Ipad messenger bags with built in stand

Guys,
Im looking for an ipad bag that could not only carry my keyb and some other small items, but also doubke up as a viewing stand when needed.
So conceivably, i would use it to take my ipad around with me and atthe same time , i could en it up , make it into a viewing stand and use my ipad wherever i want.
Any ideas or sugeestions except (ur nuts ! ). :)

Are there any simple recording interfaces for iPad like iRig that have a built in speaker? I hate using headphones and I want something simple, not a professional setup (like an track dock where I have to connect powered speakers,etc)-I can do that on my iMac. Something that is portable that is simple to plug a guitar into.

Can u use a USB webcam on an iMac with built-in isight for Yahoo Messenge?

Hi...I hope someone can shed some light on this.
I have an intel core duo iMac 20 with built-in isight.
I use Yahoo Messenger (the new version) and have no problems getting my isight to work with it.
For most circumstances, the built-in isight is fine... but sometimes having a camera with a zoom feature and the ability to pan further up or down would be most beneficial.
I also own a usb Logitech (pro-4000) webcam (the last series for which they have Mac support) and have installed the latest Mac drivers for it. I can get the Logitec to run its built-in applications, but when I try to select a webcam to use for Yahoo (in the yahoo preferences webcam section), the only selection available to me is the built-in isight.
Is there any way to get the option to choose between the Logitech and the isight?
I tried macam drivers, but that just gave me an application that allowed me to record video or snap pics from my Quickcam, Yahoo Messenger still does not recognize it as a source.

Laptop substitute? - iPad with keyboard and stand

I don't want to spend the money on a laptop and I don't like laptop keyboards.
I want to do my Spanish homework reclined on the sofa or propped up with a pillow in bed.
I like a full sized keyboard, preferably a Spanish/international one or as long as the iPad has this as an option internally, I know the keys by heart that are different. I want to be able to type easily in Spanish
I want to be able to access the internet and use Skype.
I did an internet search and I saw keyboards with stands for iPads. Unfortunately, the international keyboard for iPad did not have a slot to prop the iPad up. Maybe I can find one or just change the keys on an English keyboard.
I need it to run Pages or some compatible document program. I have pages 09 for my mac mini. It is on a disk. Is there a way to get that into an iPad and would it work with the iPad operating system.
If this idea works, would it also work on iPad mini? I don't know if the screen is too small to be practical. Currently I look at a page document on my computer screen that is 9 inches wide.
Plus all of this would be lighter than a laptop. My husband has one and I don't really like the keyboard or the weight.
This would make it easy to do homework when I didn't want to sit up at my computer.
I am thankful for any tips you can give me.

You can use an iPad as a laptop, but you need to go into it with your eyes open and be willing to find and use the workarounds that many laptop users take for granted (lack of non-internet file transfer, ease of printing, compatibility of programs to name a few)
Functionality for the dollar, a small laptop will get you more bang for your buck. There are a lot of 10-12 inch laptops or tablet/laptop convertibles that can have the connections to make things easier while still having the portability of an ipad. (often also with much more storae)
That said if you prefer the apple environment with a keyboard case the willingness to use the workarounds, you can get by with an iPad.

USB Webcam on Macbook with built-in Isight?

Has anyone been able to use an external webcam via USB on a Macbook with built-in iSight?

I have an older logitech 3000 and have been able to get it to work with 3rd party software such as macam and btvpro, but can't use it for Yahoo Messenger or similar programs. It won't work with photobooth either.

looks very good indeed, and this is what i want. The question is has anyone has any experience with this Screen protector before?

Just keep the screen clean by blowing or brushing off dust and debris before and after use and when stored and you should be fine. The Apple case is a nice case but it does not keep debris and dust away from the glass since it simply sits on top of the screen with no seal. In addition to the Apple case get one of those very inexpensive foam zipper bags which will not only keep dust and debris away but will protect it from drops and bumps while traveling and storing.
Do not use microfiber cloths. A fluffy 100%cotton piece of towel is what you should use to gently wet clean and dry it with. Do not reuse your cleaning cloths. Wash before using them again. I keep a small ziploc bag with a few cut pieces of towel inside in my iPad zipper case.
I used to be seriously into photography and had many expensive lenses with much more delicate glass than the iPad's and these are the things I did and never once did i scratch a lens. The iPad has such a gorgeous screen that is a shame when it is covered. I have had mine since they came out and my glass looks brand new. The cause of scratches is not through typical use but because a harder than glass piece of debris gets in between the glass and whatever else is pressing against that debris, usually not your finger. Just keep it clean before and after use and keep it in a sealed case in addition to your Apple case and the chances of scratching the screen will be almost zero.
The ipads on display in stores are very rarely scratched even after thousands of people touching and using them every day. That shows how tough the display actually is.

There is a difference technically between this iStorage unit and the Cal Digit stuff. Cal Digit includes a hardware raid controller, and removable drives. The iStorage Pro unit relies on your computer's CPU to control the raid... so will tax things like render times... plus just to play a software raid can take as much as 30% of your CPU's cycles to do it...
That said, it may not matter if you're working in lower resolution files, or lower data rate stuff, either company makes great gear though. Both are intended for use with video systems. But ya do get something for the extra money on the CalDigit gear.
But if all you want to use it for is backup of data... anybody's drives would do this... doesn't have to be a raid either. Single FW drives will certainly hold the data as backup even if they won't play it without dropping frames.

Messenger bag advice

Ok, I have a 12 inch power book. i would like to find a great messenger bag/laptop bag. I'm looking for something that looks cool, and trendy. I have looked at the swiss cases, and the ogio caes (which also look really nice). But I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions for a nice case/messenger bag. I want to have some great padding/protection for my powerbook, also I would also like to be able to transport my sprial notebooks, some papers, etc, maybe my ipod. What do you guys suggest. I think the ones I have seen say something like "supports up to a 17 inch laptop" which makes the space inside a bit big and my 12 inch slids around. It would be nice if the ogio cases made something just for the 12 inch, but they dont'. Anyways please give me lots of advice. Some brands, good websites to buy from, etc. Thanks so much!

Timbuk2 has a nice Laptop Grip sleve thats just the right size for the laptop alone with that tiny pocket which can be used for a ipod. (but is meant for change and little things like headphones). Its great because its very well padded and can be thrown into a regular backpack. I've had mine for over a year without any problems. I have a MBA 11" and a MBA 13", and use that one for my 13" Air, and the smaller version for my 11".
I have spent at least $600 chasing down the perfect bag(s). There isn't one, AFAIK. The Incase bags are my favorite.
I do prefer the older version of that bag though (a single velcro flap for the double compartment side). The new version holds a tad less. (I gave my new version to my MIL), and use the older one I have.

I'm trying to figure out how to change the Apple ID our iPad is associated with. My husband bought the iPad and set up a new Apple ID instead of using mine. Now we cannot use iCloud to sync all of our devices. Any help out there?

4. Click on 'Sign Out
5. Click on 'Sign In'
6. Click on 'Use Existing Apple ID'
7. Type in your Apple ID

Remote App on iPad not working with ATV

The remote app on my iPad (1st gen) was working fine with ATV last week. I noticed when using ATV there was a message about updating the ATV to a new version. I skipped the update each time as I just wanted to watch the program. However, we recently had a power outage which caused the ATV to shut down and I'm assuming launched the update as I didn't see the update message last night. However, I'm not able to use my iPad remote app with ATV any longer. When the remote app launches it indicates that it connected and it sees both ATV's. Yet, there is no ability to control the ATV. My iPhone 4S does not have this problem; It still works perfectly. I also have an iPad 2 and 3 and will check that shortly. Does anyone know for sure if the recent updates caused iOS 5.0 users to loose functionality?

Hi Lisa,
I know from experience that this must be a frustrating situation for you especially if you don't want to loose the music/video content that is currently on your ipod. Unfortunately though you may have to consider re-syncing it as it thinks its currently synced with another computer.
If you bought any music that is on the ipod through itunes you can opt to right click the ipod in itunes and 'transfer purchases' if you authorise your library in the 'Store' menu in itunes. Some reasons for this happening may include some of the following:
Deleting and reinstalling your itunes on the computer.
Removing the account you had on the computer you used itunes in and making a new one. (User account, eg: Lisa).
Changing computers in the past.
A friend or family member syncing it on their computer to give you there music.
A sign of a failing iPod.
Alternatively you can opt to not sync it and keep the music that is on your ipod there but this means you will never be able to update your ipod.

Reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
