IPAD keeps loosing verizon mail account?

IPAD looses my verizon email account.  Re-entering it puts me back in business but I don't know why this is happening?

I have exactly the same problem in Australia.  I'm using the Optus 3G network in Melbourne.  I seem to be having most problems after leaving a WiFi network. The service indicator says I have 3G service but all the apps say 'no connection'
I'm using a new iPad 4G 64G

    First, changing your DNS settings could not possibly have any effect on this problem.
    When you see an exclamation point in the Wi-Fi menu, from the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network
    Click the Assist me button and select Assistant. Follow the prompts. You may get a warning that Wi-Fi is not available, that you're too far from the base station, or that you're using the wrong password.
    Assuming that you've ruled out those possibilities, click the lock icon in the lower left corner of the preference pane and authenticate, if necessary. From the Location menu at the top of the window, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.

    My wife and I each have an Ipad and use only one mail account. Both Ipads therefore get the same mail and when either one of us deleates an email it also deleates on the other Ipad and this can be a problem if one of us doesn't want that e-mail deleted. Obviously our Ipads are synced and I don't know how to correct this. Any advice ?

    If you both have the same email account, there's no setting on iPad you can use.  When a message is deleted, it's deleted from the mail account server, which will happen on both devices.

  • IPad keeps adding numbers to account

    I share the iCloud with my family members. There are 5 of us. One iPad keeps adding phone numbers and email addresses that I unclick again and again (so as not to receive the various messages/facetime calls of different iphones/ipads from this device) from iCloud account to the iMessages and Facetime. Why does it not seem to get the message that i DON'T want that device to be able to receive and send messages from the different numbers? PLEASE HELP

  • IOS5, iPad(1) and POP Mail account

    It seems that once I updated my iPad to iOS5, it is now looking at my POP mail server and treating every email on the server as NEW...!!! So basically, it keeps pre-loading the next 100 messages and says it's ready to "Load More" messages from the server - over 5,000 messages. Not cool. How do I tell this thing to ignore all those old messages. I cannot sit here for a day or two "dismissing" thousands of messages. Any ideas?
    I am in the midst of updating my iPhone 3G[s] as I type this... so the problem may (or may not) manifest there as well.

    So... per your idea, I "disabled" the two POP accounts in my iPhone and RECREATED them using IMAP instead. Once I did that, a few things happened:
    No massive list of unread messages
    All my emails were there in both accounts
    I could now SEE all the folders I had created on the mail server
    When I delete an email, it always says "Unable to Move Message - The message could not be moved to the mailbox trash." in a popup dialogue... yet the message disappears.
    I will need to experiment when I get home to see how IMAP behaves differently from POP. I know with POP, I could delete local/downloaded emails from my iPhone/iPad and keep it relatively clean and it had NO EFFECT on my home computer and/or the email server. As it stands, it SEEMS that IMAP treats email differently... I'll need to experiment, but it appears that I am not looking at a downloaded "copy" of an email - but actually MANIPULATING what is on the email server - so if I "DELETE" something from my iPhone/iPad, I am GUESSING that it's also being deleted from the server? Also - up until now, I used my home Mac as the "MASTER" of all my emails. I save everything into folders on my local MAC. My worry is (and I'll confirm later) that if I delete something using my phone BEFORE it made it to my Mac's inbox, it'll never get there. My MAC mail app is accessing the same accounts as POP... will look into changing them to IMAP as well (if possible).

  • Can I Keep @talk21 e-mail Account When I Leave BT ...

    I've terminated my BT Broadband account and the contract ends next week.
    Does this mean that my talk21 mails going back to 2004 will be lost unless I sign up for the Premium Mail Servce, and can I even do that as a non-BT BB customer ?
    Given that I know lots of people with @talk21.com addresses who have never been a BT customer I would hope that I can keep my @talk21.com e-mail address.
    Would welcome a prompt answer if anyone has the definitive statement/position on this.

  • New IPad keeps loosing 3G connection

    I purchased the new iPad from Canada and moved it to Haiti where I am presently working.
    In Haïti, I pruchased a 4g plan (more like a 3G+) from Digicell and immediately activated it.
    The speed is great... when it works.
    Problem is, despite having several reception bars, the 3G keeps switching to edge. I can very rarely keep the 3G connection for more than 30 minutes before having it switch to edge. The only way for me to get the 3G running again is to turn the iPad off and turn it on again. If I just turn on airplane mode, the 3G logo will appear but I will get a message saying that it could not connect to the cellular network.
    After reading about this solution somewhere else in the Forum, I tried setting a a new pin password, but that did not change a thing.
    It is a very frustrating problem. I know for a fact that it's specific to the new IPad, as I tried the same chip in an IPad 2 and it works just fine with no interruption.
    I asked Digicell to reset several time my account but that didn't help.
    What can I do to keep my connection from failing. Any solution or software update?
    Using edge in 2012 on the newest apple product is just ridiculous...
    P.S: absolutely no problem with my wifi.

    My ipad2 is loosing all of my contacts

    This just happened to my wife using our iPad2 on iOS4.3.3.
    This is not just a negligible bug.  This is something that rattles my confidence in iOS...
    The common problem seems to be when people are adding new contacts directly into the Contacts app and hitting "done".  The system then takes them all the way out to the home page.
    Someone suggested performing a reboot (Home+Sleep until the apple disappears) but this did not work for me. I haven't tried doing a "Search iPad" for specific contacts - as janisfromsteilacoom describes.  I will try that if it does happen again.
    Finally, when I connected with iTunes, the system clearly saw that all my contacts were missing too - and restored up to my last backup - so this is not just a GUI issue.
    Apple better get on the stick with this one fast, because storing, adding and recalling Contacts is one of the fundamental functions that this elaborate gadget needs to do reliably - period. 
    Syncing via MobileMe or the new iCloud would be a flimsy engineering solution to an already crappy problem.  Although the iCloud and the like with Dropbox are convenient tools for a lot of things - you loose control over your data if your ever hacked.  I've come to the conclusion that Security in today's day and age is an illusion.  And the only tools that we truly have are only enough to keep and honest man - honest.  Those with the fortittude to succeed will succeed at anything they set out to do. 
    My 2 cell phone contracts are up in a couple of months and I will reconsider my plans to switch over to the iphone from the blackberry - if I don't have confidence in iOS by then.  Haven't heard of Android having this type of problem yet...
    In the mean time - until apple makes this one a priority - the only solution that I can think of, is to avoid entering and editing Contact information directly on the ipad and use it purely as a look-up device...

    Hi, Was curious being that I am moving to an area that does not offer Verizon Internet , I can only keep my mobile phone with verizon, will Verizon cancel my ISP email address ? The rep. that took my cancellation of service order had no clue & a supervisor couldn't answer the question, even after I offered to pay a fee to keep it to avoid the invonvenience of having to re register  over 30 companies that I have my verizon email registered with.     Since installing Lion, I have been loosing my connection to airport Extreme after I have put my IMac in sleep mode.  My Ipad is also loosing the connection.  This issue started since the installation of Lion, is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

    I've had that problem on my macbook running 10.5.8 for a few years. Sometimes it's worse than others. No other computer in my house has this problem.
