IPad Mini dropped on floor.  Front screen cracked like spider webs lines.

I aproached Apple store who said don't do cracked screen @ Apple.  Asked me to try repair shop at any Digital Mall.  My question is : Is it worth the cost to repair a cracked screen which has sensitive touch pads inside the iPad Mini ?

It sounds like the drop damage more then just the lightning adapter.

  • TS3367 I own iPad mini and iPhone 4. I'd like to use FaceTime to talk to my partner whilst I'm in hospital. What's the best way of setting it up. Can I use my apple username for both devices?

So have iPad mini and iPhone. But I'd like to leave my iPad with my partner whilst I'm in hospital so we can FaceTime each other.

    king,
If your Powerbook's serial number (do not post it here) starts with "W8" then the vertical lines are mostly likely due to a defect in the display itself. W8 is a factory code and, during the iMac G5 and PowerBook G4 timespan, that factory shipped thousands of units with the same defect. It cannot be fixed via software.
As all PowerBooks are now classed as "obsolete," an Apple Store will not work on it. They will look at it ands tell you it has vertical lines and that they cannot fix it. This Apple article shows Apple devices they curently considered obsolete:
Vintage and obsolete products - Apple Support
It is possible that some Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASP) will still work on older computes but they cannot get neededparts from Apple. As this issue was so pervassive, it wil be hard for you or an AASP to find a used/pulled display that is not effected with the "W8 Curse."
Although I love the old PowerBooks, I would not even spent the money for disks, much less the US$150-400 it would cost to replace the display, even should one be available.
If you give us a rough idea of where you are in the world, we can suggest repair shops specializing in fixing older Mac notebooks, but be aware those resources may be rather scare outside North America.

  • IOS 8.1.2 Ipad mini 2 Laging and slower screen rotation

I have just updated my brand new iPad mini 2 with IOS 8.1.2 and the screen rotation became slower ,at the lock screen it became more  obvious it takes 1-5 seconds to rotate and the "slide to unlock" slider animation is freezing and lagging ,at the application screen takes 1-3 seconds ,the problem goes when I restart the device ,How Can I solve this problem .

    Hi there farahatology,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into general performance issues with your iPad mini. One thing you may want to try, to rule out software issues, is restoring your iPad to factory settings as shown in the article linked below.

A word of advice ... Don't make changes before a deadline.
You can still downgrade to 8.2.  Might be able to revert to previous version if the ideas below don't work.

  • IPad mini with retina display flickering screen

I just received my brand new iPad mini with retina display yesterday and today the screen started flickering and would not stop. I've powered it off and did a hard reset..the flickering will not go away. I even completely erased everything off the iPad and reset it using the settings menu. The flickering is still showing on the opening hello screen. Any ideas why this is happening?

I'm having a similar problem as "nickyizdal" and went through the same scenario, as far as erasing everything. Unfortunately, I have gotten this ipad mini a few months now...not sure if updating it to IOS 8.1.3 had anything to do with it, but this issue happened a few days after that update.
Any help would be appreciated. Thx.

  • IPad Mini update error 53 after screen replacement

    Hello,
I have a new iPad mini.  Not too long ago it was dropped and the digitizer scattered.  I sent it in for repairs but apparently it fell outside of the repair parameters, as it was a little too shattered?  hum hum.
So I went about replacing the digitizer myself, and doing so the Touch ID home button was rendered non functional.  I was just fine with this as I could use the iPad just fine without it, and I'm ok with a non functional home button.  Problem is when you go to update.  You can't update at all, and now it seems that because the home button is non functional, it bricked my fairly new $600 iPad mini by going through the update process (which itunes so gracefully asks you to do every time you plug it in now)
What options do I have here?  It really seems idiotic that because of a non functional Touch ID sensor home button that you cannot update the software.  This is a really poor design decision.

illigal? i downloaded from an authourized site www.imzdl.com & my method of installation is simple via itunes itself. i still dont understand how it worked evading authorization from apple. but it sure did.
& for your info i downgraded my ipad mini back to ios6.1.3 & now itz back to being perfect.. thx anywayz.

  • IPad Mini Drops LTE/3g signal

When I upgraded my iPad Mini to iOS 7.1.2, it crashed mid-update and stopped being able to connect to LTE or 3G data; only the 1x signal could be established (which is useless on an iPad). I tried resetting network services, and subscriber services. On the advice of Verizon tech support, I completely wiped and reloaded the operating system. No good. Vz connected me to Apple support, and they could not find out what was wrong either.
I recently updated to iOS 8.0, and I noticed some improvement. Now, if I toggle airplane mode, the iPad will connect to a 3g or LTE signal and I can use it for up to a few minutes before it again drops the connection.  WiFi works great. Location is not a factor, this happens the same no matter where I am.
I am at my wits end! Please help!!

  • IOS 8.0.2 iPad Mini Retina restarts with Blue Screen

Hi, although some of them have been facing this 'blue screen restart issue' on iOS 8. I never really faced the issue when using iOS 8 but ever since I upgraded to 8.0.2 I have this issue now. My iPad Mini with Retina is restarting often followed after a blue screen. The iPad is also vulnerable to crashes and freeze after the iOS 8 upgrade. I am so frustrated coz I use my iPad for work and office.
Will Apple ever take notice of these issues and try to do something about it?
Please DO SOMETHING about it and get it fixed.

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

Try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode to remove passcode.
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune (make sure you have the newest version of iTune)
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost if you do not have backup.

  • IPad mini is stuck between home screen and multitasking

So my iPad got stuck between the home screen and the last app i had open when i was trying to get it to multitask. I've tried to hold down the sleep/wake button and home button and it just takes a screen shot, even when i hold it for 20+ seconds. Or, it'll go to siri and when i tell siri to open any given app, she tells me she wasn't able to. I am so frustrated its been like this for almost an hour now. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down (together at the same time) until you see the Apple Logo.
