Ipad mini goes on it own

My Ipad mini has decided to have a mind of it own. It just goes to all different screens and won't let me press anything

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this.

Does the screen respond properly to your typing? If it handles other typing correctly, leave the passcode off and see if it wakes and works properly.
If it has problems with recognition of typing, take it to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out.

My ipad mini keeps going into lock screen whilst I am using it. What could be causing this?

If you do not touch the screen within the lock screen time period it will do this. If this is happening while you are actively touching the screen or other action then:
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?

I live in the Boston area and it appears right now that the only place to get the Mini is through Apple's website for in-Apple Store pickup the next day. I have called a few BB's in the area and not only don't they have any, they have no clue when they are getting any. Any info wo uld be great. Thanks

Why does my ipad mini keep restarting itself?

I bought an ipad mini in Feb, 2013 and until 2 weeks ago it has been working like a charm. Now my ipad mini restarts on its own without my consent. I have witnessed it restart when i have been reading books from ibooks, when opening programs, when listening to music and a few times when it hasn't been in use just sitting on the bench in screen saver mode. Yesterday i plugged the mini into my laptop and determined that i am currently using the most up to date software and that ensured i had saved a back up on the icoud and my computer. Finally i went trhough itunes to restore my ipad to is factory settings. This was completed this morning without a glitch only to find some 10 hours later my ipad is continueing to restart without any warning. Help!!

IPad Mini display shaking

The last couple of days the content of the display on my iPad Mini goes crazy after a period of use. On any screen things just move about wildly. Switching off cures it, but it starts again after a few minutes of use.
This is not the shaking one uses to delete apps, it is really weird. The display zooms, it pans, and if I shift from the app where it happens the same thing happens on any other app, as well as the home screen.
Does this make any sense? I'll try and video it next time it happens. I'm up to date on updates.

Advice for setting up new iPad mini, for our 13 yr old, needed.

We are buying an iPad mini for our daughter's 13th birthday present, and naturally, are full of fear & hesitations for all the obvious security reasons. But, she has ADHD & some learning disabililities, and we know that the iPad Mini with app's could help her overcome several academic & organizational challenges when she enters highschool next year.
She, and we, have some questions though, about the WISEST (ie: most responsible) way to set it up for her use.
Should we set up the iPad mini as completely free from our family mac desktop (which still runs OS X 10.6.8, not Lion)?
Should she get her own Apple ID? This would allow her own Cloud storage, & foster future responsibility, but then would she still be able to access app's stored on our family computer & other iPads.?
Should we start her own iTunes account? So that she can buy her own tunes & app's. But once again, could she manually sync already purchased stuff from our family computer?
Backing up: should she back up her iPad mini with iCloud (her own apple ID) or with iTunes?
If we did set her up with her own Apple ID (that we would know the password to), could we still set parental controls - which she actually wants(!)?
She would like limits on the time she can spend on the internet, AND time limits on playing with certain games - as she fears getting "addicted" to the games.
How would we set time limits on app use?

There would be no issue syncing it with your computer and putting content on it. It can back itself up to iCloud, but another backup of the content on a computer is always a good idea.
If you already have an Apple ID with purchased apps, it would be fine to let her use it. You can use a shared Apple ID (for iTunes, iBooks, App Store), and have a seperate iCloud account (To sync critical info and back-up).
The parental controls in iOS are independent from an Apple ID, you can set-up the restrictions when you get the iPad and adjust them to what you are most comfortable with.

IPad 2 or iPad mini? ASAP

Which to buy? iPad 2 or iPad mini?
I already own an iPhone 4S which will be used for all my music, texting, FaceTime, Taking photos and shooting videos. The iPad will be taken basically everywhere as my iPhone's companion, it will be used for things such as heavy web browsing, YouTube, Gaming, Movies & reading of magazine subscriptions etc.
iCloud will be used so 16gb storage is fine. WiFi model is fine as i will tether my iPhone when on the go and internet is available at home.
All I am really asking, based on my needs; should i buy the iPad 2 or iPad mini?
The $399 price point is as high as i will go at the moment.

My new ipad Mini will not sync with my contacts from my Mac?

Please help, I have tried many things but nothing fixes that fact that I cannot get my contacts to sync from my Mac across to my iPad mini.

I fixed my own problem - so excited... On the iPad go to settings then mail, contacts, calendars opened icloud and turned on icloud on for contacts. Re-synced iPad with Mac and *hey presto* all my contacts are there.
