IPad mail account

I am using gmail for 3 email accounts.  I would like to delete all the mail at once on the mail program that comes with the iPad. I never use it but it has thousands of emails in it.  I think the recent iOS update made them appear.
When I made the account inactive my Game Center wouldn't work anymore. I made the other two accounts inactive and it seems fine but one is, obviously, connected to my Game Center account.
1) can I delete them all at once and how?

I do access my gmail through safari.  The issue is the mail accounts that come with the ipad.  I had set them up when I first got the ipad, then moved to gmail.  I just left the ipad mailbox on there and never check it.  This was fine until the ios update when it seems to have checked it by itself.  I need to delete them all and want to do it all at once because there are sooooo many.

  • Can you change the default font in an iPad mail account?

I suspect you can't, but just checking: can you change the default font in an iPad mail account?

There is no way to change the default font in the mail app. You can make the type larger by using the accessibility feature of larger text. Settings>General>Accessibility>Larger Text. There is an app that allows you to add fonts to the iPad, but I do not think this works with the built in iOS apps such as mail.
    You can check it out.

  • If the MS Exchange ActiveSync port had been changed, how to set up the iPad Mail account?

    Hi all,
The default MS Exchange ActiveSync port is 443 but due to security reason it had been changed.
Under this situation how to set up the iPad Mail account?
I could not find out the port modification area in iPad account settings.
Or any other apps are suitable for multiple accounts within 1 domain?
That means i can use this app for more than 1 email accounts within 1 exchange server.
I had tried eMailGanizer. It could allow you to modify the port number but if you need to send email you still need to set up the account in Apple mail first.
I tried Outlook Mail but could not allow multiple accounts within 1 domain.
I tried Mail Access 2010 but it could not display the emails in the server.
    Please help!
    Thanks a lot!

using Outlook.com I just deleted an email
by clicking the Trash icon that appears
when hovering near an email subject
            in the list of emails.
Then I clicked the Send/Receive button
      in Apple Mail.
The email disappeared from the Inbox listing
      in Apple Mail.
The email is listed in the Deleted Folder
      within Apple Mail.
The email also appears in Outlook.com
      within the Deleted Folder
I'm not seeing an equivalent operation in Outlook.com
to perform the Erase Deleted items
        such as Apple Mail provides..
There was momentarily a "Sweep to Delete"
animation that appeared and is now gone..
Pomme is correct.. by selecting "Erase Deleted Items"
within Apple Mail does not clear the Deleted Folder
when the email was first deleted using Outlook.com
Now I'm seeing further synch problems in that deleting in Outlook.com
The emails disappear from Apple Mail Inbox,
but do not appear within the Apple Mail Deleted Folder..
(as it did with the first message I deleted using Outlook.com)
Yes.. there is some synchronizing problems..
I just exited Apple Mail, and restarted it, synched
and now all messages deleted from Outlook.com
appear within Apple Mail Deleted Folder..
For Outlook.com the equivalent operation to Erase Deleted Items
Is to click the Trash icon next to the emails
        within the Deleted Folder..
Moral of the story is for Apple Mail
      periodically select Erase Deleted Items
      and for Outlook.com
periodically look in the Deleted Folder
and delete those emails (that you already deleted)
            a second time..

iPad mail account says problem with 'ssl settings' - can you help me?

The 4Gs hardware, only 256 MB of RAM, prohibits updating beyond 6.1.6.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

  • One of my iPad Mail accounts doesn't work

I recently changed the password on one of my Apple accounts, and update the settings for my iMac, MacBook Pro, and iPod Touch - with no incident.
However, my iPad Mini's Mail account is acting up for some reason. I can access email from two other iPad Mini accounts - but for some reason, the accout I'd changed the password on isn't accessing email. I changed the passwords manually; no effect. I deleted the account, and manually entered the new settings; no effect. I know the settings are correct, because they work on my other devices; it's just when I'm using the one changed account on my iPad Mini.
    Is there something I'm missing?

Hmmm...I think I may have figured this out. I'd unintentionally set my desktop Mail folder to make Spam/Trash on the desktop rather than Trash. The iPad Mini was so overloaded with Trash mail that it sent an error message; only by putting the Spam in the Trash that the iPad Mini's Mail delivery returned to normal.
I'm responding to my own question because apparently nobody else has successfully answered this question yet.

  • IPad Mail account thousands of emails on server

I added a Mail account to my iPad Air. This account on my iMac currently has about 25 emails in the inbox. But on the iPad, it added all emails on the server, more than 2,000. It made me purge about 1,400 of these old emails on the server webmail. But how can I have just the same emails in the inbox as on the iMac? I don't see anything in the Mail, Contacts, Calendars setting in the account's Advanced settings that would enable what I want.
What is especially perplexing is I have two other Mail accounts on the iPad and they DO mirror the Mail accts. on the iMac with about 20 messages in the inboxes and DON'T download all the other mail in these accts. that are on the server.

Having an e-mail sit in the trash can is not what I call a safe place to keep it ... :-) ... I would have absolutely no expectation of finding that e-mail there at some time in the future.
We can look at this from another perspective. At some future date ... you post something like, "My e-mails have disappeared and I don't know why!!" Then someone asks you where those e-mails were at, and you tell them 'in the Trash Can!' WELL ... after you say that, you have to wait a while before getting a response from them, because they fell out of the chair from laughing so hard! ... :-) ... no, "storing e-mails" in the TRASH CAN is not a viable option.

  • Cannot set up iPad mail account

I have just bought an iPad. Setting up the internet connection was fine, but I am having trouble with mail. I want to set up my Tiscali e-mail account so I am using "other" e-mail set up.
I have put all the data in to the required fields, but when I go to save the set up I am given a message "unable to verify SSL". I have tried to save the account not using SSL but I get a similar message.
I would be very grateful if someone could please help me out.

Check your outgoing port number (for SMTP); many ISPs won't allow sending over port 25 via a 'foreign' network

  • IPad Mail Account Settings

Under Settings and the Mail account settings, there are two separate settings for my  Gmail account. Which should I delete?
I would like to attach a screen shot I took, but I don't see where I can add an attachment to this post.

    Thanks for the reply.
A camera icon on the toolbar? I don't know what toolbar, and I do not see a camera icon.
This ID mess started because I was seeing Apple messages that all IDs had to be email addresses, so I created a second ID. The problem is that some apps and purchases were under one ID, and some under the other ID. now, I never know which ID to log on with, and it takes at least a couple of attempts to log in, where Apple accepts the ID and password.
Also, I have iTunes Match under one of the IDs.

  • Ipad mail issues....

    Hi all,
I have been using my ipad Mail account for two different hotmail accounts and an academic one too. Only issue is I can't seem to be able to create sub folders on my ipad.
Does anyone know how you can do this? Doing it on my academic account (ie it's a .ac.uk account) is most important for me. Though looking at the uni's email client on my imac, it doesn't allow you to create sun folders on there either....
    any help would be great!!

At the moment you can't do it directly in the Mail app. If they're IMAP type accounts then you should be able to login to your accounts on a browser and create them there, and they should then appear in the Mail app. If they're POP type accounts (which it sounds like they might be if you can't create them) then unfortunately you're stuck with what you've got.

Even add and delete mailbox folders on the fly

  • Signatures in iPad Mail

I know I can have multiple iPad mail accounts but I can't figure out how to have multiple signatures in Mail (i.e., one for each account). Is this possible? Thanks.

I can't believe that I have to install a $5 app to enable multiple signatures from my iPad2, and then be forced to use that app for all email and copy/paste on replies.  Sounds pretty ridiculous.
I have multiple email accounts - business, youth football league, personal.  I sign differently, and with different contact information, depending on which account I'm replying from - or generating a new email from.
Thankfully, I am able to set a signature for each email account on my Palm Pre - WebOS.  This seems pretty basic to me.
@Allan Sampson - I completely disagree.  The purpose of a signature is NOT to identify that you sent the message from a mobile device, but to give information on how to contact you, or about your company, etc.  It's marketing, and making someone feel inferior that they don't have a gadget that I do.  Plus, I don't want someone to know if I'm sending an email from a mobile device.

  • "Replace  information on iPad" Mail accts next sync?

When I first set up my partner's iPad2, I used her mail acct info within my Mac login acct. In order to now get it to sync with the same Mail acct but from her Mac area, we need to do MacItunes>iPad>Info:Advanced:"Replace information on this iPad √Mail Accounts" ("iTunes will replace the selected information from this computer").
Now this could mean just the acct settings or all the mails too (ie. trash the ones on the iPad). I suspect the latter (and therefore will need to send all crucial mails across before I re-sync); can anyone confirm this?
She also has a GMail acct which only sits on the iPad. I guess this needs setting up within her Mac area too? Advice on the best order of these steps?
PS.(afterthought) I gather only IMAP (not POP) accts allow one to have folders in iPad Mail; does every ISP other mail in both or do I need to check with ours before we attempt this? Any threads to point me too.
    Thx

    Hi there Greg,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you want to always replace content on your iPhone 5S with content from Outlook on your PC, to do this you’ll just have to Reset the Sync History in iTunes as shown below.
Troubleshooting Sync Services on Windows with Microsoft Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010 - Apple Support
    To reset sync history:
    Open iTunes.
From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
    Click the Devices tab.
Click the Reset Sync History button.
If the issue continues and you know all of the data is on the computer:
Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" select Contacts or Calendars.
    Click Apply.
    Cheers,
    -Jason

  • Mail account frozen

Two days ago my ipad mail account froze solid. It's set up to receive yahoo mail.  The home screen shows new mail coming in but it's sporatic and I can't scroll, access or delete anything.  I can't even access my yahoo mail account on my ipad by going through yahoo on the internet.  The screen remains black when I go to mail.   I've checked the account settings and am at a loss as to what the problem is.  Yahoo mail is working fine on my desk PC and itouch...all in the same room.
    Thanks for any ideas

Quit the mail app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • My wife and I each have an Ipad and only one mail account. Both of us receive the same e-mails but when one of us deleates an e-mail it also deleates on the other Ipad. How can I stop this? I might delete an e-mail she wants to read. Thanks

My wife and I each have an Ipad and use only one mail account. Both Ipads therefore get the same mail and when either one of us deleates an email it also deleates on the other Ipad and this can be a problem if one of us doesn't want that e-mail deleted. Obviously our Ipads are synced and I don't know how to correct this. Any advice ?

If you both have the same email account, there's no setting on iPad you can use.  When a message is deleted, it's deleted from the mail account server, which will happen on both devices.

    HI,
The Apple IDs from @mac.com and @me.com (Older MobileMe and more recent iCloud Names) are also Valid AIM Screen names.
Any other sort of Apple ID is not a Valid AIM Name.
A Google ID that is associated with Google Mail Account (And has "Talk" enable on your Google Settings) can be used in iChat as  Jabber Name/ID.  (Google Run  Jabber server).
Jabber and AIM are different IM Services and it is not easy or straight forward to add Buddies from one Service to the Buddy List of another.  (As A Starting point consider it "impossible")
iChat 4 and 5 have links to the registration page of @Mac.com here with a "Get an iChat Account" button in the add (Account) screen  (You select @mac.com or MobileMe and then press the Button - Choosing AIM and then pressing the button used to lead to the AIM registration page but AIM moved their page).
Apple IDs can be any valid email (or an @mac.com or iCloud registration)
Therefore you could make a Google ID into an Apple ID.
However this will not be a valid AIM Screen Name the way @mac.com or MobileMe/iCloud ones are.

  • When I click on the mail icon on my iPad 2 the mail accounts do not show up.

    iPad 2 32GB Version 8.1.1
When I click on the Mail icon, the mail accounts do not appear. The screen is blank except in the he upper right corner of the screen I can see mini icons: flag, folder, file box, arrow, and pad/pencil mini icon.
I've been having a number of issues with Facebook ever since I upgraded to Version 8, so I don't know if this is a version issue or something else.
    I've tried rebooting/restarting, etc. Nada.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks.

Close all apps and then reset the iPad. If that does work, reset all settings.
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again.
FWIW, I don't use Facebook at all, the app or in a browser, but I have read more that a few posts here where people that use the app all the time claim that is very buggy and causes all sorts of problems for them. Maybe closing the app along with the reset will help.
