Ipad locked, didn't enter wrong passcode
This morning, my wife woke up for work and her iPad Air said that her device was locked for an hour, as if she'd entered the wrong passcode multiple times. Prior to her waking up by opening her smart cover, nobody in the house was awake for at least six hour. Now, I imagine we can wait this out. But this is her primary work device, and I need to know why it might do this, because time she can't be working is money wasted. We can't have this happen again.
Try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost.

How to enable iPad with right passcode after entering wrong passcode 6 times
Hi, my iPad is disabled because my daughter entered wrong passcode more than 6 times. I do remember the passcode myself.
How can I enable the iPad without wiping everything? I do not see an option to enter passcode anywhere. I never backed up my iPad. When I connect the iPad to iTunes, it keeps on giving the message that respond on iPad. But the iPad only shows that iPad is disabled.
Find my iPad is also not enabled.
I recently upgraded the OS to iOS 8.
Thank you for your help in advance.FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE

3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug

Device disabled after entering wrong passcode
Device disabled after entering wrong passcode
Dear Sir,
When I update iOS set up a passcode to secure the use of my iPhone, and then enter the wrong passcode, now I see a message saying my device is "disabled".Please help me, what to do I have forgotten and can't remember my passcode, and my device displays a message saying it is iphone is disabled. I have apple ID and password.
Md Rafiqul Islam
NZThere is no "recovery". If you can't remember your passcode, you'll have to force the phone into recovery mode, as described here, & restore it:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
This will remove the passcode. -
Ipad has lock after code enter wrong
my younger brother entered the passcode incorrectly too many times and now when i try to go on to my i pad it says i pad disabled connect to i tunes
when i connect to i tunes it tells me to enter passcode on i pad first . i have tryed remotly restarting i pad with find my i pad but it needs to be connected to the internet anyone have any cluesIf the passcode lock has been entered more than 10 times, you will need to connect the iPad to iTunes and restore in order to gain access again.
If the backup was made with the passcode lock in place, it will restore the passcode as well, so as long as you know the right code you should be able to get back in.

IPad lock up. Asks for passcode.
Had the same problem when updating to 7. Finally got lucky. When it asked for your passcode it is your Apple ID password by default for some reason. No Problems now!
Mike,
did have passcode prior to update, but disabled it. after update only numeric keyboard appears and asks for passcode,
When i entered old passcode, tells me phone is disabled for 1 hr, try again!!

I got locked out from my iPad mini during my initial setup. Keep ask me for passcode but I haven't setup one. Reboot and restart didn't solve the problem, tried connect to iTunes but it won't let me because it requires the passcode. Tried my Exchanged password, Apple ID password and my iPhone passcode but none work. Any idea to resolve this?
