IPad is poor in playing music

How comes that the ipad is so poor in playing music, compared to an ipod nano 3G or 4G? Just as an example, my mom's nano can shuffle the songs by album, by artist or whatever. This is very nice. The "Genius" stuff of the ipad cannot compete with that. I like listening to different kinds of music. Hearing the same kind of music again and again is boring. And it doesn't get better by some AI suggesting more music of the same kind.

Submitting to the feedback site didn't help. AFAICS there were just little improvements in the ipad's player, if there were any at all.
The problem is not good or bad software coming from Apple. I could live with that. The problem is that Apple uses its power to keep competitive software out. This way there are no improvements, but only changes (for good or bad) that don't interfere with Apple's own interests.
I would wish that Apple didn't put its own interest on top of anything else, but they don't give a dime on the wishes of their customers.

The batterys the ipods come with are very sensetive somtimes they dont react right to the first couple of charges. Try fully charging it and then leaving it on until its completely drained a few times. If that doesnt work it might be a lemon.

My ipad 2 won't play music or videos.

When I try to play music or videos on my ipad 2, they change to the pause button like it is going to play, but instantly changes back. I have done a hard reset and it fixes it, but then the problem comes back the next day. I have been going through this cycle for about 2 weeks now.

Have you tried resetting all settings?
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered if you do this.

Ios 6.1.2 destroyed ipad's ability to play music...how do I fix?

After the update to 6.1.2, the Music app will function normally some of the time and then randomly stop working. If I try to play a song, it flashes the "play" mode for half a second, but doesn't play at all, then goes back to stop as though I didn't hit the play button at all. Tried shutting the ipad off and on a few times. Didn't help.

i had something similar happen when i upgraded to 6.1 - in my case, I was informed by Apple support that I needed to delete and reload the music that was no longer playing.
If I were you I would first try to reload the music from a backup and failing that I would check to make sure you have a full backup of your iPad and then delete the music and have iTunes reload new copies for you. That did the trick for me.
IMO, none of the operating systems for phones, PCs and tablets are very reliable or friendly. They seem to trample over data without being able to detect the errors, so the user gets no warning - something just stops working and the user is left scurrying around to figure out the problem or reboot. It's because the developers try to reduce the size of the operating system and trade off user-friendliness as a result. Consumer electronics are not considered mission-critical.

You needed to enter a passcode before using the touch id.
If you touch id isn't working, then erase the old print and re do it.
I use two prints and have no issues using it.

HT1947 Remote iPad volume not playing - plays music on iMac instead

I loaded Remote for iPad to my iPad2 and it found my music library through home sharing no problem. However, when I hit play to listen to the music on my ipad the ipad volume is silent (it shows the music time advancing) but the music is playing full volume on my imac instead. WTH? Anyone else encounter this and know how to make a quick fix so I can listen to the music on ipad? I have successfully loaded home sharing to my mac air and listen to music on that computer no problem (without it playing on my imac).

Why would I need to access my desktop PC from my iPad if we are all in the same room together? Wouldn't I just click "Play" from the desktop?
Why get up and press Play when you have a remote in your hand?

Multiple copies of music on iPad, and some songs play as a different song

I've been having this weird problem that I have been looking into for many times and never have found a straight answer.
I've been finding that I have multiple copies of the same song on my Music (built-in) app on the iPad 2. I don't know why it's been doing this. Yesterday, I finally got a chance to restore my iPad 2. After the restore, the same problem consisted. Not only has that been happening, but I also have been having another weird problem with the music app too. I have a song that I want to play , but it ends up playing a different song. For example, choose the song "we are the champions" or some song, and then it plays a different song like "We will rock you" or some other song. (it's not these songs, I don't have them in my library. They are just examples) but it keeps the name. So when the iPad "says" it's playing "we are the champions" it is actually playing "we will rock you" or any other song.
Sorry if I haven't made this clear enough. I tried the best I could. I have never had this problem until I updated to iOS 5. I am currently running iOS 5.0.1
Is there any way I can fix this problem I have been having? I already tried the restore. I don't know what else to do.

I'm not sure about the playing a different song when you choose a nother, but I Just figured out the multiple copies issue.I had been having the same problem and realize that some of the songs in that album were marked as "part of a compilation." SO i went to each individual song in that album and unchecked the box (when you go to th e"get info" screen) Hope that helps.

You can start the playlist playing in the iPod app and then switch into the Photos app and start your (non-music) slideshow - as you've found out you can currently only select a single track in the Photos app. Whether that will change in iOS 5 I don't know, but you could try leaving feedback for Apple : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

i had the same problem after i updated my iphone yesterday. today the phone did not wanna play any songs that i downloaded from i-tunes. the song i copied from my cds worked fine. i connected my laptop to the internet and played some songs from itunes and synchronized my phone after that.

About all that can be suggested is to use the feedback form and talk to Apple. They have communicated with some users, trying to get more info to find out just what the battery drain is so they can fix it. Unfortunately with the myriad of operating systems, apps and individual tweaks, there could be several combinations of settings that are draining the battery.
My personal suspicion is that it has something to do with iCloud and the wifi syncing. (My ipad, before I changed the setting, was reaching out to find a sync on a regular basis. And it may still be doing so, however I set my iTunes to not automatically open to keep my device from trying to sync several times in an evening...not to mention the constant aggravation of iTunes opening regularly)
That said, I could be wrong and it could be an app that users have in common, or several apps.

Does a Reset work? Mostly unlikely! [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!
