get it back to Apple, but this is worth a try if you haven't done it already.
Try a hard reset by pressing and holding down on the sleep button at the top of the iPad while holding down on the home button at the bottom, until the Apple logo appears and the iPad restarts. Launch any app, surf the net, whatever, and see what happens.

  • My ipad is jumping from different pages and it looks like someone is typing on the page.

Hi my ipad has started jumping from different pages and then the keyboard comes up and it looks like someone else is typing on the screen, can anyone help?

You can try these things first and see if they help at all.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit all apps and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

You didn't, but you are about the 4th person today who has done this. It just wastes my time, and yours, and gets frustrating after awhile.
I do believe you have a screen/logicboard issue and while you can try Restoring it from backup in iTunes, and then as a new iPhone if that doesn't work, I don't believe it will help.

  • Feeling Electrical Current... Why do I feel an electrical buzz when I touch someone while my laptop is on my lap.  It is a weird electrical stickiness feeling, when you slide your hand on someone's arm it skips like you were touching rubber. Help!

I get an electrical buzz feeling when I touch someone else or someone else touches me, while my laptop is on my lap.
It is a weird electrical stickiness feeling... when you slide your hand on someone's arm it skips as if you were touching rubber.
    Anyone have any remedies?
My girlfriend won't touch me anymore when I am on my computer and thinks she isn't getting pregnant because I am "frying my boys" with electricity.
I called Apple Tech Support - and because my support expired 20 days ago (even though this problem has been going on for months) they said they wouldn't help me.
They suggested the laptop was never meant for a lap - lol... and I should only use it on a table.
    Help - I'm frying here!

  • How many people would like adobe to create an app where iPad works just like a wacom tablet?

Honestly, the adobe companion apps for iPad aren't that great. I feel that adobe can do better. They should improve all of them. They have potential, but need work. I have been looking around, and a lot of people have been asking this question, is there anyway to turn your iPad into a Wacom tablet. Well there isn't. You can view it on your iPad using apps like air display, but you can't use it like an art tablet with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc. I would appreciate anyone's comments, and ideas on this topic. Thank you for your time.

    Hi Bella,
We are working to launch more applications which can be use on Ipads or tablets. Once we will have the updates we will keep you posted.
Adobe photoshp Touch can be use on Ipad.

  • Help: I can not control my laptop random things opening and changing; its like someone else is controlling it!!

About a week ago, my laptop starting having a mind of its own. First the trackpad stopped working properly as it wouldn't move across the desktop or the cursor would show up at random places or would be really slow. Then a few days later, I would be typing in pages and all of a sudden iphoto would open or some other random program. At times, the computer will be fine, at other times, it just randomly open and closes different programs, opens the dashboard, or I could be typing and all of a sudden its starts typing at a random place 4 paragpahs previously or it opens up firefox and starts typing there. It is driving me crazy!! I use my laptop for work and planning as I am a teacher but its getting to the point that I do not want to use it all.
Just as i was typing this, iphoto opened, it opened another tab in my browser, it scrolled down to the bottom of my page and it continued my typing in the middle of the paragpah above!!
Please, can someone help! Its like someone has taken over my computer.

You will have to forgive me as I am not very computer literate.
I have been using Macs for years and have had OS X for a while and never had an issue until the past week.
    A few comments/questions/responses for you:
Are you saying that if I am typing a document in Pages, it is possible for any program in the dock to open at the same time as I am typing without me going to the dock itself? Or if I am loooking at a certain site, another random site can open easily?
I turned off my internet connection and there were no irrational movements. I also went into the activity monitor/network. With the internet off, their was still data being sent and received?? And there were spikes being seen even though the internet was off, does this sound correct?  As I am typing now, there are consistent high spikes being received and low sporadic spikes for data being sent. Peak is 10 KB/sec. How do I investiate a spike?
I also just had 2 other people work on my computer to see if it is just me, but they had similar issues.
Thanks for your response, hopefully we can get this figured out, as I live 8 hours away from a Mac store or help centre.  I will also download that virus package.
    Thanks!!

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect to your computer & click on the "Update your device using iTunes".
Tip - You may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. After you update to iOS 5.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

  • Sounds like someone is pushing buttons while talking

IPhone 5 - it seems to be getting worse.  I always thought it was my mom pushing buttons on her phone while we were talking.  But last night we were talking via Bluetooth.  No one was holding a phone.  It seems to happen when a woman is speaking.  I'm wondering if it has something to do with a tone in the voice that triggers a "tone" sound.  Like someone is pushing numbers on the phone.  It's highly annoying and the other person can hear it.  What causes this and how can it be stopped?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Well, the phone should turn the screen off when you hold it against your ear. Does the sensors work as they should in other apps? You could try running Diagnostics under Settings > About phone.

  • HT204150 Following problem: I have around 600 contacts on my iphone and Ipad and would like to sync with contact list on my mac book air but its not working and whatever I do I get stuck on the 44 contacts I have on my mac  contact-list. Please Help!!!!

ollowing problem: I have around 600 contacts on my iphone and Ipad and would like to sync with contact list on my mac book air but its not working and whatever I do I get stuck on the 44 contacts I have on my mac  contact-list. Please Help!!!!  thanks

First, be sure that the contacts on the devices are in the "icloud" section and not the "On my iPhone" (or iPad) section of the contact listings/groups.
    Missing contacts:
Here's a test to perform - using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and go to the Contacts page.  If most of them are gone, then they are gone.
If they show up, then the problem is that your device is not connecting to the Contacts database on icloud.
On the device, go to Settings>icloud.  Be sure icloud is on and using the right ID.  If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Delete Account - this just disconnects the device from that account, no data is lost.  Then log back in using the correct ID.  ALSO - be sure the Contacts are turned on (on the same screen).
Note:  Contacts are not part of an iCloud backup, since they are part of contacts database on iCloud's servers.   So performing a restore will not help.
    Contacts are gone from icloud.com.
Then they have been deleted.  There are many reasons for this.  One possibility is that someone else is using the same iCloud account (family member, etc.) and they deleted contacts, thinking they did want them on THEIR device.  How to get them back?  Unfortunately, an iCloud backup does not include any of the sync databases, like contacts, notes, calendars, reminders, etc. because the data is already stored in these databases.  Your only hope for restoring the data is if you had that data on a computer (like a mac's Contacts, Calendars, etc.) and that data was backed up using whatever backup software you typically use (e.g. Time Machine on a mac).  Just restore the data files back to the computer.  Other than that, I'm afraid the data is gone.

I have just purchased a lightning to 30 pin adaptor to use on an iPad mini and a gen5 iPod touch both devices are running iOS 8.1.3 and come up with The error message "this accessory is not supported by this device "
THis is means they are not charging on a 30 pin cable and the touch won't work in my Apple iPod dock - no audio out or charge. Have re powered both devices to no avail am wondering if the iOS version is the problem
    Help!

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.
This is lightning to 30 pin adapter: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B---Lightning-to-30-Pin-Adapter/6651 936.p?id=1218803450821&skuId=6651936#tab=overview
    Is this what you bought?
You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.
