Ipad mail hangs with large attachment

I've been really enjoying my iPad for the week that I have it now. Only trouble is that I have had to restart it four times so far, each time due to a large mail attachment that the mail app isn't willing to show. I don't know if there is any answer to this or if Apple will just have to fix this ?

Mine hangs when I check my email and somebody had the audacity to send a large email, like 5MB, sheesh people. I tried to clear it and it crashed. My iPad locked up tight. I tried to delete the email at first, then after a couple of minutes of the delete button froze highlighted I then did a power down from the Sleep/Wake button and then it locked up for about an hour (black screen and a spining wheel in the middle). Then I did a long (15 second) hold of the sleep wake button and it came back. Very scary!

Someone is probably sending spam with your address forged on the To: line. Could be one of your old contacts with a Windows machine has a virus that's doing it. It's also possible your e-mail account has been hacked, though I'd think such a hacker would be a bit more purposeful.

Imap don't see mails with large attachment

Hello,
my email is set to imap so I get the emails on my iphone and on my mac and all should be synchron but there is following problem:
Emails with large attachment are not shown on my imac. I got the Email on my iphone. The mail is on the server when I look over web, but the mail is not on the mailprogram shown on the imac. On the parallel outlook it is shown. So I think there is somewhere a setting where large attachment will not be downloaded but then the header should be shown but it isn't.
What could be the reason for the missing download of large attachment in a email in a imap account on mail in mavericks

Perhaps to be on the safe side, run a GWCheck against your user account.
Use either the standalone version of GWCheck or run the same check from ConsoleOne with following options (described here for a standalone version):
1. Database type -> Post Office
2. Database Path -> use a browse button to navigate in a location where is a wphost.db, the Post Office database
3. Post Office Name -> fill in a Post Office name.
4. Object type -> select User/Resource and type either a MailboxID or directly a user database file name.
5. Action -> leave default Analyze/Fix Databases.
6. Activate (only) Contents and Fix problems check boxes.

9. Run.

I Want to Send a Text File From the File System As An Attachment to the Mail.
Can We Do this With out Doing JAVA Or XSLT Mappings in this ???

I am not sure how complex is your file sturcture and the mapping. But we can also achieve without java or xslt mapping also. Please check these weblogs:

Is anyone else having a problem sending a mail message with PDF attached? I receive the following message:
Sending the message content to the server failed.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.
Is there a fix for this?

Anyone? I was hoping my problem would just 'fix itself'... but I still have some clients telling me they're not receiving any email from me. I've since deleted that account on my computers and re-added it. But still having the same issue.

Mail crashes when trying to open mail with large attachment

It used to work fine (years), but for past 6 months, if I try to open an email (with the blue ball to the left) that has a large attachment (any sort), it crashes, no error message. On restarting, mail that had been deleted is back, and the most recent sent message shows up on top as if it hasn't been sent. A lot of emails in my numerous in boxes, but have deleted a lot, to no avail. PS- If I am trying to clean up and delete stuff I know is small, if I quit mail, it is deleted - it doesn't reappear as it does if I accidentally click on a message (with the blue ball to the left) that is BIG. Thanks... in hopeful anticipation of aid.

Is ironport blocking emails with large attachements?

I have recently adjusted my exchange server to accept attachments as large as 25mb but still when I tried to send an email with an attachment of 15mb it still bounce back as 552 552 #5.3.4 message size exceeds limit (state 18).
I was wondering if need to adjust anything on my Ironport to make sure it allows those large emails. If so, I hope somebody could help out on how to do this adjustment.

I sort out the issue..
In microsoft exchange everything is configured well, to send and receive upto 25 MB. Usermail box permission also set for sending 25 MB attachment. Evenif I can receive 15 MB attachment, it resulting in error while sending.
This was the error:-
mail.wrd.ae #550 5.3.4 SMTPSEND.OverAdvertisedSize; message size exceeds fixed maximum size ##
This message is generated by HUB-CASH server
No clue that email is screening by ironport.
Solution:-
Increase the message size limit in ironport
Mail Policies-> Mail Flow Polices -> Relay -> Max Message Size ->25 M
This relay is used for outgoing emails. (Note that the title for that page is confusing: Mail Flow Policy: RELAY - IncomingMail)

Can't receive email with large attachment. why?

A friend sends an email to me with a large attachment. It is rejected and he gets the following response.

The message is small, but the attachment is large. Is something wrong or am I really limited to receiving relatively tiny attachments?
My Yahoo email account receives the same email with no problem at all. Can someone tell me what's up?

First of all, I wouldn't consider 20 MB to be "relatively tiny," but I suppose that's open to interpretation.

Mail 7.1 large attachment icon in classic layout attachment column

I was running on Mountain Lion till 2 days ago. Over the weekend, I decided to upgrade to Mavericks, which went really smooth. However, after upgrading to Mavericks, when I open Mail.app, I am seeing large attachment icon in the attachment column. My Mail.app is configured for classic layout. When I change to modern view, I don't see any problem, but I don't like working on modern view.
I have taken some snapshots and posted below. As you can see, the attachment icon size actually varies from folder to folder, which is even more odd.
Anyone seeing the similar issue? Any idea how can I fix it?

in summary, here is how to fix it:
Go to Mail --> Preferences --> Fonts & Colors --> Message list font and changed it to any other font, and back to what you'd want it to be. Now notice your paperclip icon is back to normal.

My iPad comes up with big writing ,and the only way I can get the writing small again is to reboot my iPad it used to reboot fast but it is know taking along time,and I am worried one day it's not going reboot for me,please help.

Display problems in Mail messages with image attachment

Issue: Seeing intermittent display problems in Mail messages with image attachments
Annoyance level: minor, but Apple techs need to pass it along
Details: Regardless of mail client sending to iPhone (Outlook, OWA, Yahoo, Gmail) there are intermittent and what appear to be random occurrances of the pic being half rendered and/or the pic never loading (followed by message saying it can't be retrieved from server). In some instances the picture then appears fully rendered without a problem. Note: Image sizes varied from 14KB to 450KB

I'm not familiar with C#, but if possible try the following:
1. Removing all thead and tbody tags from the body of the message.
2. Changing all inline CSS to embedded CSS.
I've seen a user said the message stopped showing up after making the changes.
If the issue persists, please note, since Outlook 2007, Outlook opens the HTML Email and converts it to Microsoft Word format before displaying it to the user. What happens during this process is that many CSS attributes and HTML support is completely removed.
Some of the most notable absences are background-image, and padding and margin support. Hardly can we do much about this, so the message "If there are problems with how this email is displayed, click here to view it in a web browser" is actually
a good workaround when we face this problem.

IPad mail opens with blank white screen and then closes since returning from overseas. Worked fine up until then.

Since returning from overseas my iPad mail does not work. Selecting mail opens a blank white screen which stays open for a short time then closes. No functionality is available during this time. Doing the normal reboots etc does not resolve the problem.

Have you tried to go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and removing then re-adding the account info?

Mail crashes and cannot delete outgoing message with large attachment

Tried to send an email with too large an attachment. Now it is stuck in Outgoing Mail. I cannot delete it. It just causes the spinning ball and then eventually mail crashes. I need a way to delete the outgoing message. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try this:
1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/.
3. Locate Outbox.mbox and move it to the Trash.
4. Open Mail. A new (empty) Outbox.mbox will be created automatically.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

Mail shuts down when sending e-mail with large attachment

I am trying to send an e-mail with a zipped folder (468 MB) - but once I click send, the e-mail does not appear anywhere (ie.sent folders or outbox). Then, two minutes later, mail shuts down unexpectedly and a message asks me whether I'd like to 'reopen' or 'try again'.
I don't know whether this happens often or not, but I'd appreciate any help because I really need to send this e-mail some time today.

That happens to me all the tiem. I don't try anymore because I guess Mail just doesn't take large files like that. You should try sending it from your email provider on it's website, as you would without Mail or Outlook Express.

Could n't download Mail with large attachment ( 15MB)

We have an Archive Agent application which downloads mails from GroupWise server 6.5. We are using Javamail API for downloading messages and using IMAP. Everything works excellent except when it finds mail with attachment more than 15MB. It stops there at message.writeTo(OutPutFile) where I am trying to write into an eml file.
And also it creates eml file of 0kb with no sender, no subject, no receiver information.
Please any one can help me how to solve this issue.

I've seen several IMAP bugs in GroupWise - make sure you have all
the latest patches.
Try setting the mail.imap.partialfetch property to "false".
If none of that helps, please send the protocol trace to [email protected]
and we'll help you figure out what's wrong.
