IPad Mini Microphone not very sensitive.
Has anyone else tried Facetime or Google+ Hangouts and found the microphone to be pretty poor? I need to actually put my mouth an inch or so away for anyone to hear me. I would try my iPhone 4 headphones but I don't think that mic ever worked. Curious if this is an overall design flaw or if mine is defective.

Since the mini is new, I wouldn't think this would be the problem, but try it. Could be dust in the mic hole. Use a vacuum on the hole.
Hold onto it if using a vacuum ! It's so light it might get sucked up and scratched!

Why is the iPad mini screen not very sensitive to touch?
There are times when the screen is not sensitive to touch. This is always observed when in Netflix mode, i.e. When trying to pause the move, re-start to continue or when exiting the movie. Is this a common occurrence? This also occurs at times during the internet mode when the backup arrow key is selected to get back to the previous page. Any answers to this issue will be appreciated. I believe this IPad mini is of the 2nd generation.
GolpedegulatThat's a fair point but my 4S running the last iOS 5 update loads the thousands of apps I have purchased over the past 4 years in a few seconds on a wi-fi connection. Whereas the mini iPad does not and if it starts showing sings of doing it, it simply crashes back to the home screen. The iPad works flawlessly in all other contexts and when viewing previously purchased music and video, it loads that just fine.
While these forums are exactly the place where you see that "very small minority" experiencing this issue, it is quite an aggravating hiccup for a brand new device running a somewhat maligned operating system. It is definitely not a hardware issue at all, which is comforting, but it could very well be the operating system and it could also be an Apple server problem, the latter would be great. The end result is that Apple cannot help me after I detailed the issue and escalated it. -
My iPad mini was working very fine from last 9 months....but suddenly today I found it discharging from 100% to 34% though I didn't use it at all...and also found my mini is slightly heated up at the bottom..any help regarding this would be greatful
Same thing happened to me with my peruvian credit card in the peruvian app store, I want to buy an app, but it says that my credit card is "not supported in the Peruvian app store"

Ipad mini charger getting very hot
ipad mini charger getting very hot. Not the ipad. What is it? A problem, or normal?
Warm is normal. Too hot to handle, literally, is not. So if you can hold it, then it's probably fine. Mine gets hot when it's charging. But if it's too hot for you to hold then you should stop using it and get it checked out an apple store.

New iPad Mini is not connecting to Wi-Fi.
I AM FURIOUS! IT IS CHRISTMAS AND MY BRAND NEW IPAD MINI IS NOT CONNECTING TO WIFI!
Excuse me - I am a owner of a chain of computer repair stores.. I am not a amature. Thats my qualification.
EVERY SINGLE DEVICE CONNECTS TO THE ROUTER.. iPad 2 iPad 3 iPhone 5 iPhone 4 iPhone 4s and my macbook pro.
I DID EVERYTHING! CLEARLY ALL FINGERS POINT TO THE DEVICE HARDWARE MALFUNCTION
Reset the router, Installed a new router, Updated the iPad Mini software (5 times with restore) Changes the wifi password endless times, reset everything countless times.
this disgusts me that APPLE would release devices with bugs in it. FIX THIS NOW.
Sincerely, Your LOYAL CUSTOMERS!
i'm furious i'm furious i'm extremely mad right now. i have nothing to say besides i am very upset...
(NOTE! Bought my iPhone 5 the day it was released (expected bugs) since the day of release APPLE has replaced my iPhone 5 (7) times in only a few months. WHERE IS THE R&D GUYS?!~
stilll mad...
<Re-Titled By Host>This is an iPad user to user forum. Apple doesn't read or respond. We'll try to help you.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. my new ipad mini will not charge when plugged into adapter. What should I try?
Does the charger get warm at all? Plug the cable into your computer with iTunes open. Does it say not charging.? If it does, the cable is good. The iPad will charge very slowly when pluged into your computer.

My Ipad mini does not see my printer. my wife's ipad2 does. We both use IOS8 and upgraded at the same time. How can I remedy this?
OK great info!
I found 2 possible ethernet to USB adapters:
By "Plugable": USB 2.0 to ethernet LAN wired network adapter - seems this will work, but I'll contact Plugable.
2. Apple USB Ethernet Adapter
Easily connect your MacBook Air computer to an Ethernet network with the Apple USB Ethernet Adapter. Small and light, it connects to the USB 2.0 port of your MacBook Air and provides an RJ-45 connector that supports 10/100BASE-T performance. BUT NOT SURE IF THIS WILL WORK ON ANYTHING BUT a MacBook Air…
One person commented:
This little gem used to be the device of choice for adding a second Ethernet interface to a Mac Mini Server and I'd been using one that way for about a year. After doing a software update to 10.6.6 it stopped working. Forewarned is forearmed – it appears that Apple is finally enforcing the MacBook Air system requirement.
Thanks for any additional comments.
Best regards,
Steve Schulte

I Have the same issue on a brand new iPad mini 2. My battery is only lasting up to 5 hours. I went on chat with Apple last night and they said my battery is fine and its a Safari issue. I'm literally losing 1% every 3-4 minutes. I tried recalibrating my battery, signing out of iCloud, shutting off all locations, turning off background app refresh, restoring network settings, restoring all, and finally restoring from iTunes with no luck. This is just awful. I got this iPad so I could use it on my long flight for a trip I have coming up, and unfortunately, it's not going to last that long, plus I'm concerned about how many times i will be recharging my battery because of this since battery's do have a life cycle dependent on the number of charges. This is frustrating and needs to be fixed ASAP and addressed by Apple.
By the way, Apple told me to bring my device to the Apple Store because it's still under warranty. That's great and all, but I'm going to waste my time if there is no fix for this issue.
Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it. -
