Ipad Mini Randomly Crashes

My Ipad Mini started randomly crashing/restarting.  I have restored, reset, reloaded....everything.  I'm running latest software 8.1.3.  Apple store just tries to sell me new Ipad. There are a lot of error files that I ASSUME would be helpful in determining problem.  Anyone know what files would shed light on the issue?  I have panic.ips, ExcResource_(app name), log-sessions, ResetCounter, stacks+backboardd,   and others.

Maybe they try to sell you a new device because the error codes indicate hardware problems. You yourself stated that you have restored, reset, reloaded, etc. There isn't much more that you can do than what you have already done. If you restored as new - without loading a backup - and took the device to Apple for evaluation and they deem it to be hardware, then I would take their word for it.
Now having said that, you really provided no details in any context as to what happened when you took the iPad to the Apple Store.

  • What is causing my iPad mini to crash.

My iPad mini is crashing randomly.  Opening my google drive to read a document. Will open but then without warning will crash.  The same thing happens in FB. When I go to read a post or open a video link it shuts down and returns to the opening screen on the iPad .  I have tried shutting down the iPad and re starting it. Nothing changes.  Any suggestions?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430

Nope, never jail broke it.  Just randomly started the other day.
Recovery Mode is your last resort per the instructions here.  Also, read this.
If still no joy, make an appointment with the resident "Genius" at the closest Apple Store.

my ipad mini is crashing what can in do to fix it ?

Placing your device into recovery (DFU) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

I'm having the same problem with my ipad w/ retina display. Updated to 7.0.4 on Thursday or Friday and since last night been experiencing blue screen and random restarts.
Until recently it seemed to be linked only to the 'clash of clans' app, but now it is happening on the App Store too.
I contacted apple this morning, after an unsuccessful attempt at complete restore and set up as new ipad. They advised to restore a pervious back up and delete the clash of clans game. Did this, and now I'm getting problems elsewhere which suggests it isn't a compatibility issue with the OS and game.
Also in the same boat as you as I got it on November 2nd, launch day, and out of warranty by 2 weeks. Hopefully they can sort this either by fixing a bug in the OS or repairing my device as it's served me well with no issues for the past 12 months.

  • IPad mini randomly resets

I bought my iPad mini with retina display yesterday. It randomly resets yesterday and today. When it does reset it shows the apple log then goes to the lock screen. It doesn't happen constantly and I was wondering if it's just some lag or glitch. Please help

  • LR Mobile sync caused iPad mini to crash continuously and reboot with blue screen?

    Hi,
I've been using LR Mobile on my iPad Mini (Retina) for quite sometime now without any issues. It worked flawlessly, until yesterday.
I'm not sure whether this problem was caused by the LR Mobile app or not but this was my experience.
Begin syncing a LR Catalog file (760 photos, needed 1.6 GB of space on my iPad). Sync and download was in progress. (I enabled the offline edit option).
After like 10 minutes, I checked my iPad to see the sync status and it crashed and restarted by itself.
After it booted, I opened LR Mobile and bang.... it crashed again.
This happened several times and I also begin to get the blue screen of death on the iPad.
Finally, it booted properly and I opened LRM and begin to re-sync. Things went smoothly.
I had to cancel the sync (around 650 photos were synced) as I had to rush to work and the sync process was taking too long (it took me like 3 hours to sync the 650 photos as the iPad would go into sleep and the sync process would stop. Plus the iPad was crashing and rebooting in between the sync process and caused a loss of time).
Anyhow, on the way to work I opened LRM and begin working on the images. Everything seemed fine.
Just an hour ago, when I unlocked my iPad and wanted to work on the images, it crashed again. This time it went in a reboot cycle and the screen went bonkers - got the blue screen, and weird visual distortions of the apple logo, and other unusual visual effects begin to occur. I thought the iPad was gone for, as it went off and wouldn't even restart. (I even tried doing a hard reset - Home + Sleep/Wake buttons).
Finally when it booted and restarted on its own, I immediately deleted the LR Mobile app and restarted the iPad.
It's been like 2 hours now and the iPad's working fine.
Did anyone experience similar issues like this? Or is it just me
I feel very annoyed because after waiting for hours for my catalog to sync, I had to delete the app and lost all my synced photos
Can the Adobe LRM team please clarify if this could have been cause by the LRM app?
I've been using LRM for a long time and never encountered such a problem. Could it be because the app required around 1.6 GB of space on the iPad and they sync/download process was taking like forever to get done. ( I had plenty of free space on my iPad. Had like 5.6 GB free on it).
Any help and advise would be truly appreciated

    Hi,
Lightroom mobile should not be causing any iPad crashers, the issue with the crashing LrM is a known issue.
What would help would be if you can collect logs from your tablet and send them privately to me.
Only then we can know for sure if it's really caused by LrMobile.
We would need all your logs that you can find under these folders that are close to the date and time when your device restarted.
    OSX: /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/DeviceName/
    Windows: C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\DeviceName\
Btw you need to sync with iTunes to see them.
    thanks,
    Ignacio

  • IPad mini randomly opens and closes apps, changes pages on book readers

My iPad mini has gone crazy, it randomly opens and closes apps, plays games itself, changes pages whilst reading a book, starts flashing. Tried everything, rebooted the device, updated it always with the latest software update and have reset the iPad as a new IPad with no success. The problem still occurs which is really enjoying. I checked on the Internet and I'm not the only one with an iPad mini with this problem. The iPad is older than one year, what are my chances of resolving this and how?

I have this problem with my PDFs too. I'm using a lot of PDFs from the German RPG "The Dark Eye" (Das schwarze Auge) from their the PDF shop "ulisses ebooks".
However, i recognized that I don't get this random black boxes after a restart of the iPad Air for a long time. But when it starts it's become very frequently.
To remove the black boxes for a single page i can close the book and reopen it or just mark text from the corrupted page. Zoom in removes the black boxes too, but if you zoom out there are visible again.
I also recognzied that this must be a problem if the iPads PDF engine and not from iBooks. I got the same random black boxes in a PDF which I viewd in Safari.
I think that changing the reader will only help if it has its own PDF Engine. Don't know if this possible in iOS.
Perhaps it's some kind of memory leak of the iOS PDF Engine, after this bug apperas only after some time of ussage.

  • Mac Mini Randomly Crashes

I have a Mac Mini Late 2012 in the office on Yosemite 10.10.2, which randomly crashes.  We are using Office 2011 for Mac and Google Chrome.
Sometimes the beachball appears and just stays there and you have to turn it off.   Sometimes the screen goes white and then you get a folder icon with a question mark in the middle flashing.  Again turn it off and back on.  Does it maybe twice a day.  On turn back on the following panic message is viewable.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. You may have to leave the machine there for several days.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • IPad mini iCal crashes.

    New iPad mini.
When i try to look beyond February 2013 the app crahses. Don't know if it's related but noticed that the Do Not Disturb setting was active this afternoon even though it is timed to be on between 23.00 and 07.00.
Tried a restart and sync to my Mac Air but still crashing.
    Any ideas?

    OK.
Just found another thread about this which suggests deleting any all day events for April 1st.
I have done this but have two allday events on a subscription calendar, which I can't delete.
Seems that may have this issue.
    Needs sorting, Apple.

  • IPad mini Music crashes

New iPad Mini. Music app crashes 100% of time. Anyone else?

    Hi Pa23from Argyllshire,
This error: I have just bought an iPad mini and to transfer my contacts, music etc via iTunes on my PC, the PC crashes should not occur.
The best guess is this crash is caused due to an issue with the PC.
Make sure your iPad is updated to the latest operating system: iOS 7.0.4 and make sure iTunes is updated to iTunes 11.
iTunes 11 is optimised for iOS 7, so if you have an iOS 7 device and non iTunes 11 computer, life would be hard.
Try to update iTunes to 11.1.3 from: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Even try uninstalling iTunes and then re-installing. iTunes will not lose any of your iTunes songs when your un-install it as iTunes stores every media item in a folder found in (or around): C:\Users\NAME\Music\iTunes
Obviously iTunes and iDevices work best using Mac iTunes however; iTunes 11 and iOS 7 iPad Mini should work fine.
    In summary possible solutions:
    1.       Update iPad Mini to iOS 7 or better (iOS 7.0.4)
    2.       Update iTunes to iTunes 11.1.3
    3.       Restart both PC and iPad
    4.       Uninstall iTunes from PC
Many Thanks, Happy New Year and I look forward to hearing from you regarding this crash!

  • Ipad mini apps crashing on ios 6-6.02

Does anybody else have an issue with their ipad mini running ios6- 6.0.2 . Both third party and native apps keep crashing, freezing then crashing (particularly safari)  and wifi disconnects and Internet pages often won't load or YouTube videos won't load??? Is this a hardware or software issue?

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps...  Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • IPad Mini keeps crashing mid-game - A5 at fault?

I have the iPad Mini (non-retina).
I am running Gangstar rio, and every so often it just crashes mid game.  Sometimes it happens when I have many other apps open, including netflix.
But I just ran it with nothing else open.
Could this be because the A5 chip just cannot handle that game too well, and I need the iPad Mini Retina??
    Any advice would be helpful.

True - but it's been like that for about 3-5 months.
I just wondered if it was the same on the A7 chip.

Random music plays while I play games. Does this happen to anyone else?

Sorry there are some typos above, but you should be able to figure out what I'm asking. Let me know if you have tha same problem, know how to fix it, or know if apple is aware of the problem and is adressing it in a future update.
