Try a reboot:
To reboot your iPad, hold down the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears. If, during this process, a slider appears on the screen to power it off, ignore it and keep holding the buttons down.
Rebooting your iPad can solve a lot of problems. Once you do that, go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and make sure the correct, new password is entered in that account.

    Yeah - you may have well bricked it. About the only course of action I can recommend is to restore as a new device via itunes on a computer (but that may not work).

  • Hello. I have some .mov files that I am able to open with Quick time on my pc but not on my mac. I even tried downloading quick time 7 but still no progress. Is there anything else I can do?

    Mavericks changed how media was handled on OS X. Apple moved away from the old Quicktime frameworks (that were started in the 80's IIRC). Now the OS uses AVFramework. It is why Quicktime X (QTX) & Quicktime 7 (QT7) can play different formats.
    QT7 used a series of codec plugins (encoder/ decoder) to add support for formats that Apple never supported (like DIVX, WMV, Ogg audio etc). Many users installed plugins like Perian to add these codecs via a simple installer. Perian may still work on QT7 apps, I haven't tested Perian on 10.10. Perian is clearly out of date & abandoned now, see perian.org or see the site of the old codec.
    AVFoundation & QTX has no ability to add extra codecs - you get support because the format is correct for AVFoundation to play, you get a dialog that converts the movie or the third option is that AVFoundation can't convert & simply chokes & doesn't allow playback.
    Apple have nothing to fix. The reason the movies don't play is because the new framework uses 64bit for everything. The older codecs are not 64bit & since Apple didn't write those codecs they won't fix them either. It may seem like I'm apologising for Apple, but it isn't entirely their fault, things move on.
    I'm afraid you need to work out what codecs you have contained in the files (.mov is just a wrapper around the data - the codec is the key to reading the data). mediainfo can help with that

    It will list the details of the codecs - from there you need to find an app that will convert to a supported format.
    It sounds like you have a sound format that is not compatible with AVFoundation - that means all apps the rely on AVfoundataion no longer play those files (Finder & iMovie use AVFoundataion).

  • PDF trying to print to A3 and can not be changed

    We have installed a new printer HP Business InkJet 2800 using a PCL 5c driver. We have Adobe Acrobat 8 STD installed on a Windows XP SP2 workstation.
    The issue I have is that when I open a PDF document and then try to print, even tho all the settings are for A4 but when you hit print it is outputting to the printer that it needs to be A3.
    I assumed that this was a printer driver issue and therefore have changed this on several occasions and then back to the PCL 5c.
    I have opened the PDF document using Adobe Reader and then go to print and the document prints just fine.
    Please can someone inform me whether there is a setting within Adobe Acrobat 8 where the output to a printer is set to A3 when it should be auto or A4???

    It is not clear if the file print from AR and AA were on the same machine or different machines. Generally these settings are set by the printer itself. I see no options that would change the size other than what is part of the printer properties or possibly the document properties. For instance, if you open say a photo in Acrobat (4" X 6" or so) and then select to print to the Adobe PDF printer, you will see the picture in the center of your default page size ad defined in the printer properties. In my case, that is letter paper.
    Thus, I would look at the printer properties as defined in the START>Printers and right click on the inkjet to get the properties. I really think it is in your printer settings, not Acrobat. Acrobat, will adjust the PDF scaling as you set to fit the paper. You can shrink, expand, or leave alone. However, the paper size is set in the printer properties.

    Try downloading something in the iTunes app on the iPad and see if that gets you out of the password loop that you are stuck in.

Recently, my Mac Mail keeps requesting the passwords on my accounts every few minutes, and will not allow me to send messages using Mac Mail (the message says that the outgoing server was rejected. I cannot edit the outgoing server, and the keychain will not save my passwords (the ports are valid). How can I change the outgoing server to send emails, and how can I avoid having Mail request my passwords every 2 minutes? Verizon, as usual, will not provide support to iMacs.

    Is there an email saved in your drafts or outbox folder?  I suspect that Mail is continually trying to send it, and each time Google is rejecting the email message.
    You can open the message and then delete it from your Outbox folder.  Then try removing all @gmail email addresses from it and seeing whether you can send to the other folks.  I suspect that will work.
    With email, if an SMTP server *can* verify email addresses, sometimes it will and it will refuse to send messages.  If a message has to be relayed across servers, no verification is done, and you'll get a bounce if an email address is bad.

    13. When email arrive, verify your account

    There seems to be a few bugs with iCloud Mail at times, so send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

    When you say it "can not scan any wifi network" do you mean it is not detecting Wi-Fi networks?
    Is Wi-Fi turned on in Settings > General > Wi-Fi?
    Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
    Is it just the home network that the device will not connect to? or any network?

    You don't have to be "in" Safari for it to cancel logout.
    You have several different Applications open, and any one of them may cancel logout if conditions are just right.
    Quit the Applications you are no longer using and your Mac will run better and faster. And it will logout instead of cancelling.

    My iPad 1 requested activation after being low on power. Activation does not work so I have tried to restore it from iTunes.  this progresses but after rebooting, it gets to the activation process for a few minutes and re-boots again - in a loop now. on ios6, not 7. help please?
    I also looked at trying to do a manual install of firmware via iTunes but I do not know the version of firmware or how to find it out - so really stuck!

    I pulled my unit out of the dock - powered up and the display goes blank (if you look carefully you can see the bios boot screen, then black, then you can see the backlight turn off.
    I plugged in the USB monitor and boom - I could log in.
    Once Logged in I could see that windows still thinks it has some of the monitors from the dock, and the internal display is set to disable.
    So the issue is the detection / setup of monitors in/out of the dock.
    I've done about all I can do for dubugging, I hope lenovo can pick up from here. if not I'll have to call lenovo support.

    You can not merge accounts.
    Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.
