how can i update my ipad mini ios 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 directly to ipad not with itunes?????????
crystal_heart,
Your post is totally unrelated to the old post you tagged on to. You need to create a new post to get answers to your specific problem. Plus, you'll get email answers.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.1.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.
You can no longer update to iOS 6.x, or down grade the iOS.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and antivirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 7.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.
 Cheers, Tom

  • Find my iPad Mini not working

My wife got an iPad Mini Friday. This morning I noticed that Find My iPhone will never show it as online. I checked the configuration. Find My iPad is toggled on. Location Services is On. I just updated the software to iOS 6.0.1, but it didn't work under 6.0 either. I can use Find My iPhone on the device to find my other devices. Maps works on the device and shows the correct location. I tried Play Sound and it has not played.
My wifi-only iPad 2 is sitting right next to the Mini connected to the same wireless network and it does work through Find My iPhone.. Both appear to be configured the same.
    Any ideas?

I ran into a similar issue - iOS 6.1.3 and my iPad mini wouldn't appear on the map or as online.  I did find it, but when I did - it was online without issues but STILL wasn't showing up in iCloud anywhere.  It had never locked itself or played a sound.
I ran through all the settings, iCloud was on, Etc.  I then re-entered my iCloud password and it showed up for just a minute or so, but still no location, then it was gone again.
Then I powered down the iPad by holding down the lock button, using the slider to do a nice shutdown.  When it came back, it showed up as online and stayed there, but still, no location.
I went into the Settings, Privacy - under Location Services the last app was Find my iPad (shouldn't this in system services??) - Find my iPad was on and Status Bar Icon was off - perfect.  Still wasn't showing up, so I turned off Find my iPad here, exited the privacy menu, waited, then returned and turned it on again.
Now it's appearing and working with all features.
    Cheers.

  • Why is the Pages app for iPad Mini not working?

For the last few days I have been having major issues with the word processing application Pages for the iPad. It is taking a very long time to show me my documents, then it takes just as long to open up documents. Then when it finally opens up the document I have selected; the entire functionality is extremely slow and sluggish.
I turned the iPad on and off several times to see if that would help. I deleted the pages app. I even freed up some extra space on the iPad. None of these things have resolved anything.
If it is at all relevant I am using the most recent version of Pages (especially since I re-downloaded it). I am also using the latest version of iOS 8 on the iPad. My iPad is synched to iCloud. I have a maximum storage capacity of 20 gb (to which I have only used 675 kb). I am using the first generation iPad Mini (which is the very first iPad mini)
    What could be the problem?
Should I reset the factory settings of the entire iPad? I'm at a loss of how to resolve this.

The problem may be due to slow internet access to icloud where the document is being stored and saved.
Try creating a new document which is not on iCloud to see how the performance is.

  • HT4061 Ipad Mini Not Working

Those Enenyone now how to unfreeze mini Ipad All I See Is Itune Connected

If your problem is covered by the warranty apple will either repair the iPad or replace it with an identical model. Apple does not accept trade ins for newer products. My suggestion would be to have your iPad repaired. If you want a different device, sell your iPad and purchase the newer model.

  • I just upgraded to ios7 but why does my keyboard on my ipad mini not work now

Does anyone have an answer for this ?

Is it the built in keyboard or a bluetooth keyboard? If the restet don't work try to reset all settings from settings > general > reset if its the built in keyboard. If bluetooth keyboard, unpair the device from the settings> Bluetooth> and restore the network settings from settings > general > reset and then re-pair the keyboard and iPad.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPad mini is working on it own even I'm not touching it. I tried to reset it but nothing works to fix it! Pls help.

My iPad mini is working on its own even I'm not touching it. It's even changing from one apps to the other without my control! And type on its own!! I tried to reset all contents setting many times but it does not fixed the problem. Please help me!

Erasing the device doesn't do any good if there is a problem with the iOS software. That merely removes the contents and settings from the iPad. You need to restore to factory settings and restore the iOS.
