IPad Mini: battery capacity inconsistent

I notice that even if only down to 90% battery capacity, if I leave my iPad Mini (64g Verizon) plugged into my computer overnight, it will only charge up to about 98% or 99%. Also, the iPad itself my display 98% but when synced with iTunes, iTunes may show it at 99%. I've numerous iPads over the past couple of years and this is the first time I've seen this inconsistent behavior. I'm running 6.0.2 and I've done a complete device reset several times.
Am I missing something?

By the way, the mini is only a week old and has been exhibiting this behavior since day 1.

My iPad mini battery seems to be draining 1 percent every five To ten minutes. I have only had it off the charger for about two hours after full charge, an its already close to fifty percent left.

What kind of ipad mini / ipad 2 you got?
AFAIK,
1. ipads drain battery with 3g/4g on (regardless on wifi or not) 1% overnight.. so for 7 days .. 65 is about correct.
2. Are your ipads setup to receive remote push notification? (more push = more battery drain.. as the screen lit up)
3. With iOS 6 vs iOS 4 .. there are more stuff running in the background and more toggles.. that could also contribute to battery drain.

Ipad mini battery problems

hello i have a ipad mini and recently i have been having some problems with it for around one week, i normally leave it charging through the night and when i wake up my ipad says that my battery is at 100% when i take it of the charger it says 99%. so i restart it and the ipad says that the battery is back to 100% (this happens every single morrning)
now this morrning i woke up and my battery was 100% so i took it of the charger and said it was on 99% i went to have a shower and when i came back the ipad was displaying that i had 88% so i restarted it and it said that i had 88% not 100% even though it had no use while i was in the shower.
so how can a battery drop that much in 30 mins

How do I know if an iPad mini needs a Battery Servicing? Is there an existing app for this? I read that an iPad's battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles. How do I check this? How do I know the charge cycles done on an iPad? You will know if it needs replacing if it drains quicker than usual. After 1000 charges the battery capacity will be reduced which means only 80% of power in the battery. But don't worry about the battery at this time. After the 1000 charges it can last another 1000 and after 5 years you may just want to just leave it plugged in. Anyway I'm sure you will be interesting in an upgrade instead of sticking to your current iPad?
Heres an eg:
IF you charge your iPad EVERYDAY - 1000 charges, Charge each day for 1 year is 365 days (365 charges)
1000 devided by 365 is around 3 years!
THe battery dosent completely die after 1000 charges, it will just reduce its capacity
and last another 3 years but by then you'll wound of probably upgraded!
Ycan out can also follow some of these battery saving tips so you may not need to charge it everyday
1. Lower the brightness or turn auto brightness
2. Turn on reduce motion in settings, general, accessibilit, reduce motion: this will eliminate the paralex of the apps and the animation of the apps opening and closing, turning it on will make the apps "Fade"
3. turn off location services, or turn off apps that use it and system services in settings, privacy, location services
4. Turn background app refresh off settings, general, background app refresh to off
5. Limit Or turn apps off in notifications settings, notifications
. Turn off push mail in settings, mail, contacts, calendars, push, push off and set to manual
turn Bluetooth off

I updated my iPad mini to iOs 6.0.2 a couple of weeks back and I am suffering from battery drain issues.
Although apple mentioned there, it is supposed to fix wifi issues, I never had any issue with wifi.
But a black line was appearing when playing youtube videos in safari or chrome, which is fixed in this update.
But my battery life of the iPad mini is considerably decreased.
Is apple going to provide another update, which ll fix the battery drain issue?

Retina iPad mini battery problems

I have a 64GB Wifi/4G retina ipad mini. Mobile data is turned off.
I have also turned off all push and background refresh.
ATM my battery is on 50% with 2 hours 25 min usage. That time is made up of Netflix, Facebook, email and safari. I have had most iPads and never felt the battery had a problem.
My partner has the air, which has stats 3x better than mine.
Any idea what might be the matter? Faulty iPad? Bad backup?

Yeah, my brightness is always ~50.
I think the reporting is faulty. Last night I charged to 100%. I wanted a 23 minute episode on Netflix and the usage report said 16 minutes standy and 16 minutes usage?!?!?
So I then watched another episode which then had the usage recorded ok.
I ran it up to 2 hours 20 usage and had 75% battery left. Then I put netflix on and left it running episodes for a few hours, battery was 61% and usage was 2 hours 28!
I have known usage to go up when not in use but never the reverse and I have no idea what might be wrong?

A few others have reported this same problem. Just unplug the charger and then replug. It should resume charging to 100%.

Downgrading isn't supported.
You can poke around in the settings. There's a lot of stuff defaulted to on that you may not need, such as notifications.
You can also look into background app refresh and background app updates. They can be running in the background and drain your battery.
