IPad mini rebooting/restarting constantly

i have a first gen iPad mini and it constantly reboot/restarts.
ive done all of the restarts/recoveruse, still no fix.
is this a hardware issue, and can not be fixed?
is the only fix, is to buy a new iPad?
we do not have an Apple Store anywhere close to my location.
any input would be appreciated.

Try some basic troubleshooting:
(A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
(B) Try reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
(C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • Mac Mini reboots restarts upon wake from sleep

Since 'upgrading' from Lion to Mountain Lion, my Mac Mini reboots (Restarts) whenever I wake it from sleep. I've applied every update hoping it will be fixed. Apple has been unable to resolve the issue short of their standard suggestion to reformat and reinstall from scratch. I've had to resort to disabling the energy saver.
A Google search turns up many similar complaints. Anyone have a fix or suggestion?
    Thanks

Did you get anywhere with this? I have the same problem i fear as per my separate post

If you have done all of the above i would call Apple care or setup an appointment at a Apple Store for them to diagnose and replace.

  • My iPad mini keeps restarting randomly all the time

My iPad mini keeps restarting randomly all the time, I already restored it to manufacturer settings, help! This started about a week ago, and I can't take it to Apple because I got this Christmas 2012. I already reset it all, and it still keeps restarting.

I had the same problem.  I ended up restoring to the factory settings using the method:
    1. connect usb to computer
    2. hold down home button and connect cord to ipad...continue holding down home key until connect to itunes appears on screen, then release
    3. restore to factory settings
I lost all my pictures and data, but the ipad works again. Such a pain! Not happy about this at all!

  • IPad mini keeps restarting

My ipad mini keeps restarting ever since I've installed the new update. Does anyone have any simple ideas to make this incredibly annoying problem stop?

    Try a device reset:
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

FaceTime is not  available on devices purchased or used in certain countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. This is by government decree. The FaceTime app can't be downloaded or installed on these iPads.

  • Switching On Bluetooth On My iPad Mini Causes Restart

    Hello,
Often when I switch on bluetooth on my iPad Mini (First Generation) running iOS 8.2,  my iPad suddenly restarts!  This has happened all through every version of iOS 8.  Can anyone help me fix this?
    Thanks,
    Michael

    Hello Michael-Reisman,
Thanks for the question. I understand that your iPad mini unexpectedly restarts when you toggle Bluetooth on. That is definitely unexpected behavior, so let’s see if we can isolate this issue further in an attempt to troubleshoot it. One of the best ways to isolate issues is to restore the software on your device. To do so, let’s backup your device and restore it as new. Once restored, test to see if the issue persists - if not, go ahead and restore your backup and information then test once more:

I bought an iPad Mini a couple of months ago,as a joke my aunt put a password for my iPad, i kept trying to open it, until i hit the disabled screen connect to itunes, i searched the web and found a waay out of it, so when i start recovery mode on my laptop, it does the iPad Software Update first. The iPad restartes during the restore and i have to do the restore one more time but it just happens again, PLZ HELP!!

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

  • Why does my ipad mini keep restarting itself?

I bought an ipad mini in Feb, 2013 and until 2 weeks ago it has been working like a charm. Now my ipad mini  restarts on its own without my consent. I have witnessed it restart when i have been reading books from ibooks, when opening programs, when listening to music and a few times when it hasn't been in use just sitting on the bench in screen saver mode. Yesterday i plugged the mini into my laptop and determined that i am currently using the most up to date software and that ensured i had saved a back up on the icoud and my computer. Finally i went trhough itunes to restore my ipad to is factory settings. This was completed this morning without a glitch only to find some 10 hours later my ipad is continueing to restart without any warning. Help!!

    Hi there,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

  • Ipad mini disabled restart in 23 million minutes

my ipad mini is giving the message that it is disabled to restart in 23 million minutes. Is this a virus? What to do? I rarely use my iPad mini. DOn't want to sync it to my macbook, incase the virus

This is not a virus. This is usually the result of someone trying to guess your iPad's passcode lock and getting it wrong repeatedly. I'm not sure what causes it to escalate to such high numbers in some cases, but regardless, I don't think that you'll be able to unlock it. You'll probably need to do as Diavonex suggests.

  • IPad mini Rebooting

Over the past few weeks my iPad mini (1st) keeps rebooting at random points, every 5-10 minutes. Anyway after a while I decided I'd had enough and sent it back to apple for repair. Apple responded by saying that they could not find a fault with the product but restored it and updated it and it was returned to me. However after sorting out my Apple ID and putting a few things back on the ipad it started rebooting again and doesn't seem to have been fixed. Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I can prevent it
    Thanks

Same problem here. It only started doing it after i got 7.0.2.

  • IOS 8.0.2 iPad Mini Retina restarts with Blue Screen

Hi, although some of them have been facing this 'blue screen restart issue' on iOS 8. I never really faced the issue when using iOS 8 but ever since I upgraded to 8.0.2 I have this issue now. My iPad Mini with Retina is restarting often followed after a blue screen. The iPad is also vulnerable to crashes and freeze after the iOS 8 upgrade. I am so frustrated coz I use my iPad for work and office.
Will Apple ever take notice of these issues and try to do something about it?
Please DO SOMETHING about it and get it fixed.

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • IPad Mini Reboot Problem

I have purchased a iPad Mini 32GB ffrom ebay which the seller assures has been in perfect working order since Nov. 2012.  Unfortunately for me the iPad crashes when ever I use Sky Go or Netflix on a 2.4Ghz Wifi Network.  I raised a case with Apple Support however (after all diagnostic steps are performed) they inform me to take the iPad to an Apple Store and that it is not under warranty.  Errors recorded from Diagnostics below:

    Boot failure count: 1

I have emailed the seller who has agreed to take the device back.
However, I am not convinced that this is a hardware error.  If I connect to a 5Ghz Wifi Network all works great - no crashing at all.  I also cannot get it to fail whilst web browsing etc on the 2.4 Ghz Wifi Network.  Can anyone tell me from the above if this definately is a hardware error?  I would prefer not to have to return the device as I bought this to keep kids entertained in the car on a long drive to France which will occur in only 2 days time.
    Please help!

Update.  I have found that if I turn Bluetooth off, the kernel panic issue on 2.4Ghz Wifi no longer occurs and movies play flawlessly.  Tested for two hours on two different networks.

  • Patch 8.03 causing Ipad Mini 3 to constantly crash

My wife has an Ipad Mini 3 64gb which was working lovely yesterday. She updated to Patch 8.03 and since then the Ipad mini has updated, opened the home screen and then crashed back to the Apple screen to start all over again. So far she has reinstalled the patch twice and also tried to factory restore. sadly she has not been given an option to restore to 8.02, only to 8.03 which immediately starts the update/open home screen and crash sequence all over again.
Have tried to restore via Itunes, have done the factory hard reset and we are now out of ideas on how to fix this.
Anyone have any thoughts, or do we have to wait for Apple to release a new patch?
Guessing we have been lucky, but this is the first time we have ever had any problem with an Apple product/IOS.
Thanks to anyone who has any help

There is no way to downgrade to iOS 8.1.2 and I doubt that has anything to do with this problem.
You can try to restore your iPad to factory settings if you haven't already done so.
See the link below for instructions:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
Test your iPad for stability before restoring to your backup. Note that a bad app may be causing problems.
