IPad mini replacing iPad 2

I used to have a iPad 2 which I got rid of a while back when it got broken.  This was a few months ago and at that time I had a MacBook Pro that I was using to sync that iPad.  I have since gotten rid of that computer and got another one, which I needed as I needed to be able to run Windows for everything that I have to run.  I have a new iPad mini that I just got a few days ago and I restored it when I first turned it on from the iPad 2's backup.  The problem that I am having now is when I go to connect the iPad to this computer, I get a message telling me that the iPad is synced with another iTunes library and if I continue with Sync, everything will be removed from the iPad.  I wasn't too worried about it as I figured I could just download the apps that I have again and set it up again the way I wanted it.  However, even after doing that, the iPad didn't remove anything, and there are files that are on the iPad that are not on my computer, but I cannot get them to sync over to the computer.  For instance all the apps are on the iPad and not on the list of apps that are on the computer.  When I go to do the update to the iPad, I get a message telling me there are things that haven't synced yet on the computer and I should sync them before doing the update.  How can I get this iPad to sync to my iTunes on this computer and get everything matched up the way that it is supposed to be so I won't get any more messages telling me that things need transferred to my library when I have just finished syncing and still get the message?

I believe that Apple will replace the device with the same model as the one that you want to replace if it comes under the out of warranty replacement policy. If you want a mini, that would be on your to purchase it.
My iPad is not eligible for warranty service. What are my service options?
Apple offers two service options for iPads that are not eligible for warranty service.
Battery Replacement ServiceIf your iPad requires service only because the battery's ability to hold an electrical charge has diminished, please refer to the Battery Replacement Service information.
Out-of-Warranty ServiceIf you own an iPad that is ineligible for warranty service but is eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service, Apple will replace your iPad with an iPad that is new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability for the Out-of-Warranty Service fee listed below.
iPad model
Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
iPad mini
$219
iPad 3rd, 4th generation,
iPad Air
$299
iPad 2, iPad
$249
A $6.95 shipping fee will be added if service is arranged through Apple and requires shipping. All fees are in US dollars and are subject to local tax.
Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. However, an iPad that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service.Apple reserves the right to determine whether or not your iPad is eligible for Out-of-Warranty service. Replacement iPads have a 90-day limited hardware warranty or assume the remainder of your standard warranty or AppleCare service contract coverage, whichever is longer. Please see the AppleCare+ for iPad and Apple Repair Terms And Conditions for further details.

  • Ipad mini replacement terms and conditions..

I have this problem on my ipad mini that it always restarts or automatically. And sometimes it appears in the screen a blue color and a stripe one.. And an html somethinf like that. So under the warrAnty ivsurrender the unit to the store. I have read some comments that it cannot be repaired so im expecting that it would be replaced. Then when i finally get my ipad back they already replaced it. My question is in replacement, should the item would be replaced by second hand or brand new i mean new item including the original box etc.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
They gave you a refurbished iPad, which is an used iPad that was repaired. It doesn't come in any box, as you already have the one that came with your original iPad

  • Ipad Mini Replacement and wanting to purchase AppleCare for the replacement

I have sent my iPad mini for repair of the screen and will be getting the replacement.  Can I purchase AppleCare for this replacement once I register and receive it?
    Thank you.

I don't think AppleCare+ is available for replacement devices, but to be sure you should aks Apple directly for an accurate answer.

  • IPad Mini Replacement

My ipad mini is now being diagnosed and might be replaced. I was wondering if the replacement unit is brandnew as in the units that you'll get when you buy a new one or just a refurbished ipad? If it's a refurbished ipad, will it look like a brand new one and 100% work the same as a brand new one?

  • Mac mini replacement motherboards

I have a 2.53ghz intel core 2 duo, 4gb of DDR3, 320gb mac mini I purchased in 2009. It stopped working so I took it into apple and they told me the motherboard was out and It would cost $430 to fix. I was wondering if there is an less expensive alternative to having apple replace it? Ive heard that I can purchase a "third party" motherboard and replace it myself. I am looking for any suggestions anyone has.
    Thanks

There are no 3rd party logic boards. You can purchase used logic boards, however. ifixit.com is one source, as is ebay mentioned above. You can google "mac mini logic  boards" and find a number of vendors with used boards. ifixit.com has some good directions on how to replace the board, too.

  • Mac mini- replacing a damanaged blue tooth keyboard (computer is pw protected)

Trying to replace a damanged keyboard for my mac mini but the blue tooth on the new one doesn't connect.  I've tried restarting it and reconnecting and a few other combinations but it will not pick up.  Plus it's password protected.  How can I get around this issue?

Plug in a usb keyboard to enter password.  Once in SL open Set up Bluetooth Device. Hit power button on keyboard and enter code that appears. Keyboard should now be paired to Mini

  • IPod mini replacement

I was wondering; since I had just ordered a repair courier for my iPod mini, about the same time the package arrived the iPod nano was released, since I was already getting a bran new mini I was wondering if I could like give apple like 50 bucks and they could replace my mini with a nano. Is there any possibility of a swap and if you don't know please just post a place where I could contact apple because I seem to be having difficulty finding a support email.

    Nick,
No, there is no chance of you replacing the mini with a nano. Apple do not do this. The replacement iPod you get, will be the same model you sent in.

  • Ipod mini replacement batteries

Has anyone actually bought a replacement battery online and replaced it themselves? Was it pretty easy to do? I know my battery is shot, I haven't been able to use my ipod for a while now and am hoping that buying a replacement battery will be my ipod back up and running. Just wanted to hear from anyone who's done this.

This web site has a lot of great repair guides, including for the iPod mini
    http://www.ifixit.com/Device/iPod_Mini
Also, if you search on YouTube, there seem to be videos of the procedure.
(On a side note, if the tiny hard drive in your iPod mini ever goes bad, you can supposedly replace it with a standard compact flash card.)

  • Can Mac Mini replace my PB G4?

My HD has reported fatal errors (SMART status). I've backed up onto an external drive for safety.
Instead of replacing the HD in the G4, could I use a MAC MINI instead? Using the keyboard and the display of the laptop?
That way, I could make full use of the Intel technology right? Yes? No? Talking BS? Let me know kind people.
    Thanks.

No, you won't be able to use the keyboard and display of your PowerBook for the Mac mini. The PowerBook doesn't have any kind of "video in" to go from the Mac mini's video out. You'd need to buy a regular display, keyboard and mouse for the Mac mini.

  • Mac Mini replacement hard drive - will any 2.5" SATA drive fit?

I want to upgrade the hard drive in my Early 2009 Mac Mini. I see lots of good info online about how to disassemble and reassemble the Mini. But I can't find any info about hard drive compatibility.
Will any 2.5" laptop SATA drive fit the Mini? I want to make sure that all the connectors and mounting holes will line up correctly. I am thinking about Western Digital Scorpio Black.
Anyone have any experience with this?
    Thanks for the help!

  • Where Can I Buy a 2011 Mac Mini Replacement Fan?

Broke the cable on my fan during a hard drive replacement. Anyone know where I can buy a replacement?

I'm always impressed by those guys that wear the T-shirt with a picture of a screwdriver on it.
Below the picture of the screw driver it reads "I void warranties".   You are the future of America!

  • New Mini replaced defective one - will it work on my cpu?

My 1-month old iPod mini lost a pixel in the display. The wonderful Apple folks gave me a new one 10 minutes after walking into the store. I just learned about nano but that's beside the point.
So - the question - I had registered my OLD ipod mini (with its own serial number, of course) with apple and set up itunes using my OLD ipod mini. Now that I have a new iPod mini, what changes do I need to make to have it work on my PC? Do I have to do the whole 'de-authorize' thing? Do I need to go into some profile somewhere and update the info (serial number, specifically) to match my new machine?
I would have already tried juicing it up already instead of posting here but I am currently charging the new mini before it's ready to take 4 gigs of songs.

You don't have to deauthorize anything. All you need to do is to format the iPod for Windows use.
If you don't already have it, download and install the latest iPod Updater, then restart your computer.
Run the updater program, connect your iPod when prompted (not before), and follow the set up procedure, and you should be good to go.
