Ipad mini not being discovered by iTunes

Hi,
Was in the process of updating iOS on iPad Mini to the latest version. It rebooted and ever since I have had the iTunes logo on the iPad. I cannot get iTunes to recognise the iPad to perform a restore from backup. I have tried resets, reinstalls of iTunes. all to no avail.
Is there anything else that I can try before heading to the Apple Store?
Thanks for your help.

At present I have no power to the Gen 7, so need to get some power to it I think.  I pressed the buttons as you suggested, but nothing is showing up at this point.  Thank you for your response as the more I can rule out before  I take it back the better I think.

• My iPad is not being recognized by iTunes...

My iPad is not being recognized by iTunes.  I am trying to sync with my desktop so that I can reset everything since a train wreck associated with provider change has occured.  I've tried my iPod as well, and it isn't being recognized either.
Does anyone have any suggestions for this type of situation.  I thought it might be my power cord (so I reordered a new one), but the iPod uses a different one so don't think that is the issue now.
Many thanks in advance for all who respond to this scream of frustration.

• HT203128 My iPad is not being detected by iTunes after I updated to the latest version of iTunes.  What should I do?

After updating to the new version of iTunes, my iPad 2 is not being detected when I tried to sync.  Any solutions?

A few things to try. Any one or a combo mayhelp
Reset your iPad.
Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. Then plug it back in and see if it is seen now.
Try a different USB port
Reboot your computer
If you have a PC:
If that doesn't fix it, go into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTunes, apple Mobile device service, apple application support.
Then redownload and reinstall iTunes. then try again.

• New iPad 2, not being reconized with iTunes

I received this iPad today as a birthday present. On my desktop computer HP Pavillion, which has iTunes 10.2 installed, and has always synced my iPhone and both iPod touchs, My computer reconizes the iPad and installs the device driver, but even after following the iPad troubleshooter iTunes still will not reconize the iPad is there.
I tried it on my laptop and got it registered fine, however all my backups/apps and books and music and the like is all saved on my desktop computer.
What other steps are needed to fix this? I'd really hate to have to uninstall iTunes from desktop as I have over 5,000 songs in it.
Are there any suggestions Please?
Thank you

How old is your desktop?
It's USB ports may not be able to handle the voltage iPad requires. Just a thought!

• IPhone 5 and iPad 3 not being recognized by iTunes

I have tried this:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591
and this:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1747
and this:
http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/itunes/#section_7
I have tried different usb cables and ports and turning the lightning part of the usb cable over.  I have done a soft and hard reset on the phone. I have turned off and restarted my computer.
I have OSX 10.6.8, iTunes 11.0.4, iOS 6.1.4 (6.1.3 on iPad)
My phone charges when plugged in and iPhoto recognizes it and opens when plugged in. I am also seeing both in the Image Capture program.  I have been able to get the phone to appear in iTunes, but iTunes freezes up and does nothing.
Also, same issue and problems as above with my iPad 3.
This is the error message I get:

I have installed and tried to use iTunes 11.0 and 10.7 but no luck.  I can get my phone to show up but then iTunes freezes up and I have to force quit.  I can get my ipad to show up but when I try to sync, iTunes freezes up and I have to force quit.
I didn’t have an issue until I updated iTunes to version 11.0.4

• My iPad is not being recognised by iTunes ? Its the latest retina display model. Your help would be hugely appreciated

Any help you can offer would be great.

Is your iTUnes up to date?
Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.
Beyond that, what are you doing and what is it saying? Any error messages?
