IPad mini calendar alert sounds

My calendar alert sounds have stopped working! I have checked volume and settings. The sounds work when I test them in settings, but when the event pops up on the screen to remind me, there is no sound! Help! I have 8 people in my home to coordinate and I am missing appointments due to no sound! Crazy! I know! But I got the iPad mini to help me remember all my 'stuff'! I have tried the side button. On. Off. Reset to screen orientation. I have read all the postings. I wonder if its the calendar I bought? It is 'Task and Cal'? Not sure what is going wrong.

Hi wanda254,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You may want to first check the sound settings on your iPad using the information found here:
iOS: Understanding sounds, ringtones, and alerts
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5800
If your alert settings are correct but you still do not hear alert sounds, try these troubleshooting steps next:
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, followthese troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, please contact Apple Support.

  • Ipad change calendar alert sound

Is there a way, or 3rd party product, to change the alert sound in the calendar on the iPad? Apple has become way too popular at work, just about everyone has an iPad or an iPhone synced with their outlook calendars. The problem is that when the alert goes off I have no idea if it is mine or someone elses, as they all sound the same.

Settings>Sounds>Calendar Alerts. There are a bunch of sounds from which you can choose.

  • IPad Mini - Calendar Notes

Why notes, inside an event on iPad Mini Calendar App, can only be seen on dayview meanwhile in other are shown as edit mode? Is this a bug? Nothing to do with iPhone or Macbook.
I've found that when I try to check my notes inside an event on Calendar, and I click "more", an edit window appears, instead of a windows with only my information about notes.
This not happens on iPhone or my Macbook.
I think this is a bug that should be fixed in the next update.
    Any comment will be welcome.
    Thank you,
    Jose

Restart your iPad by holding the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time until the Apple Logo appears.

  • Ipad mini message alerts and banners not working.

My ipad mini isn't making message sounds when I receive iMessages or showing banner alerts even tough it's all set up and turned on to do so.

Took a trip to the Genius Bar and about 2 minutes to correct: The Dynex HDMI Cable from Best Buy didn't work. The Apple one works fine.
Now I find my Movie Download from Comcast On Demand won't play thru the adapter. The Movie plays fine on the Mini, but I get a screen warning it's being blocked by Apples' Relationship with Starz. Funny, Comcast says it works fine. Another example of Apple forcing me to use the I-Tunes store on their products if I want to see it on their Hardware? If I pay for the rights thru Comcast, and they don't limit my Hardware, is it right for a Computer Maker too?  After the E-Books price fixing probe...are these kinds of issues next?

  • My new iPad mini has lost sound

I purchased an iPad mini a few weeks ago and the sound was working no problem. All of a sudden it has stopped in apps and music. Checked mute and done a reset but neither have worked?

    Hello Rach42,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with sound on your iPad.  I recommend the following steps for an issue like this (the steps refer to an iPhone but are also applicable to the iPad).  You can skip the steps you have already taken:

  • Why my iPad mini 2 no sound after updated to iOS8

Why my iPad mini with retina display no sound after updated to iOS8

I solved for my ipad mini retina:
    - Go to Settings->General
    - Change the function of the slider on the side of the ipad from 'rotation lock' to 'sound off'
    - Wiggle the slider up and down
    - Sound is restored
    - You can set the slider back to rotation lock again

  • My IPad mini is experiencing sound distortion

My IPad mini is currently experiencing some sound distortion, how can I resolve this problem

Have you tried rebooting the iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Can i change calendar alert sounds?

I have an iPhone 3G. I want to use it as a PDA and need a reasonably loud and long alert sound for some events. Is there a way of changing the alert sound in calendar events from the default short beeps?

I can't believe you expect people to look up what sound the alert makes before they buy the phone? Really are you a moron? I too am upset with this, I use my state of the art phone that can pretty much do anything for the basic feature of a scheduler and miss everything I put in the **** calender because the alert reminder is so **** quite and only beeps once. Back when I had a 2G jailbroken iphone it was great because I used a hacked program to make a nice loud alarm that repeated up to 3 times in 5min intervals. Much like Palm has been doing for, oh I don't know 10 years! Apple should concentrate less on the marketing side of things with this phone and work more on the functional, it was better when it was jailbroken because you didn't have to wait a lifetime for apple to get around to making the things that people actually need instead of the extra fluff they could live without, at least when it was jailbroken other people fixed all the mistakes that apple left behind.
I didn't mean to get off on a tangent but it bothers me that a company trying to create such a good product would overlook all the basic necessities to a multimedia device. While I'm at it copy/paste anyone? or heaven forbid AD2P! I mean they did strive to create the best portable multimedia device on the planet you'd think they'd put such a useful feature that even the Motorola razer has!
Enough bells and whistles guys, next update lets work on something we can actually use for more than a day.

  • IPad Air Mail alert sound

    Hi,
I have an iPad Air with the most current OS 8.2. My selected mail alert sound does not work.  All I get is a basic ring tone. I can select another one but the selected sound isn't played when new mail arrives. The iPad Air is less than a year old and the sounds works fine with the os installed at purchase, I think it was 7.1.2.
Thank you for any insight and help with this.
    Artie

    Hi Arthur,
If you are having issues with your being unable to use any other alert sound for your incoming mail, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPad -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPad as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • IPad mini calendar

I have an Apple iPad mini and would like to know if it is possible to save previous events on the calendar.  I like the organization on the calendar but when going Back to check an event or activity the months beyond 3 the pervious months are deleted except for repeat entries.

    Yes...this worked...
Do you know if 2014 will stay in memory or does the year delete in 2015
    Thanks

  • My iPad Mini calendar isn't syncing with the calendar data on my Air or iPhone

My calendar on my iPhone and Air are syncing, but the data isn't being synced with my iPad. Anyone else having this issue?

    Hello,
Yes, I'm expericing the same issue since I got my iPad mini.
Before this, with my iPad, iPad 2 and iPad 3, I never had such a problem; I tried to deactivate and re-activate the calendar option, but it still does not work.
I will try to eliminate my iCloud account and set it all over again.
