Ipad mini power cable

When I plug my iPad Mini power cable into a USB hub, the hub gets a "power surge" and shuts down.  What can I do?

The USB hub doesn't provide enough power to charge the iPad.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • IPad Mini Camera cable won't work

Hello, I have an iPad Mini (lovvvve it!!!) and purchased the USB camera kit. This works perfectly with my Olympus Pen EPM1 so I know I am doing it right. I also have an ancient Olympus mju 410 which I use for underwater pics when snorkelling on hols! I have plugged the cable in and it just says "one moment" and nothing happens.
Does anyone know if this is because it is a bit old and the new fangled iPad is confusing it? The camera works fine when I plug it into a netbook to download photos.
    Thanks for any thoughts.

  • RS140 - Hard Drive Mounts / SAS Mini power cables

We have purchased a few trimmed down RS140’s and we are now looking to add more hard drives. We currently have 2 problem, we are unable to find the SAS 4x power adapters mentioned in the manual. The 2nd is we are unable to find the proper mounting bracket to fit 2.5 inch SAS hdd’s. I have not been able to get an answer from google of all places or from the company we purchased the servers from. Can someone please tell me how to order these parts as I do not seem to see them available on Lenovo’s site either.

Good day and welcome to the community.
I'll disclaim right up front that I have no experience with these devices, but I hope the info below helps you zero in on what you need.
First, here's the hardware manual for the RS140: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/thinkservers/rs140_hmm_ug_en.pdf
Next, here's the service parts list for the same: http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkCentre/rs140_service_parts.pdf
A quick look makes me think it will have useful P/Ns for you in the Cables and Mechanicals sections.
Finally, I took a wild stab with these two FRUs:
    00FC375 - Mini-SAS to 4X2.5" SAS Combo Cable
    00FC519 - 2.5HDD BRK
at the maintenance parts site: http://www-304.ibm.com/shop/americas/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/default/PromotionDisplay?promoName=pa...
and both come back as "In Stock".
    Hope this helps a bit.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 2670qm - Windows 7 - USB ports do not power iPAD mini

All of my USB ports work fine with media drives and to connect to my Android phone.
My problem is that they don't provide power to my iPAD mini. i spent 45 minutes at the Apple store uninstalling the Apple mobile drivers and iTunes and re-installing them.  The Apple tech recommended that course of action. Unfortunately it made no difference, still no power to the iPAD mini. My iPAD mini and cable work with other laptops but not my dv6 2670qm.
My iPAD mini has never worked on my laptop.
    Any Suggestions?

    Hi Super Mario,
Thank you for your quick reply.  In the second paragraph of my post, I noted that the iPad mini and cable work with other laptops, both x86 and Apple (tested at home and the Apple store).  It works for charging and iTunes on all of the other computers we have tried.  Neither of those functions work on the HP dv6, in fact be iPad doesn’t even indicate that there is not enough power or that it is an incompatible port (the error messages referenced in the article).  It does nothing at all when plugged into the dv6’s USB ports.
The Apple article you referenced indicates that the USB port must be at a certain power level.  Can you confirm the power level for the USB ports on the dv6 Intel 2670qm?  It seems like a lot of people have trouble with the USB ports on the dv6 based on the posts.  Can you think of any other explanation for in the non-recognition of the iPad mini?
    Thanks again.

  • Can i Use Huawei E355 With an IPad Mini

    Hi,
    Please check this Device Specifications
    http://www.huaweidevice.co.in/Products/MobileBroadband/E355.php
It is a specific type of modem which symply needs usb power to create a wifi hotspot which can be done by a wall charger or laptop usb port.
My question is can the lightning conductor to usb cable of ipad mine power it up to create a wifi hotspot so that i can access internet on it.
Will i be able to access internet in this manner?
    Thanks

Your Mac OS X version has to be at least 10.6.x. So you need to upgrade your OS from Tiger 10.4 to Snow Leopard 10.6 or higher to run the latest version of iTunes, v11.x

  • HT4623 iPad Mini - one year old.  Plugged it in to charge and now it will not power on at all.  I have tried different cables to ensure it was not a faulty cable.  What else can I do?

I have an iPad mini that is exactly one year old.  I plugged it in to charge it.  The next morning it ws completely dead.  I can't get it to come on no matter what I try.  I have tried a different cable to see if my cable was faulty, but  that id not resolve the issue.  No matter what I try, I can not get it to power on.  I cannot get iTunes, nor my computer to recognize it when it is plugged in.
Has anyone else had this issue?  What can I do?  Any help would be appreciated!

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

  • HT1386 My iOS device (Ipad mini) only appears in iTunes while cable-connected, but does not appear after diconnect the cable. How can I Wifi sync ?

Hi, My iOS device (Ipad mini) only appears in iTunes while cable-connected, but does not appear after diconnect the cable. How can I Wifi sync ?
    Documents say
Whenever the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it....
But I can't see my iPad Mini in iTunes.
And my  Ipad  (Settings, General, iTunes Wifi Sinc)  shows  a message :" Sync will resume when xxx(my PC with iTunes) is available "...
Both are in the same network,
Ipad mini is is plugged in to power
. iTunes is open on the computer
    what can i Do ???

Hi Skydiver119,  and tks for four interest.
I have done exactly as you say, but it does not work for me.
You indicated  " Navigate to the info tab and scroll down. There'll be a check box for 'sync over wifi' or something to that effect. Check that box and sync to affirm your choice."
I navigated to Summary tab (not Info Tab) and checked "Sync with this ipad over Wi-Fi"
    I disconnect the wire,
and my iPad disappears from my iTunes screen.
in my iPad ->Settings -> General -> iTunes Wi-Fi Sync -> says " Sync will resume when (my PC) is available.
So, I can not sync via wi-fi
I appreciate if you can help me.

  • HT4060 Where on the iPad mini do I plug in the power cord?

I just bought a new iPad mini and need to recharge the battery.  But I don't see where on the iPad to plug in the power cord.  The power cord has the same male connector as my iPhone 4.  Help!

Use the cable that came with the iPad mini, not with your iPhone. Different connectors.

  • IPad mini retina - The connected device requires too much power.

    Hi,
I just bought the IDJ Live 2 Controller on 6 march 2014.
when I connect the lightning cable to the ipad and idj live 2, it shows me an error.
Unable to use the device: The connected device requires too much power.
i use the original cable from numark idj, my configuration is:
ipad mini retina ios 7.0.6 - idj live 2.
I tried with iPhone 4, it works well. (same ios)
I also have a sd card lighting adapter and it works on the iPad mini retina.
Currently it is not possible to power the lightining cable..
maybe in future, will Apple increase the output current through new ios?

No, because the other end of the lighining cable has a mini usb (type b) connector.

  • HT4061 My iPad Mini will not turn on or power up?

The other night when I was updating an app, my iPad Mini screen click and was frozen.  I took a trip to the AT&T store yesterday and they tried to recharge, but the screen was frozen.  As of today, I can not power up.
    Please Help!
    Thank you,
    Sherry

Is the screen lighting up when your press the home button?. If so a restore would be the next recommended route.
To restore your device fallow the steps below. please note your computer will need internet to do this.
    1. Put the device into restore mode. [ Power off Device, Then hold home button with device still powered off. then plug the Data Cable into the device. keep holding the Home button.{ please note the data cable needs to be plugged into the computer for this.} After that you should get a iTunes icon on the screen.]
When that comes on. the computer should respond to it. and iTunes will let you know there is a device detected in a Restore mode.
    2. Click on the restore button on the computer. Then iTunes will start to download the new iOS for your iPad. [also note. if the download takes longer than 20 mins. You will probably have to put the device back into restore mode.]
If after this step if your device is not responding then there is a hardware problem. and not a software problem.

  • I bought a IPad Mini in January and cable just started going bad 2 days ago.

I bought a iPad Mini in January and the lightning charging cable is having issues very sensitive and will stop charge if moved to much.theres no sign of damage on the cord and it doesnt get bent. so is this a common thing with these cables? it seems to be loose by the neck of the lightning pin it just started 2 days ago. thought it was my power sources, though now I've confirmed it's the cable that's loose. does anyone else have this issue?  does anyone have a suggestion for a better cable that's durable? I have seen a lightning cable flat wire, which seems to be a better choice. though I'm not sure. it needs to be durable and long it seems to be hard to find the best one. so any suggestions?

why dont they make other types of offical Apple lighting cords is that so hard? Theres ones out there by other companys  who have made the lightning cord wire thicker and more durable, its like the choices at the moment are keep getting a replacement cord from Apple until (A) you get one that stays working or (B) the year warrenty run out and your forced to buy a new cord..... well I'll be on route to contacting apple for a replacement cord and pray and hope that I get to stick to plan (A) I thank all who have replied. though I have a new question to the community before this topic gets solved or closed. How does the replacement thing work with Apple? I just need a new cord I have the online receipt  for the Ipad mini purchase,  they don't need my iPad mini too right?  its just the cord that gets sent to them, then they send me another? and is there any suggestions on what to do with the new cord coming to make it last a long time? headphone tubing, tape etc. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you everyone.
