IPad Mini Dead Pixel.

I just bought an iPad Mini this evening and I have a dead pixel in the center of the screen and its super annoying. Is anybody familiar with how Apple handles these things over the phone? I had a similar issue with an iPhone a while back and they wanted to charge my credit card the full amount for the new unit on a temporary basis until they received the defective one back. Does anybody know if thats what they do for the iPads? I really don't want to have to drive back down to the cities to get a replacement unit especially when they are in such short supply.

My iPad Mini arrived this morning with a dead pixel. I am going through the exchange process now. Hopefully the next one I recieve will not have this problem. Is this a popular issue?

  • I got a damaged iphone today :( after apple sent me an ipad with dead pixel

    Great,
first apple sent me an ipad with dead pixel and misbehaving display and now they are sending me this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/schipplock/4880028188/sizes/l/in/photostream/
    Would you send it back?
Dear god, give me any reason why I ever should consider buying apple hardware again if quality management is so bad...I mean I spotted it in two or perhaps three seconds after unboxing it.
What makes me angry now is that this microsim card now doesn't fit into my old phone so when Apple wants to send me another iphone it takes ages (again!)...and I'm without a phone...great :!
    Apple oh Apple :/.

I don't know if you can do it at an Apple store. But AT&T will let you order the iPhone 4 and still keep what you have until the new phone arrives.

  • Never opened iPad with dead pixels

I got a iPad 3 the day it came out from best buy. I wasn't unboxed for about a month after being purchased and when I turned it on, there were more than 3 dead pixels. Also one of the led backlights are blue when they should be white.  Is this a manufacturing issue?  Can I go to the genius bar and get a free replacement even though I never bought a warranty and purchased it outside of Canada? Please reply. I need help.

Is this a manufacturing issue? Maybe. Can I go to the genius bar
    Yes.
    and get a free replacement
If it is determined to be a warranty issue, yes.

  • IPad 2 Dead Pixel, Can I claim warranty?

Hey, I`m Kee here. Currently I`m holding an AUS iPad 2 32GB WIFI White.
This iPad 2 is a gift from my friend. I`m staying in Malaysia, I would like to ask
how do I proceed the International Warranty Claim Service in my country(MY) since it`s an AUS`s unit.
Please guide me out. I`m facing an annoying dot which is dead-pixel on my iPad 2`s screen.
My country only have Authorized Reseller, no Retailer Store here. I`m sure, if I walk-in into an Authorized Reseller
they will not entertain me, and if go to worst, definitely will treat me as an idiot and deliver wrong information for me.
Please HELP me out! Appreiciate your reply and million thanks.

    Hey,
Normally say with a laptop 1 dead pixel is not enough, a cluster of them is needed for replacement.
    The iPad may be different.
Apple.com/my as you properly know is apples malasya website you can call the number there or go into an auterised reseller and ask, I think they'll be happy to help.

  • Ipad 1 dead pixels

i've notice about a year ago that my ipad 1st gen had a dead pixel at the top of the screen, i've read on the internet that apple will replace my ipad only if i have 3 dead pixels, today i've noticed another 2 dead pixels which can be spotted when the ipad is hold orizontally and you try to see the screen.
    i've got 2 questions:
1.they will replace my ipad with a 2nd gen ipad?
2.is it worthing to change it, or the dead pixels isn't such a big problem.
    Thanks for your time.

  • IPad 2 - Dead Pixels

I just sent my original iPad 2 in because it had a bunch or dead pixels in the screen. My replacement iPad just got here and there are still more dead pixels in the screen. What do I do?

If you have dead or stuck pixels on an iPad 2, you need to make an appointment with the Genius Bar at your local Apple store.  If found to be defective, Apple will likely replace the unit.  Make sure you back it up before you go to Apple.

Try charging with another cable and wall adaptor for at least 20 minutes. Also try a restore in recovery mode:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device
If issue remains take the iPad into an Apple Store if nearby for evaluation and if need be service.

  • I have a dead pixel on my ipad mini...   What do I do?  Only had it for almost 2 months.

Got my ipad mini on 2/24/2013 everything's great till I saw a dead pixel on the screen.  Is there any solution for me?  Apple should cover it as warranty right?

  • I have one dead pixel on my iPad Mini, besides sending it back is there anything I could do?

On my iPad Mini screen, since I have bought it, there has been one small black dot in the middle of the screen (I'm presuming a dead pixel because its absolutely always there). And I'm not too bothered about it but if there was something I could do without having to send it back that would be great!
    Thanks
