IPad mini device music menu missing info

The music menu does not show playlist/genre menu which I can sync from but only says
Itunes match on and some sync voice meny option.
Where do I select which playlist are onto ipad mini ?

You are asking about two very different things here:
1. Registering your device. You did this, and that is good. That is how your device is tracked for warranty, etc.
2. Associating your device. This is what you are referring to when you say " ... it hasn't shown up on my account as a managed device." "Managed devices" are iTunes related. They are not related to warranty issues.
Here is how to associate your device to your Apple ID. Once you do that, your device will appear as "Managed."

Videos are played in the video app.
Music is played in the music app, only the audio will play from a music video in the music app.

Are you using the same apple ID and password?
it seems all is in order, but perhaps the password isn't valid.
if the reset didn't work, try signing out of iTunes and App Store, then back in.
have you tried going to App Store - purchased and tapping on the cloud icon for the apps you want? You will still be asked for your password.

Itunes will not recognise ipad mini device

I Have installed the latest update for Itunes 11.1.3.8 on windows XP. i connect my new ipad and nothing happens. I have the lastest IOS on my new ipad. I deauthorised all devices as i had 5 thinking this was the problm. I cannot find how to authorise an ipad if it doesn't appear in itunes on the computer.
I cannot load all my movies onto my ipad and thats why i brought it in the first place. i am in strife here. Can anyone help me?

I have been able to get my device recognised on another computer. Interesting. I had to do a complete reinstall of iTunes I.e. Uninstall it then then reinstall it, I may have to try it again on the other computer so I reduce my authorised devices. I have screen lock on and this must be unlocked before I sync it with the computer. Now my problem will be this device authorisation of 5 devices. I have 2mini iPads that I want for different purposes. I have 2 ipads of different sizes I have 2 computers now each one recognises my minis I have a 4gb iPod nano to play music, and an 8gb iPod touch. I will have to think how I am going to use them.
2 computers, nano, iPod touch, 16gb iPad, 32gb iPad, 64gb iPad mini x 2. That's 8 devices. Of. Course my wife and I share them. We read the books and watch the movies we don't want too have to pay twice to buy the same book or movie, but I think we will need 2 accounts. I hope home sharing will work because that the only solution I can think of.

Ipad Mini and Personal Hotspot Missing

Dear all....
I know there have been many many discussions re this in the past but I can't seem to find a solution anywhere. I have also spoken to EE (my 4G Carrier) and Apple but with no luck....
I have recently got a new iPad Mini 64Gb Wireless/Cellular device and no matter what I do I can't get the 'Personal Hotspot' to appear on the main setting menu. I have tried the following:-
Restored the iPad - about 10 times!
Spoken to EE - they say it is an Apple issue
Spoken to Apple - they say it is a Carrier issue
Cleared all Network settings - again about 15 times
Messed around with LTE settings.... and most other setting too...
Had the Carrier delete my account (settings) and reset
Had the carrier change my tariff and reset my iPad to recieve them
If this helps I also have no "Network" under "Settings>General" like i use to on my iPad 1
All I do have is "Settings>Mobile Data" and "Settings>Carrier" but neither have any Personal Hotspot setting below them.....
Finally I have confirmed with my carrier that my account is enabled for teathering / hotspot use and "it should work"
PLEASE HELP!!

Just signed up to a data tariff with T-Mobile, pretty much EE!! Was told that I needed to plug the ipad mini into itunes for it to update carrier settings. So far nothing.
Grrrr. The option was there eariler today when I had another carrier's SIM in the device.

ICloud email same on 2 different iPad mini devices

I was setting up 2 different iPad minis at the same time with 2 different iCloud emails. The problem is that both the devices now have my daughter's iCloud email as the default mail. How do I get my son's iPad mini to have his iCloud email as default?
In Settings, then iCloud, then Account at the top; when I click on Account, the screen shows ICLOUD ACCOUNT INFORMATION, with Apple ID, Password:
then under ADVANCED, the mail address is my daughters' and it is GREY, so it can't be changed.
Does the device have to be restored, and start from scratch?

How to change view options whilst in device music menu?

Don't seem to have the option to change the view of the library (4 buttons to left of search window, top right of page) when using the library on the device but i can whilst using the library on pc.
Only song list icon in use (library shows list of artists to left of library), would be useful to be able to change, any ideas??
Help appreciated.

You cannot edit view options for the menu/layout on the iPod itself.

If you are having issues with your iPhone's music starting to play when the Video application is running, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

IPad mini Music crashes

New iPad Mini. Music app crashes 100% of time. Anyone else?

This error: I have just bought an iPad mini and to transfer my contacts, music etc via iTunes on my PC, the PC crashes should not occur.
The best guess is this crash is caused due to an issue with the PC.
Make sure your iPad is updated to the latest operating system: iOS 7.0.4 and make sure iTunes is updated to iTunes 11.
iTunes 11 is optimised for iOS 7, so if you have an iOS 7 device and non iTunes 11 computer, life would be hard.
Try to update iTunes to 11.1.3 from: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Even try uninstalling iTunes and then re-installing. iTunes will not lose any of your iTunes songs when your un-install it as iTunes stores every media item in a folder found in (or around): C:\Users\NAME\Music\iTunes
Obviously iTunes and iDevices work best using Mac iTunes however; iTunes 11 and iOS 7 iPad Mini should work fine.
In summary possible solutions:
1.       Update iPad Mini to iOS 7 or better (iOS 7.0.4)
2.       Update iTunes to iTunes 11.1.3
3.       Restart both PC and iPad
4.       Uninstall iTunes from PC

You do realize that the message means that you need to download iTunes on the computer and not on the iPad - correct? I just want to make sure that you know that.

TS2972 Home Sharing will not work on my new iPad Mini

I have an iPad mini set up with home sharing on my iMac. When I try to search my home sharing library on the iPad mini, the music app immediately crashes. Also, it will not sort the music by artist or album, only by song or playlist. I have rebooted both of the devices multiple times and have verified that OS X, iTunes, and iOS are all up to date. Anyone else having this kind of problem with the new minis?

Figured out my problem sharing my music library on a new iPad Mini (I think). Two issues: (1) I have two Apple IDs, the result of doing one years ago and forgetting about it when I set up another; Apple doesn't seem to be able to ever merge or otherwise fix this problem, despite the best efforts of smart folks at the Genius Bar plus of course I'm forced to have 3rd ID as my iCloud username, but never mind....). I was logged in as one Apple ID and my music library is under the other. Went to "Music" under settings, signed out under "Home Sharing" on that page, signed in again as the other Apple ID. (2) Realized then that it was trying to share music from something called my iPad library instead of the library under my name, which is where my music is. When I fixed these two things, it all shared nicely. Whew!

Benchmark scores of the iPad Air & iPad Mini are odd.

Notice anything odd? I do. Why is that iPhone 5S is at the top of the benchmark score chart & iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina which both have the same hardware as the 5S (but more powerful) are nowhere to be seen next to it. In fact, The devices are actually on page 3 with lacklustre scores compared to the mobile phone ._.
The same can be said for any of the benchmarks too.. I've even done all of the benchmarks on my own iPad Air & it's very true, iPhone 5S (a mobile phone) is getting way better scores than the iPad tablets.
Can somebody please explain to me *** is going on with these scores? 'cause I'm confused. Upon doing research, I've found that the Apple A7 in the iPad Air & iPad Mini devices are essentially the same but more powerful than 5S cause of the slightly higher clock-speed & more spacious thermal headroom in the tablets.. So I fail to see why the 4S is getting vastly more impressive scores in any of the benchmarks.

True.. I do believe you have a point there, iPad Air & iPad Mini Retina both run all of these benchmark tests in Retina (2048x1536) resolution compared to all of the other mobile devices on the chart running them at far lower resolutions.. so of course the scores on the tablets aren't going to be as competitive.
Having said that, for reasons unknown.. Quite a few memory/performance issues currently plague the two iPad tablets on iOS 7.0.4 so I believe we'll see more truthful scores once iOS 7.1 releases which I've found (via watching YouTube vids of the new beta firmware in action) supposedly fixes the issues.
We'll see, I guess.
