IPad Keyboard in the Enterprise

All,
I have a user that likes to use his bluetooth keyboard with his iPad, but needs a "Page Up" or "Page Down" feature. I reviewed and suggested the information on this page: http://www.apple.com/support/pages/shortcuts/
I suggested the use of Option-Up Arrow and Option-Down Arrow as a substitute, but I am unable to locate the "Option Key", nor can I locate any other substitute. Would someone be able to shed some light on this for me?

If your keyboard is already paired with another device that is in range then you must unpair it first (see page of the keyboard manual).

I need to reprogram the delete and enter key to the left side of a external keyboard for the ipad mini. don't need the caps/lock or ctrl key and due to an injury my daughter can only use her left hand to type. She is using a text to speech app to verbaliz

I need to reprogram the delete and enter key to the left side of a external keyboard for the ipad mini. I don't need the caps/lock or ctrl key. Due to a brain injury my daughter can only use her left hand to type. She also uses a text to speech app to verbalize all of her needs since her speech isn't intelligible any longer either. And her vision was significantly affected also, so the keyboard has to be mounted about 6 inches from her face. So to reach across the keyboard with her left hand to the right side delete and enter button is physically difficult and causes typing errors, which cause people to not understand what shes trying to say.
The best keyboard so far is the Zagg folio mini. I just had to make stickers to enlarge the letters on the key buttons.
Does anyone know how I can reprogram these two keys? Or where I can buy a wireless mini keyboard for Ipad made for lefthanders with these two functions on the left side. I have searched for days and days. It's sooooo important to me that she be able to contribute her voice again. Imagine if you got in a car accident and couldn't speak clearly any longer, but understood everything still. Thanks for any help and suggestions you all take the time to share with me. I really appreciate the kindness of strangers to help me help my daughter.

Getting closer to being able to use iPad in the Enterprise. Two challenges so far; sorting functions in Numbers Application not existent? Work around? and the second issue, tracking changes in a word document or Pages document when using Pages on iPad?
Can't analyze data without sorting feature. Can't review legal or contracts without seeing who changed what? Any workarounds besides use my Mac Air?

IPad on the Enterprise network

Hello All -
I am looking to get some more information on the iPad in the enterprise. We are currently using Cisco wireless running a corporate SSID using WPA+WPA2 with AES and 802.1X.
Is anyone running iPad's in the 802.1X enterprise? We use a Device CA for all of our devices, is it possible to use this on the iPad or do you have to use client CA?
I am using the iPad configuration utility to try and configure my test iPad, but it doesn't seem to work like I need it to. I get to a certain point and it wants username and password. I do not want a user to have to login, so this would lead me to believe client CA needs to be used and not Device CA.
Can anyone help me out?

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

Weather iPad is owned by the user or the company, it will require proper softwarelicense right to access Microsoft Software in use by your organization. Beloware different usage scenarios and required licenses:

-       exchangeEmail”: each iPad will require a Windows Server Device CAL, Exchange DeviceCAL, Exchange Enterprise Device CAL*, and Forefront for Exchange CAL*
-       Intranetrunning IIS only: each iPad will require a Windows Server Device CAL
-       Portalrunning SharePoint: each iPad will require a Windows Server Device CAL, SQLDevice CAL, SharePoint Standard Device CAL, SharePoint Enterprise Device CAL,and Forefront for SharePoint CAL*
-       InternalBusiness Applications: Windows Server Device CAL, SQL Device CAL, any other CALused by this application
-       MicrosoftOffice: each iPad will require and Office license except for 1-1 remote access

-       Acquiringthe Enterprise CAL only & SQL CAL for those devices under the EA. We willneed to approve an exception to do that. Please advise me the quantity. Thisscenario will apply only if Office will not be used with the iPad or will beused in 1-1 Remote Access scenario.

You can also turn OFF Split Keyboard
Settings>General>Keyboard>Split Keyboard>OFF

How compatible is the iPad's keyboard with the iPad2?

Most of the reviews for the keyboard have been great - but I've noticed there's been one review that says that the keyboard could possibly damage the iPad2. Has anyone tried using the keyboard and if so - have you noticed any damage to it?

Which keyboard do you mean?
- The Bluetooth keyboard is just working with iPad 1 and iPad 2 without any problems. Just bluetooth, there could be no differences.
- The original iPad Keyboard Dock from Apple is only working with the iPad 1. The iPad 2 is much smaller and not fitting into the dock correctly.

Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. This should improve the typing responsiveness

I find it's touchy. Tap anywhere on the note to bring up the keyboard. If you tap and hold, you won't bring up the keyboard. Just tap momentarily.
If you can't get it to work, try restarting your iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If it still doesn't work, try resetting your iPad. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Thanks so very much!! You ROCK! I took your second suggestion and went into the iPad settings menu and then into the app. From there I was able to mute the sound effects I wanted. Really appreciate your help.

Some people have reported success using a wired keyboard with the Camera Connection Kit. Never tried it myself, though.

Hold down on the Keyboard key, (bottom right of the keyboard) and drag it down, or press and hold on the keyboard key and tap on the "Dock.and Merge" option from the menu that comes up.
