IPad Mini Lost

Hi There,
I came from Brisbane to Malaysia today morning. But I forgot my iPad mini in the flight. I have lodged a report but the staff didn't find it. Apparently it looks like someone (may be passenger) replaced my iPad with local gadget.
Is it possible to disable iPad thru Apple Support so that user don't use it?
Thanks,
Rajendra

If the iPad was running iOS 7, the thief/finder will not ever be able to use it.

What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

  • Ipad mini lost wifi connectivity after 8.1

Can no longer connect on my ipad mini to wifi after installing 8.1.  Tried all the recommended fixes such as rebooting, resetting network settings, even resetting the ipad.  Nothing.

AFter total restore, it finally came back.  I don't know why except I think it was reading my ip address wrong. I had deleted what was there and finally it just came back.

The "sent" email sound-swoosh-is no longer heard on the mini.  Other sounds like music are fine.  The sound settings show  mail is set up with the proper sounds, but when sending mail--no sound.

  • IPad mini doesn't recognize my phone number only email

iPad mini lost my phone number. Only text from my email. How do I get it to recognize my phone number again

    Hello Feltongirl93,
The troulbeshooting steps outlined below detail how to get your phone number linked to your Apple ID.
If your phone number isn't listed on an iPod touch or iPad, follow these steps:
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Verify that you're using the same Apple ID that you're using on your iPhone.
On your iPad or iPod touch, sign out of your Apple ID in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID with FaceTime and iMessage.
If your phone number still isn't listed, follow these steps:
Sign out of your Apple ID on all iOS devices, including your iPhone, in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your iPhone.
When activation is complete, your Apple ID and all verified email addresses should be visible in Settings > Messages > Receive At and Settings > FaceTime.
Sign in to your Apple ID on your other iOS devices.

  • IOS 7 problems of sensitivity on the Ipad Mini screen

After updating to ios 7 my ipad mini lost some sensitivity on the screen. now I have to press the screen harder and sometimes several times to respond the screen.
has anyone had this situation after updating to ios 7?

I'm having the same problem and neither rebooting or resetting settings have changed the problem. Mine is specially in the corners. Very frustrating when I'm playing games or while reading a book in iBooks or Kindle and I want to go the library or the store I can't get it to work. So, I have to keep turning the iPad Mini around until I find a corner that works...

  • Any way to recover Pages documents on disabled, never-synced iPad Mini or connect it to network so Lost message will appear?

    Hi,
Apologies for the long post. For my three questions, please skip to the bold copy below. The first couple paragraphs are preamble.
Yesterday I unwittingly--and dimwittedly--disabled my 2012 iPad Mini by entering my password too many times. (Or rather my coat pocket and Bluetooth keyboard did it as I walked all over town, unaware of what they were up to. The activated keyboard in one pocket continually woke the sleeping iPad in my other pocket, the iPad kept demanding a password, and in the jostling I must have entered password after password. Finally it disabled because I'd set it to do so. I didn't know it was permanent though. I thought it would ask me to try again in a few hours. My oversight.)
I'm desperate to get my Pages documents off the iPad, which I've never backed up on iCloud or synced with iTunes. (My Macbook went belly up in July and I couldn't afford both a new computer and the more portable iPad--so I just bought the iPad and the Pages app.) Until December I was emailing myself the Pages manuscripts I was working on, but a few weeks ago I got lazy about this, and now I've lost a month's worth of work. I couldn't be madder at myself.
The Genius Bar gave me only the Erase/Restore option, which I can't bring myself to do. So I tried a couple third-party apps (Dr. Fone and Phone Unlocker) on my office iMac. But both require me to tell the iPad to "Trust this Mac" when the iPad shows the prompt--which the iPad doesn't do because it's completely disabled. The only words that ever appear onscreen are "iPad is disabled" and "Connect to iTunes."
So I'm scouring my brain for solutions:
    1) Is there any hope of re-enabling the iPad while preserving the data, maybe by starting a restore process in iTunes and aborting before data is erased? Then maybe the password field will show up again and I can type in the correct one?
    2) Or, even better, is there a way to connect the iPad to a network via the Lightning connector or even by taking it apart and hooking it up to something or other? (WiFi was on when I last used the iPad, though I don't have a cellular plan.) I ask because if I can get it online, then it will get the Lost iPad message I sent via Find My iPhone (in iCloud), and presumably the password field will show up on the iPad (along with my phone number), allowing me to enter the password once I've marked it as Found. But the iPad will only receive my message to it if it's connected to a network--which it can't do while disabled.
    3) Is there any chance that in the next few months or years someone will figure out a solution (maybe a better recovery software) that will let me access my documents again? I just can't delete them, even if it means putting it in a drawer and saving up for a new iPad.
Many, many thanks for any suggestions, no matter how outlandish. I'm desperate!

    Hi Brian
I had the same exact thing happen to me - except it was my wireless keyboard that disabled my ipad.  I also have documents on Pages that I did not want t to lose.  This worked for me!  Found it on another help site....I was able reactivate my ipad - nothing lost - all is good!
    1. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    2. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    3. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    4. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    5. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    6. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    7. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

  • I need some help, somebody has turned the restrictions on on my daughters  iPad mini and we don't know the pass code to turn it off.  She has lost the iTunes icon because of this.  Anybody know what to do?  Thanks

Help, somebody has turned the restrictions on on my daughters iPad mini and we don't know the pass code to turn it off. Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
    5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost.

I lost my iPad mini while traveling recently.  I tried using the Find My iPhone App (which showed my iMac, my iPhones, my old iPad, and my macbook) but the mini didn't show up...probably because it was turned off or the battery ran down.
I still have the original receipt from when I purchased it, showing the article number and the serial number.  Is there any way to locate it with that info?

No, unless you had Find My iPad enabled on it then there isn't any way to try and locate it.
Have you reported it to the police in case somebody hands it in ? You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc., and if it was a cellular model also contact your carrier.

  • TS3274 ipad mini suddenly lost wi-fi and will no longer reconnect with known networks

My ipad mini (wi-fi only) suddenly lost wi-fi connection and will no longer reconnect with known networks...
Its done it to 2 seperate networks (home and work) which makes me think its the ipad rather than a network problem...??
Ive tried to forget the network and then re-join but i keep getting the message "Unable to join the network"
Any clues on how to fix??

    Hello moniciampi
Continue with resetting the network settings on your iPad mini by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. There are some other options to test out with the steps in the article below.

  • I lost my iPad mini how can I find it?

I lost my iPad mini how can I find it?

If you had "Find My iPad" enabled then you may be able to locate it. If not, you cannot locate it. If it was enabled then you can try locating it via http://icloud.com on a computer or the App "Find My iPhone" on another iDevice. Note: this will only work if your device is connected to a network and the device hasn't already been restored as new and/or "Find My iPad" has not been disabled on it. Note: Disabling "Find My iPad" is much more difficult in iOS 7.
If you think that your device was stolen rather than lost then you should report it to the police. In either case you should contact your carrier, change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

i have lost my ipad mini...is there a way to locate my lost ipad mini?

If you went to iCloud in System Preferences and turned on Find My and then registered it in iCloud you can login to your iCloud account, click Find My Phone and if the Mini is turned on,and connected to the Internet it should show up.
If it was not setup, is not turned on, nor connected to the Internet there is nothing that can be done to find it.
