    Everything that you sync to the iPad is done through iTunes or from downloading from the cloud if they are iTunes purchases or through iTunes Match, if subscribed.
    It is also not possible to transfer music or certain other files though Bluetooth between other iPhones or Android devices. You can transfer between iOS devices, pictures through devices that are Airdrop capable.

    Normal secured WiFi requires only a password to get access. The password is used to encrypt traffic between your device and the WiFi access point. If whatever you are using requires a username as well then it is not simply normal secured WiFi.   • Ipad keyboard does not pop up

    Since upgrading to the lastest iOS on my first generation iPad, the keyboard does not pop open when I need to type. The only way I can recover it is to turn off the iPad and turn it back on. This is getting annoying as it is happening constantly.
    Anyone have any ideas of the cause or solutions?

    I thought it was in the accessibility section, but now that I think of it the last time I saw it was when I was pairing the Apple Wireless Keyboard, so it's probably automatic via Bluetooth. If the OP turns off Bluetooth the internal keyboard should start working again for reasons mentioned in your initial post. A lot of people have been locked out of the iPad because they'd use a Bluetooth keyboard and forget to turn it off, and then later they'd go to use the iPad but the iPad thinks you still want to use the Bluetooth keyboard instead of the internal one....  so the internal one never pops up.

    When you plug in earphones, or anything in the audio output port, it should be reflected in SYSTEM PREFERENCES>SOUND.  If not, try a PRAM reset.

  • Ipad keyboard does not enter letters

    Hi,
    After two years of using my iPad I get a strange behavior. When I try to enter my password, the keys do react but no letters appear and I cannot enter my iPad anymore.
    I do a reset and it will work properly again for a couple of times but then suddenly again, after prompting my letters, they do not appear anymore and I need to reset again.
    Anyone an idea?
    The screen reacts normal and I do see the relevant buttons react while touching them, but no letters are entered. So hardware seems ok. I'm also on the latest iOS....

    This might the next thing to try.
    You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. It does take some time to re-enter all of the device settings again and some will be re-entered as you go along. It will not all happen at once.
    You will not lose app data at all when you reset settings.
    If that doesn't work, I guess the next step would be to restore the iPad iOS software.

    No. Safari does not have the option to attach files for uploading other than photos.
    Look at iCab Mobile in the App Store. There are other browsers that may do this, but I'm pretty sure that iCab will fill the need.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

    Judging by the reviews of the current version of the Kindle app you aren't the only one haveing problems with it - it looks like Amazon need to fix something with the app.
    Have you tried closing the Kindle app via the iPad's multitasking bar and seeing if it works when you re-open it ? Double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Kindle app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
    You could also try deleting the app and redownloading it via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it (you will then need to redownload your books in the app, assuming that it opens).
