IPad keyboard behaving erratically.

I am using a new 10w USB charger for my iPad and when I try to use the touch keyboard it starts behaving erratically. I touch a letter and other letters appear and when I touch the delete button more letters appear? When i unplug it the keyboard is fine, is this a problem with the charger?

I would try another charger now. Borrow one if you can or take your iPad and your charger to an Apple Store.
If the iPad keyboard behaves erratically with another charger, it could be an issue with the iPad. If you switch chargers and the problem goes away, then I would assume that the charger is the culprit.
Does this make sense to you?
You can also try this and  see if it makes any difference. Do this while the iPad is not plugged in and charging. Reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Keyboard behaving erratically

    Hi,
Since I bought my iMac around 3 months ago the keyboard has occasionally behaved as if some of its keys were being pressed when they aren't. Sometimes the caps lock will turn on and the computer will make the "Funk" sound (the system error sound) repeatedly. Often, pressing a button on the keyboard will temporarily fix the problem, although it usually comes back moments later.
A few moments ago I heard it start making this sound from across the room, while the screensaver was on. When I checked it was flicking between asking for my password (to exit the screensaver) and telling me the password was wrong.
As far as I know my house is not haunted. Has anyone experienced this? Better still, has anyone managed to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Sam

Haven't tried another keyboard, the only other computer I have is a laptop with built-in keyboard.
It's definitely not due to spillage as no liquids have been near it, and it has been doing the same thing since a week or so after I bought it (new). I don't know if this helps, but none of the keys appear depressed (i.e. sitting lower than the others). I originally thought it was a Firefox bug, as it only happened when I had Firefox running, but noticed it was doing the same thing when I was using Safari instead.
    Thanks for the suggestions though.

  • Write Danish on english ipad keyboard

    Hi guys
I'm thinking about buying an ipad and a clamcase. Right now I can't get the case with a Danish layout (scandinavian).
    This is the case
    http://clamcase.com/
Is it possible to make shortcut keys on a ipad keyboard (US layout) like on a MacBook Pro. My sister and her american bought macbook air, presses the Alt key and A, and she gets Å.
I think that's hos it works, I can't really remember, but I hope you get the point.
I need to write a lot in both in Danish and English for work, so the case is pretty useless if I can't make character shortcuts.
But I love the design of that case.
    Thanks

Any standard external bluetooth keyboard will work just like your sister's MacBook Pro and make accented characters via the option/alt shortcuts.  This is determined by the software inside the iPad.
Spellcheck would be more complicated, however, as that is determined by the iPad's keyboard.  So you can type the Danish characters, but spellcheck will be for English, so you would want to turn it off probably.  If you switch to the Danish internal keyboard to get the right spellcheck, I think your hardware keyboard may behave like a Danish layout (with results different than what is printed on the keys).

  • My remote iPad keyboard stopped working

My remote iPad  keyboard stopped working

    Any update?
Apple Support always say reboot your computer, unplug the keyboard, the keys are broken, ... But I bought 2 of these keyboards and they have the same frustrating problem. When you unplug them and plug them back they STOP working sometimes for long time or sometimes you have to hit the keys for a while to get the keyboard back.
Since about a year I just let my mb air powered on with my keyboard because I need my keyboard to work. (and it's hugely frustrating to start your day trying to get your keyboard working)
I just bough a mb pro late 2013 and the keyboard do not work at all.
    All the best,

  • BUG - client-side iPad keyboard in MRD 8.1.5 is mis-mapped for remote VMware Player console on Windows 8.1 Pro

Client system: iPad 4 running iOS 8.1.1
    Client language/locale: US English
    Client app: MRD 8.1.5
Server system: 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro
    Server language/locale: US English
Problem: client-side keyboard in MRD 8.1.5 does not work properly within VMware Player 6 console only
When interacting with VMs through the VMware Player 6 console app on the remote Windows 8.1 host, the client-side iPad keyboard for MRD 8.1.5 is not properly mapped. Letter keys and the top-row number keys send function keys or non-standard key scan codes
that aren't used by traditional PC keyboards. The spacebar sends the D key, and some keys send nothing at all. Many other keys work properly, including the client-side numeric keypad, and uppercase letters sent by using the Shift key (but not the iPad up-arrow
shift key). The only way to send the proper keystrokes to VMware Player from MRD 8.1.5 is to not use the client-side iPad keyboard and instead switch to the on-screen keyboard provided by the remote Windows server.
This problem only occurs within the VMware Player console app, and only with RDP connections that use the MRD 8.1.5 client on iOS. I do not encounter the problem with other iOS RD clients such as iFreeRDP by Thinstuff or Pocket Cloud Remote Desktop by Wyse.
    Steps to reproduce:
Connect to Windows 8.1 Pro system from the MRD 8.1.5 client for iOS 8.1.1
Using the client-side iPad keyboard within MRD 8.1.5, bring up the Run dialog by typing Windows-R
Launch Notepad by typing notepad.exe in the Run dialog and pressing Enter on the client-side iPad keyboard
Type some sample text in Notepad until you're confident that the client-side iPad keyboard is functioning properly
Launch VMware Player 6 and start up a VM (mine was Windows Server 2008)
Open the sign-on prompt in the VM by sending Ctrl-Alt-Ins from the client-side keyboard or by pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Del icon in VMware Player
Touch or click in the password field in the VM to ensure it has keyboard focus
Using the client-side keyboard, try to type letters or numbers in the password field, and notice that dots generally do not appear for most keypresses
Switch to the server-side on-screen keyboard and delete the contents of the password field if it is not already empty
Use the server-side on-screen keyboard to sign on to the VM
Inside the VM, open Notepad or some other text editor
Enter text into the editor from both the client-side and server-side keyboards to verify that only the server-side keyboard is functioning properly within the VM
This issue is the only problem I'm having with MRD for iOS, and I hope it is resolved soon.
    Thanks,
    Fred

  • Lightning to 30-pin Adapter works great with iPad Keyboard Dock

In case anyone was wondering, the Lightnng to 30-pin Adapter works great with the original iPad Keyboard Dock and an iPhone 5. In fact it is better than the 4S was, as that tended to pop out. The Lightning adapter stays in place, and there is plenty of support in the back plastic to keep the iPhone in place, with any tiny stress happening at the Dock connector end: the Lightning connector itself seems very solid indeed. All the keys work, and charging is fine.
(In answer to the implicit question: my employer blocks email at work on its systems, and it's convenient to have the keyboard hold the phone in place, and also charge it, which is the problem with the Bluetooth keyboard.)

Might be a question better asked of the manufacturer of the iHome device.

I just figured out the print quality issue for my wife with her new iMac and new printer.
She replaced both at once and she couldn't understand why her Artisan 730 was lower quality then her Epson R280 when they had the same specs.
Turns out the newer printer had the option to connect via wifi which we used during setup.
The driver options are completely different depending on how you connect.
Once I connected via USB the correct options were available and the print quality was better.
Looking at the R2400 it dies not have wifi, but while researching the problem for my wife someone esle was having an issue updating to the latest printer driver.
If you go into the print utility from the Printer and Scanner system preference and under the general tab you should have driver 5.5.
One user had to delete the old printer driver before Software Update loaded the newer printer driver.

On my MacBook Pro (w Snow Leopard) I always had to reconnect my wifi at home when it woke up. I upgraded my router from an old Netgear to a newer N D-Link and stopped having to do that.
I would be surprised you would have that problem with an Airport Extreme, you might check to see if there is a firmware update for it.

  • Ipad Keyboard (one with docking station attached to keyboard)

I had just recently purchased the Ipad keyboard, the one with the docking station attached to the keyboard. The problem is I use it in my car a lot and find it difficult to use. Is there anything 3rd party that will allow me to connect a cable to the ipad and then one to the keyboard so that I can type without the Ipad being in the docking station. It would be so much easier to use. Additionally I have to remove my Ipad from it's case to use it as well and risk damaging it when it's not in a case. Any feedback and assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time everyone.

Yes there is. Check it out here.

  • Macbook Pro (mid 2012) inbuilt Track pad behaving erratically after fresh install of Yosemite 10.10.2

I recently did a fresh install of the OS from online recovery. Mountain Lion was installed which I immediately upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.2. The trackpad started behaving erratically after two days. I seems that it started since I plugged one of my wifi router on the lan port. The trackpad is impossible to move as it seems to have a mind of its own. An external mouse connected works fine. Any help please !

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

  • Scrubby sliders in the Lens Blur Filter in PS CC 2014 behaving erratically.

The scrubby sliders in the Lens Blur Filter in PS CC 2014 are behaving erratically. In PS CC no problems. I may be mistaken, but I think I read somewhere that this filter only works on 8bit images.
In PS CC it works on 16bit, and in PS CC 2014 (no third-party plugins) nothing works. Could this have something to do with the Graphic Card, or Cache Levels? All advice appreciated.

Sorry, no solution to the problem, but a confirmation. I do have the same problem (Intuos Pro and Pen & Touch) showing the problem with ACR 8.5 and Photoshop (2014, CC and 6, these were updated with ACR 8.5) . No such problem before ACR 8.5 and no problem with LR 5.5 (also containing ACR 8.5).
I hope there will be a solution from Adobe soon, since sems to be caused by the ACR update.
Windows 8.1 in my case and latest Wacom Intuos driver installed.
