IPad keeps charging and not charging really fast when plugged in.

My 'new' iPad is at 4% battery, and having plugged it in to charge (using the Lightning connector), the battery icon at the top right keeps flashing (charging to not charging) really quickly and making the charge noise continuously. This happens when connected to all sockets in my house, so is not an issue with the mains. Is this a problem with my iPad or with the Lightning connector? Please help. This iPad is essential for work purposes and I need it up and running as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Problem solved! It was a dodgy plug.

I tried to reset my iPhone (3gs) with deleting all data. When it power off and automatically again on then it is showing Apple logo only. Not restore and startup my phone. iPhone alerming low charge and I tried to charge and not charging.
    What I should do now?

Something has gone wrong. Turn your phone off, then force it into recovery mode:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. In your case, select "new".

This is an iPad user to user forum, so you are not addressing Apple.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good. If your computer/iTunes does not recognize the iPad, then the cable is probably bad.
Try this first -  Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • My iPhone will not charge and will only turn on when plugged into adapter.

I have tried to reset and nothing. It turns off if I unplug it and will only turn on when plugged in. The charge has not moved above 19% even though I let it charge for 3 hours while I was out. What do I do?

  • Macbook Pro alternates between charging and not charging

    Hello,
I have a 15-inch Late 2011 MBP, and the problem that I am currently having, is when I am charging my MBP from a relativly low charge, or when I am charging it as well as running a highly demanding program, the power adapter will get extremely hot to the tuch, and my computer will then alternate between charing and not chargin. When the computer is aternating between charging and not chargin, the light on the Magsafe connector will be orange (like a normal charge), then it will go out (like I unplugged the addapter from the wall), then it will turn green (like when it is fully charged/or when you first connect it to the computer before it startes chargeing), then it will go back to Orange for a few (~10-15 seconds), then it will start the cycle all over again.
Some side information that might help: This is my second charger for this computer, the cord right behind the Magsafe conector fell apart after a few months; I did however replace if with an Apple 85W power adapter (no offbrand/knockoff). Also, the grounding plug on the extension broke off a while ago, however I did use this same extension (the original that came with my computer) with the original addapter which I had absolutly no problems with (appart from falling appart after a few months).
I am considering getting a new Extension for my computer, because i beleace that the fact that there is no ground is causing static/buzzing when i use headphones, though I bleave this is not realted to my power adapter problem.
So, do you think I should just replace the entire addapter and extension? I wanted to ask here first, because I do not want to get a new addapter if it is going to do the same thing again.
              Thanks for any addvice!

First, if your computer is under Applecare, so is your charger. If it is, just take the charger and computer to the Genius Bar and they'll take care of it. If it's not, you still might want to make the trip to the Genius Bar. The eval is free, and you'll find out exactly what your problem is. Not to mention that you're in the right place to buy another one if you need to.

  • Why does my IPhone Keep Vibrating and Not Charging?

I am having trouble with my phone. The phone is almost a year old, but not quite. The charger is a bit worn, and I'm beginning to wonder if the charger is my problem. I have it on a wall charger by my bed so I can check the time if need be. Here's my issue: it vibrates. A lot. Randomly. And I can't sleep. I'm having problems getting it to stop. I don't know if the connection is weak in the cord, but sometimes it will stop charging, then start again and vibrate. And it'll do this over and over, often it's in really quick succession. I looked online and several people have the same thing. Also, a message/notification will pop up. It says something to the effect of: "Charging is not supported with this accessory." I'm starting to worry about it and wonder if it's killing my phone, because my phone isn't holding a charge. (It just went off about four or five times right now...) My lock button is broken, so I CANNOT TURN THE PHONE OFF. What should I do?
What's the issue, and how can I fix it? My sleep level is low and I need to know if I need to buy another charger. To sum things up, my questions are:
What's causing the vibrations and notifications?
Is this a hardware issue, or a problem with the cord connection?
How much does a new cord cost?
Thanks for looking, and please answer. I need to know whats going on ASAP.
    Thanks again,
    Username411

    Hey Username411,
Thanks for the question and detailed information. I believe you are correct in the issue of constant vibration stems from the iPhone disconnecting and reconnecting while charging. See this article for more information:

Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter
    1. Verify that the outlet being used is working.
    2. Try another USB power adapter if available.
    3. If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
    4. Try another USB cable if available.
    5. Also refer to iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery.
As suggested, you'll want to try charging the iPhone with a different cable to completely isolate the issue. Borrow one from a friend or family member if possible, but if not you can purchase a new one from Apple directly or an authorized reseller. It is important to buy an Apple-branded charger, which leads us to your last question:
Apple 30-pin to USB Cable can be purchase from the Apple Online Store for $19 USD:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA591G/C/apple-30-pin-to-usb-cable?fnode=45
If you find that the issue does lie with your iPhone, check out your service options (as you may still be in warranty). You may want to review your options anyway due to that lock button issue:

  • Macbook battery no longer holding a charge and not charging

I've already reset the PMU and PRAM and calibrated the battery, 3 times. The battery is now on 5% and won't charge any more. It's less than a year old.
Will Apple replace this piece of crap battery or do I have to shell out $130 for a new one? And is this a common problem?

Yep, they should send you a new one for free. Same thing as dalowang, I had a 3 month old MacBook and battery wasn't working. Apple sent me a new one but now it's happening all over again. Apple said it was a problem with my computer. Off to the far away apple store tomorrow. Anyone got any suggestions before I go?

  • When I plug my ipad in to charge its just coming up with a red bar in the charge icon and not charging

When i plug in my ipad to charge its just coming up with a red bar in the recharge icon and not charging.... what does this mean and how can it be fixed... checked all cables, not broken

First make sure you are using the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a good wall outlet. When the iPad battery is completely drained it may take some time on the charger before the iPad responds. Be patient and let the iPad remain on the charger for at least an hour then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is at 100%. If the iPad does not restart Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

    Hello, 92.romil.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would make sure you are using an Apple branded cable with your iPad.  If you are, the troubleshooting steps in the article below may help.  The steps listed below for the iPhone and iPod still apply to your iPad.
    Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

Could be the charger or cable. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
