Ipad mini/HDMI question?

I want to buy the lightning to HDMI adapter for my ipad mini to use it to record video WHILE it's hooked to the monitor.  Does this keep the record screen ACTIVE while it mirrors the video, or is this not possible?

How are you recording it, are you using an app of some kind that's from Curia (jail broken) or are you recording on a computer monitor?

Hi all! I have found the answer in another forum and this has 100% worked for me!!!
    1) Quit App Store in multi-tasking.
•From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
•Tap and hold on the app.
    •When it starts to jiggle, tap the red  ⛔ in the top corner to close it;
***Please close all open apps on your phone***
    2) Tap Settings.
    3) Tap Safari.
    4) Tap Clear History.
    5) Tap the Clear History button.
    6) Tap Clear Cookies and Data.
    7) Tap the Clear Cookies and Data button
    See the answer in context
I hope this helps a lot of people!! Spread the word (seeing as apple doesn't seem to want to/care!)

  • Ipad mini retina question need help.

I only have enough cash to get one or the other, Ipad mini retina 16gb cellular wifi or 32 gb wifi only, and I have unlimited data on my iphone so I plan to tether anyway, is there any other perks added to buying the cellular one if you just plan to tether?

    Get the 32GB wifi only.

  • IPad mini mail question

My home wifi is working and I can receive mail on my iPad mini but it will not send mail. It gives me a message that says an error occurred while delivering the message. Help?

No I wasn't talking about the email account you are using - I was talking about the email address you are trying to send to....are you having the problem with all email addresses that you are sending to, or a specific one?
And have you tried to send an email to your own email address?
    If so, what happens then?

  • IPad Mini/PDF Question

    Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem.  I'm unable to open a specific PDF on my iPad, which I have no trouble opening on my iPhone.  Typically an option to "open in" Adobe pops up, bu on my iPad mini, I don't even have that option.

Thanks.  I was actually instructed to do this by my help desk already, but still no luck   It's a fillable pdf, and oddly I can see the actual form, but cannot read any of the information that's filled in.  I'm perplexed as to why I'm not even given the option to open the document in a different window, like Adobe.  On my iPhone, I have the option.

  • Ipad mini charging question

    dear all:
my charger for ipad mini was damaged, can i use my iphone 4 charger for my ipad mini before i have new charger for it?
    thanks

Both the iPad mini charger and iPhone charger are rated at 5W, and are the same. If you get a new charger for the mini, get the iPad 4 charger rated at 12W. It will charge both your iPad and iPhone faster.

  • IPad Mini storage question

    hi
I have an iPad Mini with 12 GB storage. I keep getting a warning message about running out of space. I do a pretty good job of managing apps and data, and I couldn't believe that I had that much space taken up by either of them. So I totalled all the storage taken up by apps and files and I have just over 2 GB.
Does this mean that the iOS operating system is taking up the rest??
Is there somewhere on the Apple website we can get information on how much space the iOS takes up?
If that's the case then storage capacity is a misleading spec when buying iPads
    thx
    nick

I should have mentioned...that's where I always check the storage in the settings, and I can't figure out what's eating up all that storage because I've cleaned everything I can think of and can't account what's taking that much storage
are there other ways to check the storage?

  • IPad mini connector question

I just got an iPad mini with the lightening connector, but my university halls don't have wireless Internet, am I able to use the thunderbolt Ethernet adapter with the lightening dock?

    No.

  • Ipad mini applecare question

if an black ipad mini breaks, will i be able to get a white one for the replacement?

When under warranty devices are usually exchanges on a like for like basis. But only the location where the warranty claim is made can make the determination. Ask when you turn in your defective iPad.

  • I have an iPAD mini (4?), everything else in the house is windows. I want to print (using a Canon MF3010), aand also sned Facetime views to the TV, which is pre HDMI.  How can I do these two things?

I have an iPad mini 4; how do I print to a Canon MF 3010?
How do I send  ANYTHING TO A PRE HDMI TV?
    thanks

For Printing, after checking this page:
    AirPrint basics
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
It appears your printer is not Airprint compatible. In fact it appears as though your printer is not Wireless even.  So you will be limited to sharing applications installed on your Windows computer.
Try this guide and see if it works for you.
    http://tweaks.com/windows/46495/enable-ios-airprint-support-on-windows/
Basically you'll need to find an application that can share the printer out to your wireless network using the AirPrint protocol which is what iPads use to communicate with printers.
For the second part of the question:
The short answer is you won't be able to do it directly. To view facetime on your Tv you need to mirror your iPad's screen. either through the Av Digital adapter, which connects through HDMI to the TV, or through an Apple TV which only has HDMI output.
So your only option is to get an HDMI to composite converter to plug either between the Apple Tv and the TV, or between the Digital AV adpater and the TV.
    Something like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/ViewHD-Universal-Composite-Converter-Standard/dp/B0080KN18 K
    Apple TV
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipod/family/apple_tv
    Lightning Digital Av Adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
Oh, and an iPad 4 and an iPad Mini are 2 different products. One is the normal Sized iPad while the other one is the smaller sized version.

  • What do I need to use my "IPAD MINI" on a TV without HDMI?

    Hi all,
I hope you guys can help as Apple Support on the phone and in store were useless!!!!
    Dilemma
I had an IPAD 2 and brought the Apple AV composite lead (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC748ZM/A/apple-composite-av-cable) so I could watch my IPAD 2 onto my TV.
Now I have upgraded to an IPAD MINI. this has the new lightning adapter, so I was looking to purchase from Apple their Lightning to 30-pin adapter (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter?fnode=45) so I could reuse my AV composite lead into my TV. And this is where the problems start.....
    1. The Lightning to 30-pin adapter does not support "video"!
    2. My TV does not have an HDMI, so rules out Apple TV, etc
    3. Apple do not do a Lightning AV composite lead and are unlikely to produce one apparently (as there is not the demand)
    My restrictions are as follows;
    1. My TV has scart and AV connections only (but no HDMI)
    2. I need to have audio and video supported (for photos / videos and sound)
    3. I can't afford to buy a new TV... by the way that was the Apple solution, then buy an Apple TV.... they are on a different planet..... lol :-)
Any help, pointers in the UK where I can buy a lead elsewhere would be great or any decent solutions (and they wouldn't have to be great to beat Apples thus far!).... thanks community!

I haven't found any Lightning-to-Composite Video adapter anywhere. You'll probably need the Lightning Digital AV adapter and then an HDMI to composite video converter, as suggested in Patrick's response in this thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4351799?start=0&tstart=0
I've found that suggestion echoed in other places, so that may be your only option.
    Regards.

  • I have an iPad 2 and will be buying iPad mini this weekend. my question is: i have books on ibook that i want on my new iPad and some that i don't want... how can i download only the books i want?

I have an ipad 2 that has about 300 books on the Ibook app. This weekend i'm buying a mini Ipad, now my questions is this: I don't want all of the books on Ibook on my new Ipad. Can I just download the books that I want on Ibook? How do I do that? Can anybody help me please?

In the settings you can choose to not automatically update content so you can manually manage the books on the mini.
settings, iTunes and app store, and turn off automatic downloads

  • Ipad Mini :Lightning /HDMI Video Out Not working

I just tried a new Apple Ipad/IPhone AV HDMI/ Lightning adapter to try and play videos to my TV/Monitors thru their HDMI Port.
The Ipad Mini recognized it was plugged in and notified me it was playing thru my TV.
But I got no audio/video thru the TV and no indication it was getting a signal thru the adapter.
    What am I doing wrong?
The HDMI input in my Flatscreen HD TV shows my Mac Mini screen perfectly and any videos I have thru it.
Bad adapter, bad HDMI cable, operator error?
What is the system NOT playing content?
The $49.00 adapter should work flawlessly at this price point, imho.

Took a trip to the Genius Bar and about 2 minutes to correct: The Dynex HDMI Cable from Best Buy didn't work. The Apple one works fine.
Now I find my Movie Download from Comcast On Demand won't play thru the adapter. The Movie plays fine on the Mini, but I get a screen warning it's being blocked by Apples' Relationship with Starz. Funny, Comcast says it works fine. Another example of Apple forcing me to use the I-Tunes store on their products if I want to see it on their Hardware? If I pay for the rights thru Comcast, and they don't limit my Hardware, is it right for a Computer Maker too?  After the E-Books price fixing probe...are these kinds of issues next?

  • IPad mini with 30 pin HDMI adapter

    Hi,
I have iPad mini and "lightning to 30 pin converter". I want to buy 30 pin HDMI Adapter (for iPad 2). I want to know that if I connect that 30 pin HDMI adapter to my iPad mini with the help of "lightning to 30 pin converter", will it work on my device?
    Thanks in advance...

Cleaning the docking port didn't help. My other accessories still work.
